Got my Flowermate from Massdrop today. Pretty pleased with the shipping time as it made it to Canada on the day they initially estimated they would ship on. Only did one burn off sesh then couldn't wait to test it out. Will do a couple more burn offs before I use it again I think. So far I am pretty pleased and it got me pretty vaked. Also no extra customs fees! Will definitely be retiring my too hot INHXP.

So Massdrop got back on my missing glass mouthpiece. They told me it could be months before they are able to send me one?

They gave me the option to wait or take a $15 credit. I don't want to wait so I took the credit.

I just picked up a glass one on ebay for $12 so saving a few extra bucks in the end.....

I tried to find the answer via searches but does anyone know of a car adapter for the vapormax?

I finally used my MD FMV for the first time out and about and it worked very nicely. Very tasty at first. I started drawing before the light changed color to get some low temp hits and it worked well. I had packed it down a little and only took about 10 small pulls (and one big one) on it and then turned it off, hitting it lightly while it cooled. I suspect I should get another session or 2 out of the remaining herb.

I am pleased with the purchase.

I have really enjoyed my flowermate a lot . Its one of the best purchases I have made this year. I have been wanting to open it up and clean the insides but I am afraid of breaking it. What do you think guys can this be done safely?

I apologize if this has been answered already but do people stir, shake or leave the load alone throughout the session?

Make sure you get rid of that restrictive porcelaine cap. I would replace the nickle screen its very restrictive, I replaced mine with a 0.375 size stainless steel one. It did'nt fit perfectly but can be pushed in with a small little driver. Make sure your herb is dry and ground to a course sand size. I like to tamp it very lightly just so it neat. As you go through your vapor session you can stir it a little.

thanks yeah I will do that, felt a little restricted. haven't had a chance to really mess around with it yet.

I've also been enjoying this... it is in fact so convenient that I have started to neglect my SSV.

I don't bother to stir. As mentioned above, it is easy to pack it too densely, and the mouthpiece does get hot. I don't doubt it is possibly somehow more efficient or superior to stir, but I can't imagine the hassle is worth it for me. If the stirring tool fit in the body, maybe... but I have been enjoying carrying the unit and nothing else. On that note:

Has anyone found a clever way to make the mouthpiece stop rattling when in its chamber? It obviously just needs a little bit of foam or something but wondered what you brilliant engineers have come up with in this regard.

I did check to see if the logo was removable without going through too much of the outer layer... I was able to get it blurry-looking but it was getting really close to the bright silver color underneath, so like the person above, I just wrapped it in electrical tape which is actually much cleaner-looking than one would think. The color, at least of my tape, is a dead-on match for the color of my black FM. Much better looking that the logo, at any rate.

I've been really close to buying an Indica, and was thinking that this one would become the backup... but it doesn't feel so urgent anymore now that this one works so well. I haven't touched my MFLB since the flowermate arrived :( sorry li'l guy.

This thing is definitely changing my approach to vaping more than I thought it would. I realized that I actually don't take the MFLB with me in many cases I might want to, simply because I don't want to round up the batteries, battery end cap, battery case, herb container... it adds up.

Now, I just grab one thing, pre-packed and charged (just one more thing to remember to plug in each night). It is I daresay glorious. Probably a good thing these didn't exist when I was in college.

20 minutes seems to be the norm for one load if the herb is not too dry. This is with the small nickel screen removed.

The abv is evenly dark, dark brown doesn't have the burnt popcorn taste.

No screens anywhere at all. And no ceramic piece. it does help to blow out the mouthpiece, however, after use.they might work with tobacco, but they sure don't work with Herb due to the oils!

Not sure I gets what you are suggesting here. Are you saying to REMOVE completely the screen at the bottom the oven? Isn't that going to result in goods getting inside the case? And won't removing the MP screen lead to goods in your mouth? I can see changing the screens to adjust coarseness (tho I think I will leave mine, minus the ceramic piece) but not eliminating them.

Ok I picked up a single-temp glass mouthpiece flowermate for someone else and decided to do a test/break in, I really like the form-factor, the storage space sparked an idea to see if my AA storage batteries (that fit about .25 grounded and probably more packed tight) would fit and they do, meaning you can keep a stealthy refill in the stealthy unit while using it... came with a new silicone smell, after charging, did a burn off (which under a bright light I caught a small wisp of vapour but nothing too off putting), And boiled the mouthpieces...still tasted funny but I felt some herbs would fix it, it did.....did a medium grind light pack, slow draw.. alright taste with the glass mp, cool vape, though definitely not as much visible vapor as a pax on medium (which IIRC was at some point mentioned as a reference), but medicating non the less...I suspect I will enjoy the variable temp version....my question, is there an established technique for getting the fullest hit? Grind consistent? Pack density?

Edit: practice makes perfect....all it took was to let it have a good 1 min heat up, even though my previous sessions were long, i feel that hitting it constantly from when it turns green won't let it get a chance to heat up the whole session.......getting good clouds now:tup:

I have never used the oven screen. Ever. No need as far as I am concerned. No clogging the system without it. I used the mouthpiece screen for a week. It restricts air flow after a while as it gets gunned. Try it without the screens. I am pretty sure you will like it!

I don't believe it is possible to remove the screen at the bottom of the bowl, which is what he was asking. Your saying remove the screen in the mouthpiece, correct? I've done that, but sometimes herb can fly up and get stuck in the mouthpiece this way. Those 5 holes in the mouthpiece should be where the nickel screen is. I think that would have been better.

As for comparing this to the Indica, there is really no comparison on taste in my opinion, much higher quality materials (and no to mention the variable temps, the low ones are incredible and the high one hits like a truck). Indica is also more compact and not quite as harsh thanks to a longer vapor path. Only benefit of the FlowerMate over indica is battery life I believe, and price ofcourse!

what's the best way to get the chamber screen out without messing up the chamber?

Yup. If I have not lost my total credibility, I do not use the mouthpiece screen. I have a glass mouthpiece and it does get detritus on it after a while, but not much. The five hole metal piece does keep most stuff out and even gets clogged at times. I tend to use pretty fresh stuff. I suspect if you use very dry material and grind it very fine, you would get stuff up the stem!

I have several vapes and I must say, I like the Flowermate a lot. It has been very durable so far, and even though I don't get the clouds I get with my Solo, I can make a load last for a much longer time and the taste is pretty darn good all the way through. I would surely suggest this vaporizer to newbies!

After two days with the Flowermate I am indeed loving it.

In fact the first time using it I got wrecked by accident. I wasn't seeing any vapor and barely put any herb into it, hit it about six times and I was glued to my chair for a couple of hours. Still experimenting, today I took one good hit and still no vapor but wow, nicely medicated with a big smile. This thing is going to save me a fortune over burning a pipe.

Now I am going to experiment with vapes, my Pinnacle Pro should be in the mail today and still thinking about the Solo.
