I like the looks of this machine and it seems to solve many problems. I will be studying more since they are back ordered for a while. It would be nice for an easy RSO method with butter as a bonus . . .

has anyone tried this on 8 hour or try 190deg instead? I'm curious if it would be like old school style.

I tried the default 2 hour 160deg cookies and dosed at .5 per cookie and it was not bad but I expected more.

Did you make butter or oil? And did you decarb first?

it was butter. I did not think a decarb was necessary, I could try that. That's why I was wondering about higher temps or a longer run time, even both.

These are the new instructions that the Magical Butter group has developed:

Butter:
1 Hour @ 220
reset
4 Hours @ 160

Oil: (coconut, Olive, Grape seed, etc)
1 Hour @ 220
reset
4 Hours @ 160

Vegetable Glycerine:
1 hour @ 220F
reset
2 hours 250F

Food Grade Alcohol: **Adjust Alcohol volume if you are above sea level** (everclear, Bacardi 151, etc)
4 Hours @ 160 **NEVER OPERATE YOUR MB2 ABOVE 160F for 4 hours doing Alcohol Extraction, you could damage you machine**

I'm interested to hear what ratios other people are using and their success or failure rates. I tried to keep track of what was used in each batch until I felt that I had found the perfect ratios, and then I experimented on my friends.

Personally I find the the perfect cookies right now are my ginger snaps. Somehow they are potent enough for experienced users to enjoy a cookie or two, and gentle enough for non users to enjoy the pain relieving factors and a pleasant euphoria without any unsettling effects.

My current method involves using an equal mix of butter made from flowers and butter made from AVB. I make a pretty green butter from 16g of high quality flowers in 1 LB (2 cups or 4 sticks) of butter, which when strained makes 2 containers of about 3/4 cup each. Then I make a butter with fairly well used AVB using about 25 grams of AVB for 1 LB of butter, and again it yields about a cup and a half, which I divide into 2 containers, one for now and one for the fridge.

I use a standard ginger snap recipe, but double it, using 3/4 cup of bud butter and 3/4 cup AVB butter, getting about 60-70 cookies out if each batch. (Plus enough butter in the fridge for another batch later.). I cook a dozen or so, and then throw the rest in the freezer in their little sugar coated ball shapes in a big freezer bag, ready to bake at the drop of a hat. (Which is awesome for when company comes, who doesn't like hot, fresh from the oven cookies?) I find the bud gives you a high and the ABV enhances it with a nice stoney bottom, and the ginger makes them delicious. They kick-in in about 15-20 minutes and last a few hours. Doing the math, there is a ridiculously small amount of product per cookie, but it works, so I've been sticking with it. But I would love to hear what ratios other people are using.

I'm looking to try to make honey next, has anyone here tried to make honey, either in the MB or tradionally? I am finding conflicting information and I'd like to hear from people who have actually made some, and whether it worked or not.

And reading this over, I should start pre-heating the oven...hot cookies sound great on a day like today!

I'm afraid I can't. It's from a private Facebook Group; Magical Butter Users United. It's an invitation only page and you wouldn't be able to view it.

But I'm happy to share what I learn there. ;)

Gosh...
I am now in the FaceBook group, but I carefully scrolled back, as far as Aug. 1st.. and did not find the Instructions to print a screenshot from.
I tried.
There are way too many people in that group, all posting pictures of anything/everything that comes to mind involving "medibles", for me to search farther.
Thanks for the tip, though, Mom!

i have been making my magical coconut oil , following the instructions.
I grind, decarb then mix about a half oz and 2 cups of oil, at 160 for an hour. i wanted to experiment with higher temps and longer time cycles, but was scared of wasting herb.

With the updated instructions im sure it will be much more potent. Not saying the oil dosnt come out potent the first go, but it can be stronger. If its not potent enogh for my needs i will be making 2 cups of oil to a whole oz of meds.
I made oil with abv weed using the sit in heat for weeks/mounths method, then i also heated on a stove top for an hour, i can honestly say theye were slightly more potent then the mb2 end results so far.

Hey Butta heads
Had 50gms of ABV put it together with 20 oz of veggie oil. Let it steep @ 160 for 8hrs , the ABV was vaped on 7 with a Solo (abv was thrown in the container when you barely got a whisper of a hit out of it and resembled dark coffee grounds) .....HOLY SHIT it came out very strong and put a 3/4 cup of oil to a Duncan Hines chewy brownie mix, used an avg size muffin pan (12 muffs)...... 1/2 a muff got you baked to nice crispy around the edges buzz for about 6 hrs. Ate the other 1/2 the next day and was impressed, NOTE: I also have a very high tolerance and usually vape a good 2 gm a day The ratio was : 2.5 GMS ABV : 1 OZ OF OIL

I have made some batches with fresh herb but only 4 hr mark with butter and IMO oil is easier to work with as far as filtering. The newer filter MB2 supplies is a 90 mic filter, I got a hold of a 45 mic size bubble bag and it was 5x easier to filter than the 90 mic. A poster on FC advised me the low temp & long duration (time of cook, 8hrs) is the key to good extraction and for ABV to make 20 oz of high octane oil , it seems to hold true,YMMV :freak:
Greetings! Hopefully you're still on here. Just wish to clarify, this makes the oil that can be put into an e-cig for example? Personally have an O-pen and the Solo as well. I'm just not sure since you said you used vegetable oil, however did 8 hours. Thank you.

Anyone know if you can infuse coconut oil with bho in this machine or is it just for flowers?

There may not be a need to use the machine to infuse BHO.
It works as a a wonderful ingredient unto itself.
Check out the lovely BHO "jolly rancher" candies I just made.
As pretty as stained glass!
I do not bother infusing butter or oil with BHO as I do with Trichomes, Marijuana, Hashish and Kief..
I use BHO as a direct ingredient in foods that I desire it to go.

You put it better than I could Vito. That's exactly what I was thinking. There's no need to use the machine for infusing BHO because it's already been "processed."

Those Jolly Rancher's look mighty tasty there Vito. :D

I was reading last night about MB3. Not only does it get cold but they said it has BlueTooth and an app that will let you do titrations. When asked about blending properties they will be expanded and he said to "think peanut butter" so at this point I'm glad I opted for an MB2. Don't need all that other stuff and the higher $$$. Definitely first thing I'm gonna make is MBO/RSO. After reduction and a slight cool it should load directly into my empty syringes . . .

Edit: There was also a mention of an MBPro . . .

No but I am told that if you make a tincture with fresh flower you can make something that can go in a tank, but no I use veggie oil now instead of coconut oil due to budget for cooking oil for edibles.Sorry if I didnt do a great job at explaining, but I simmer my AVB a long time to extract all of what is left in the plant matter.I havent been over here or the site in a while and wish more would contribute on the MB2 I am curious on how to make a tincture that could be used in a pen. It may be a dream as i do know one that makes tincts. but its used 2 drops under the tongue and in his case it does wonders for pain and chemo sides, did it once toooooo strong knocked me out in about 1.5 hrs:zzz:. Stronger than anything I have made, he uses 2 oz to 20 oz of glycerin and 8 hrs of cook time I cant do 2 oz of high grade but I use AVB and also mid grade for cooking, I would rather vape the high quality bud than eat it in food. Just me, I enjoy vaping thru WT's and my Solo's I love em...got a 2014 version plus a 2012 model, new one breaths a little easier but I got a hold of a small drill bit (real small) and drilled out the holes slightly larger on the older one and wow it blows massive easy to pull clouds. So now both are vapor dragons breathing thick clouds of vapor:rockon:

I make Tinctures of all varieties a couple of times a year,
One of these is done with vegetable glycerin.
It has a beautiful reddish honey color... very clear.
I use it for internal ingestion.
Many local patients do the same.
It works MARVELOUSLY as a straight E-Juice, in any tank or cartomizer!
There are a half dozen local patients that use my Veg Glyc tinctures daily for vaping in an ecig.
Anyone in my area interested in trying this, contact me!
