Kleen extract

I placed an order for my second gallon on Tuesday sept 2nd and received an email with a ups tracking number yesterday, eta is by the end of the day next Thursday sept 11th

Ordered a gal on August 31st but I ordered it through amazon.com for $88.19 after shipping. It was processed right away they shipped on sept. 2nd I received it earlier today sept. 5th it shipped from Carlsbad, CA and shipped to Bellingham, Washington. Couldn't be happier with shipping times. Came in 1 1 gallon jug discrete in double wall cardboard box the passes construction requirements for hazardous materials packaging requirements for freight classification. ( in case anybody really wanted to know) had a return address for kleen xtract that's about it. And no I didn't need to sign for it I'm sure he would have left it sitting on my doorstep had I not been standing outside when UPS arrived. Also I wasn't asked anything for verification that I was of certain age or identity..... I was the guy standing in front of the house the package was addressed to therefore must be who the package was intended for. All said by no means am I complaining always been happy with UPS service as long as it's not FED EX SMART POST I'm happy if it was fed ex smart post I wouldn't order it in the first place. For anyone that's had issues with the delivery , by chance is it or was it shipped fed ex smart post? I've noticed any items lately I've had problems with we're all fed ex smart post and their screwed up delivery system, if anyone's interested I could probably pull up the article I read explaining why their system was so screwed up. Anyway hope that helps anyone that's uneasy about shipping from kleen xtract . I've got some material I want to experiment with. I've read all 16 pages of this thread since receiving it today have had it in the freezer and have been getting fidgety and need to see some results first hand.

One question........ So once I open it since it's in a one gallon jug how do you recommend preventing as little water absorption as possible. Should maybe I split it into like 4 quart jars so I can keep them sealed until they're needed rather than opening and closing the one gallon exposing the whole batch every time I use it?

I have a smaller bottle, but I close the lid tight and keep it in the freezer.

Ordered gallon and screens today.

Sorry for the back to back....

Performed another KX run.




Starting material: frozen KX, frozen 10g of Recon broken up.



5 min Wash: filled KX just over material, swirl for 10sec every min on the min.




Strain: 50 micron ss screen on mason jar into 10 micron ss screen into parchment lined Pyrex





Evap: placed on hot plate temp 45c or 113f, oil temp 83f with fan directly blowing on it for roughly 9 hrs.




Results: 1.4g or golden shatter. 14% return on first wash.

I will save the material n wait for another run then combine both 2nd washes n blast them with tane. Never tried combining the two I'm interested in the results thanks for listening guys

And you should be. The 10 micron makes a big difference compared to using the unbleached coffee filter I take it? I guess I need to get me some sss.

Would you mind taking a pic of the bud after it's been broken up please? Maybe with something in there for scale too? I'm trying to gauge how much most people break it up, and I'm a very visual person. I know @DieHard says a little coarser then preparing for a joint.

I'm curious if everyone does it by hand, or uses a grinder. If using a grinder, I'm assuming a VERY light grind?

@2clicker that's....................what..................I..............thought...........lol, j/k...just wanted confirmation. I'll have to get some from that site you posted. They last pretty much indefinitely if you keep them clean? And what's the best way to clean?

yeah i think if you take care of them they can last quite a long time. i use iso sometimes and boil them. usually i run scorching hot water through them reverse the direction i filtered in. but do it soon after. ive done this only and used them again w/out any negatives... at least from what i can tell. not saying they are totally cleaned though obviously.

the 10 micron though i would suggest more frequent cleanings. maybe even a blue dawn scrubbing...? then boiled.

i think i will contact the guys over there at 316tws to see if they can recommend anything.

IMO if you want the finest of the fine take whatever technique you are using and soak for a RIDICULOUSLY short time for a first wash. You'll get a lower yield of course, but the 2nd run will be as good as a 2 min soak and normal yield, minus the premium small return first wash. I'm talking 10-15 sec. If you can spare the solvent cost and the 1 more purge time etc, it is well worth it imo.

Are u talking about using KX and doing that? What are the benefits to using this technique?

so i would say iso and boiling them is good. and rinsing them in HOT water immediatly after use. i hang mine to dry.

i wonder if PBW would be effective here...?

I think I am getting a significantly higher return than with everclear. This is not a lab here but I just got 5.3 raw grams from a zip. A recent run with EC of same weight, same material got 4.1. Both cold extractions.
Kleenxtract is a pleasure to work with. I really like that it evaporates completely without heat.

To be clear, this is for a medicinal oil. Dunno about dabbing it. I do know that KX is cost competitive
with EC and it's 100% ethanol. Try it, you'll like it.

OK I appeal to the Council of Knowledge that reside here. I got my gallon, gold mesh coffee filter, 10 micron mesh filter, oil slick paper roll and 12 grams of my "Butterscotch." Hand crushed buds, small but not ground. Freezer for 24 hour along with Jug. Add to mason jar, top return to freezer,. Every minute get out swirl jar madly and reinsert. 4th minute (1 min past last swirl) pour though coffee filter. Next slow pour though 10 micron screen into oil slick paper clipped to the edge of glass baking dish. 24 hours and a red I hesitate to call it oil residue is on sheet. I fold and press but very little luck. Reminiscent of my recent "Tar Baby gram adventure" I individually use dap tool to press up what I can and It looks to be around a gram. When you guys hold up your golden swiss cheese are you doing pounds or something? Please critique and suggest away.

PS My daughter thinks it is the best thing she ever tasted and wants to quit the convent.

I do 7 grams at the most...it's not how much you start with and from the sounds of it, the strain would be fine. I do about the same as you with ISO and much shorter washes (will try the Kleen soon); you mentioned "swirl jar madly", I have concern about this as I've seen no one say do it that way. I've always seen "gently swirl"...that may be your issue. Also, I do use heat to evap and what I have found is that I always need a second, quick re-heat (about 105*F for 30 minutes give or take) and after doing that, the oil gets much more "hard". Hope this helps.
