I've had 3 and one had a defected battery pack however the unit itself was fine. I would just buy a new one and forget about it!

I am not doing anything yet but when I get off this break and get my throat better I am rewarding myself with a new solo. I also am in my 50's and started in the 1970's in high school. You seem so calm and nice- I feel like we could be kindred spirits, I the Washington experiment isn't going as well as colorado but it just needs a little time.
Do you like that dh20 bubbler because I need the smoothest one going.

Ataxian turned me on to the D020. I was glad that he did. Yes I like it very much, it gives a nice smooth taste if you go higher temp wise. The higher temps help with pain and the D020 bubbler make it less harsh. The Solo and the D020 make a good pair.
I'm glad that FC isn't just a bunch of really young folks. Theres really a cross section of all ages it seems like. What I really like too, people from every part of the world. How great is that.

- I gots a Q - I want to dab & I presently do top drawer hash & CherryOil mixed w/flower in my SOLO, but it's tough to hit clouds w/my COPD, so I'm lookin for a "best" type water (bubbler?) cooling adapter/nail set-up for desk-top, strictly for wax/budder/shatter! I should say I don't get out much, so I'm not up on most of the terminology used around here!How many recommends can I get? GonG or WonG or WonK + I'm in Ontario - impoverished - wawa - who isn't -
or should I hunt just down a local glass store?

Carol i won't bore you with the details however i found the right strain.
Normally hydroponic is the only flower i like.
However the soil outdoor Girl Scout Cookies is federal level medicine!
The SOLO just works the best for my medical well being!
The D020 needs to be put in operation since the holiday is about pairing with the SOLO!

You could buy a 18mm GonG from Planetvape. The GonGs for the Solo are a popular item, a lot of the time they are out. The D020 Bubbler takes the 18mm GonG or you could buy a wooden 18mm WonG from @Ed's TnT.

@krusht I don't think you're getting my PM's but I will email you when I get a chance. The thick glass gong from EpicVape works AMAZINGLY with the Solo! You can use it as a turbo stubby short stem to be discrete, or invert it into a glass bubbler! The d020 from dhgate.com is only $30 shipped and works great with the Solo (psst, ask Ataxian). If you need more volume then I recommend some of the other cheap glass. Around where we live, with Rock Universe (and that other place), it's all over priced rip off shit glass in my opinion, except for some of that german glass, but then you're paying through the nose.

2 days after recieving my order from planetvape all the way to the UK my solo has broken! 
When you turn it on and choose a setting it will start to heat, but after just 10 seconds it beeps and turns off. It's fully charged, I've tried resetting it and literally everything. Anyone else know of this issue?
To make things worse as soon as my solo breaks planetvape have gone on a close until October! FML

I had a charged up my Solo to max (solid green light), and it has sat for days (maybe 3 or 4) without use. I thought i'd plug it in to "top up" the battery, and to my surprise when I went to look at it a few seconds later it was solid! I would have ventured that it should have charged for at least 5+ minutes due to gradual drainage. It really holds its charge well, but it's still fairly new. I love my Solo!

You should think about the evo xhale. I need the smoothest bubblers as well and am always on the search. The evo is an awesome desktop and it is suppose to be used with water filtration just like the soloCarol, Simple & LIM - ur all neat/nice/young(er) guys

3 days with the Solo... good God! What is this wizardry?! This is my first experience with a true vape after 6 years of combusting and I love it oh so much! It feels like the high is more uplifting and less of a body load as smoking. I feel tremendously high after 2 cycles on temp 5, but not in a stoney fashion. Really nice! Comedowns are less exhausting, I save lots of bud. But one thing I noticed though is that my highs tend to last a bit less (2 hours compared to 3-4 from combusting). Could it be because I'm vaping .2-.4 per session instead of smoking my usual .7 gram joints? I think there is a more major correlation between the quantity of material and the duration of the high, rather than the quantity and the intensity (sorry for going on a tangent but the Pure Power Plant is having it's beautiful effects right now. If you can pick some up where you are, definitely do so!).

Not as thick, but thick enough for my standards....prolly 5mm i'm guessing. It's a great match, but for you personally based on what I have read and your throat issues, I would go with glass that has MORE diffusion or like @ataxian indicated, something with more volume. The birdcage perk bubbler from dhgate is a much better match for the EVO IMO and costs only a few bucks more. Hope this helps.

I won't have anything to put in it for a while, but I'm enough of a 'vape geek' that I'm still very much excited just to see, hold, and own one of these famous gadgets. Which brings me to my question:
@OF, I'm familiar with the drill of giving a Solo a much extended charge prior to the first use, in order to better 'align' the cells inside the battery pack. I know that the usual recommendation is about 8 hours past full, or overnight. I also think I remember that giving it, say, 12 hours instead would likely only help.
Got any bets on what the 'top end of beneficial' might be for this initial charge, given I'm not in any rush to fire it up? Is 24 hours too much? 48 really seems like overkill?
Once that's over with, I plan on running it down to 50% for storage while I await the return of the holy grail…

'...to better align...'. I like that. Fits with my understanding of the process. I don't think I've ever read a maximum number, but personally have always felt 'safe' with four or so hours of extra.

What a cute little vape. Like @Svstem just said, smaller than expected. Also heavier than expected, but lighter than my Cerae. I ordered black and got silver… and am actually glad for it. It matches my laptop. It's more handsome in person than in photos IMO.
For those just joining, this is one of PuffItUp's recently-on-sale woops-sold-out "open box/returned" Solos. It's got some superficial scratches, and the bottom plate came pre-chipped for me so I don't have to worry about that.
It came complete with both the bent and straight stems. No steel screens, but it seems like I could get by with chunks of unground herb in the stem as-is? Given the basic "glass screen" with four holes that they have built-in.
Feels a bit like I'm meeting a celebrity!

I think you're the first guy to report a bent stem, cool. No real need for a screen IMO, not only can you run whole buds if you want, but even 'medium ground' very little of my goods makes it through those 4 little holes before they all get 'glued together'.
In the end many of us do run screens, mostly I think 'domed' up a bit to either reduce the load size (a lot) or just to keep the screen from fouling as fast (less dome). A dome also helps keep it in place when relaoding. I run 5/8 inch (small dome) and replace them as they foul saving the dirty ones in a small vial until there are enough of them to merit cleaning. Keeping the bud dry really holds down the fouling.
Anyway, when the time comes (sometimes when the last clean one is fouling.....) I hold them each by the edge with SS hemostats and use a small torch to 'nuke 'em until the glow'. I then brush the ash off (the screens cool in seconds) and put them in the clean vial. I blow them off and check for loose ends before putting them in service again. BTW brand new ones get torched before first use.
Anyway, congrats on the Solo, it's a solid vape for sure.
Soon, you too, will be 'doing the hamster'.......
