Flavoring EJmix/QWET tincture ?

So I followed the QWET extraction method on here and got good results. Very potent , mixed 1gram oil to .3ML Ejmix. Was originally a purple sativa strain and I didn't really care for the taste when I smoked the flower but certainly has a strong effect... Im using an Innokin Itatse VV v3 and a kanger aerotank mini with the 1.8ohm dual bottom coil.. Works pretty good compared to the other clearos that wasted my time and concentrate , I didn't even like the Smoktech atomizer.. Anyway my question is can I flavor somehow my oil cause it has a strange after taste , not burnt but more like a candle wax like taste or something .. I'm not sure if its my oil or ejmix or my atomizer.. Similar taste in all clearos and atomizers ive used. 5 hits and im lit but would love for it to taste better.. Also I should ethat I naturally evaporated the ever clear in a large pyrex pan for several days, my previous attempt on another batch using the double boiler method I believe I may have cooked to much and I thought evaporating naturally this time would be sure fire especially since I don't need to decarb because im vaping? leave as is or can I add a little flavor somehow?

Thanks , Ive searched the forum but didnt come across anything specifically on this

Nothing tastes particularly nice in my Aerotank Mini's, even with new heads.
That said, you can mix in a little high-PG flavored ejuice.

Yes, there are concentrate flavors for mixing your own ejuice.

you have many options. i have considered trying this also. thinking of starting with a citrus flavor.

my thought was to use zero nic ejuice and mix that with the ejmix before adding the oil. 1g of oil into a .25/.25 ejmix/flavor juice was what i was thinking.

Thanks for the suggestion but as mentioned the AeroTank doesn't taste the greatest anyway and besides after a few days with the aero and different atomizers ive simply concluded the AeroTank Mini simply isn't working for me , it always worked great initially then within a day or two vapor production diminished to almost nothing so i'm back at square one .. I ordered some saphhires and the Smoktech t-dux 1.6s from gotvapes in hopes I can finally find something that works reliably.. Once I get that part figured out I will re evaluate whether or not additional flavoring is needed but greatly appreciate the suggestions a lot..

@215z your right. I cleaned my ATM and put a new atomizer in and added my favorite nic juice and although it vapes very well it doesn't taste the best . Plus it's going through the nic juice really fast . It looks like I will be the one to test the Smok T-dux 1.6s with concentrates and will report back . I have sapphire V5's that will be arriving with the t-dux 1.6 to fall back on if the t-dux doesn't work out . I've got lots of different clearos and carts that are getting tossed in the parts drawer on a weekly basis in my quest to find something that works reliably .

@arrr Thanks, you've reminded me that I had also seen that one recommended several times in different threads. Adding that one to my next order for sure.. I'm just starting out in all this so it's been a lot of reading and a lot of trial and error. I'm not sure if my enthusiasm for the T-Dux 1.6s with the ceramic cup is justified based on my limited knowledge but if nothing else I will report its performance on here in case anyone else would like to know and if that doesn't work out then as you suggested its the Nautilis Mini BVC next.

UPDATE:

I've had the T-Dux 1.6 since last Friday with 1.8ohm single coil with the 5mm slots and the 1.8ohm double coil with the 5mm slot. I must say that my initial concern about flavoring in this thread was fixed with this clearo. I now realize that the flavor I was not liking before comes from the previous clearos I had tried out , this T-dux really brings out the natural flavor and never leaves a burnt or plastic taste . I'm very happy in that aspect. I started with the single coil and it worked awesome and produced great vapor and about 3 nice big hits left me pretty happy . This was at 3.3 volts , however by the end of the day when I went to try it again I got my 3 big puffs and decided to unscrew the tank of and noticed it flooded the 510 connection a little , I cleaned it up and tried again later and it flooded again and again I had to lose a few drops but it vaped good. I opted to try the double coil then , and I noticed the single coils and double coils are a little different , meaning the 5mm slot on the single coil is open with no obstruction, but the 5mm double coil has wicking just behind the 5mm slot. Using the 5mm double coil for three days and it worked great , not as much vapor as the single coil ( if that makes sense ) and I seemed to have to run the double coil at a much higher voltage or wattage to get it to vape like the single coil did at 3.3 volts but over three days purposely left in the heat of my truck in a shot glass and it never leaked. temps outside were 90 degrees and in my truck much hotter when parked. I was super happy, then the next morning I decided to add a little more oil to the tank before a road trip that day and as the day progressed it began to leak bad in the shot glass it was sitting in. I highly recommend using a shot glass when experimenting with tanks it has pretty much allowed me to not ever lose much if any oil at all . so long story short T-Dux offers fantastic flavor no matter the voltage or however long you depress the power button but it ultimately leaked on me. I have 1.8ohm single coils with the 2.5mm slots hopefully arriving today and i'm going to try again , I really hope this works. The t-dux feels extremely durable and is the 510/ego connection and I feel if I paired it with the 350mah ego mini then this would be extremely small yet incredibly durable if I had it in my pocket.. T-dux is about 2" in length and the 350mah ego battery is the same, 4" overall together in length but im not ordering a battery till I figure out if this is going to work without leaking or not.. I do want to try the nautilas sometime but its not as discrete as the t-dux

On another note I had received my first set of sapphires when I got the t-dux and I had put some of the same oil in one of those but only filled it about a 1/3 full . I get a plastic taste from it and once in a blue moon it vapes ok for one toke but most the time I get no vapor at all and I am burping it constantly to no effect . Does my oil need to be thinner with the sapphire ? to help wick better. Ive been in the ballpark of .3ml ejmix to 1 gram QWET. any tips or criticism would be greatly appreciated

I'm beginning to see from another users post that my flooding may have had a lot to do with my technique so ive got a lot more to learn before giving a reliable review.

im going to post this here too since it applies... im trying to combat the throat hit from the ejmix. as I understand it thats what the inclusion of vg helps with...

ive found running the ejmixed oil through a water piece helps alot...
the water may help filter out some of the heavier waxes and low temp pg peg.

the stuff ive been using is unwinterized...

which brings me to a comment for @215z are you using a winterized concentrate or unwinterized? because the wax builds up depending on how much I use it and the wax residue is what fouls mine... and of course a hot cleaning makes silica taste of ass for a while if not permanently.

I have a aero mini too. there is another tank similar that has a bottom vertical coil with ceramic wick. I may try that next... either that or a drip mod.

Mine is unwinterized too I do a ethanol extract in the freezer at 0 degrees . Just using a coffee filter. I want to get a better filter soon. Several of the coils I had changed out had buildup and I'm curious if this is cause of not winterizing or am I possibly not clearing the chamber when finished and its oil just drying on the coil ? My aerotank mini got that burnt taste but I will say the T-dux doesn't do that so far but as I stated before I ended up having leaking issues and still experimenting with it.

@farscaper , although ejmix doesn't taste the greatest I've noticed with this ceramic setup it's so much smoother and no overwhelming plastic taste or throat hit. Is it possible it's not the ejmix giving you that throat hit but just your tank ? I'm using the t-dux ceramic at the moment , let us know what the name of the vertical coil with ceramic wick you speak of is. I'm interested

possible! I taste the silica all the time.
but I also taste my sweet oil too! so honestly I think the issue is.... beginner setup!

I need a better mod so I can use a slightly lower ohm coil. I have the 1.8ohm on my aero. the battery I have works well topped off and with passthrough... but eventually it just cant keep up with 10 watts... which is still not really enough.

and I need a new atty. weather to go with a diffrent tank or a dripper I haven't decided yet. ill look into that one you mentioned too...

I have been concidering a fortune mod... basically an improved slightly 4nine clone. but idk that im ready for such extreme minimalism lol

beyond the edit window.

so I installed a new 1.8 atty head in my mini aerotank and charged the battery all night! I had been using it semi charged with passthrough. I gueed this usb charger is just slow.

but fresh head and full charge with the same oil in the tank did provide much better tasting and much thicker hits! so yea kanger recommended changing heads every 20 days and this solution is quite thick and contains organic waxes so it's just gunking up faster and since thecwax requires a higher vaporization temp than the oil it get deposited and subsequently then gets scorched over and over but never vaped until it gets broken down to carbon basically...

winterization will homogenize the flavor which is unfortunate.

edit: after 3 hours of use it started getting dry tasting... even through a water rig.

I closed the intake vent completely and pulled on it like I was hitting it without firing the coil. did it a few times and open the vent wide open as I have been and its back to tasting good.

the stock heads for the aerotank that camr in the box had a slot where as the blisterpack replacements have two holes. great for thin juice... terrible for thick oil juice... even switching the cover helped some but I think these are just intended for thin fluid now since all their initial complaints were about leakage....

My experience with the aerotank is just like you described . I had both style 1.8ohm attys also. Vaped good initially then less within a day or 2 at most . I was only at like 8-8.5 watts , I didn't realize you guys are running even higher wattage with your tanks.

I have been running at 10watts... or whatever the max my battery can do... but I pulse the button. which has helped some.

A friend of mine just whipped up a batch of EJ Mix with some GSC shatter...and ran it through a Kats homogenizer with a hint of d-limonene. It came out opaque, but the "EJMix" taste was more subtle than when manually stirred.
