Cory Glass Designs re/incyclers - high function and affordable?

Deadshort480

We're here to fuck shit up.
Just touching on Deathball Glass for a moment. I've contacted him a few times to ask about pricing and he is always quick to reply and always extremely nice. I really want a Deathball piece not only because they're lookers, but also because the guy is just so damn nice and I'd love to do business with him. I will say that they are less expensive than MS, but still pretty expensive. Like a fool, I asked about his latest collab with an outerspace theme and it seemed like a steal as a one of a kind piece and compared to a clear MS Egg at $3k.

If you would like to show us your version I'm sure we can create a thread for you. Since it is so easy you should have a lot of glass to show us. I, for one, would like to see it. Where is YOUR thread?
you must love your mothership or something to be so defensive

Not defensive at all, and I have never held an MS piece in my hand. I just find it hilarious when someone talks about how easy something is to do when they have never done it and likely couldn't.
I would be extremely unlikely to ever buy a $2000 piece of glass, but I certainly have no need to diminish the work of artists who create and sell pieces like that. Their value is whatever someone is willing to pay for them. Or the appreciation their owners have for them. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but sadly for you, it only applies to you.

Thank you for providing me with such insightful knowledge. With your vast experience I have been taught a valuable lesson. Hopefully one day il be able to turn $10 of clear glass into a design worth a few thousand.

I have a Cory Vapecycler in transit to me now. I was going to wait until it arrived to post about it, but I kinda felt this thread needed something positive in it. ;)

It is mostly clear glass with a little purple rain accent. The base and the reinforcement are colored. I anxiously await it's arrival. When I get it I will post a water test and some better pics.

Got it, finally. Came in a box as I requested. Funny, tho, the box was soaking wet so provided no protection over the bubble wrap around the piece. Good news is it was fine.

Seems to work nicely and is pretty with the purple accents. Can't test it out until later but here is a water test. I apologize in advance for the bad video...

@Stu I purposely stayed away to avoid stoking those fires.

I wanted to post an update after issues with my order was resolved. But it is dragging on....

A recap. Order placed 5/18. Received 8/7. Piece was missing worked dome and can was missing yellow fuming as quoted. Seller acknowledged missing dome but over a month later still has not shipped it. Seller did not acknowledge fuming despite screenshots from separate KIK messages clearly stating "yellow fuming on can". No response to paypal dispute.

A few take-aways from this transaction.

1. Don't pre-pay for an item in full. It should have been a big red flag that I was invoiced for full price before work began. Because some artists take their time with orders, it just creates a stressful situation where the blower can't deliver before the buyer's paypal protection expires. A partial deposit on a custom piece is fine, but I should have balked at paying up front. Turned out, that protection was needed.

2. A seller who refuses to ship until a paypal dispute is dropped gets a permanent ban.

3. Work mostly with artists I've had success with previously.

4. Only work with new blowers introduced in threads where the OP of has first put down their own money on the artist's work.

Can we see a picture? Although I can understand if you don't want to post one given the bad experience. I hope vaping out of it doesn't leave the same bad taste in your mouth as the buying experience did!

Pics once I get my money back. It's really nothing special, looks scientific. I can find someone to make the worked dome, but as we know, there's nothing can be done about the missing fuming. So for lemons to lemonade, I intend to simulate yellow fuming on the can by not washing the piece and letting that golden reclaim shine through. Seems fitting for a messy transaction. I dub thee, Dirty Cory.... #dirtycory.

Hahahahha. At least you can find the humour in it. All goes towards a grand learning experience anyway, and I know our next glass will be that much sweeter when we are ready for one.

You could probably have someone heat your piece up In the kiln and fume the outside of the piece if you really want it silver fumed.

It may seem a little odd to y'all, but I get a kick out of cleaning my Cory vape cycler. When I turn it over to empty the water filling the piece there is a very cool backward vortex that is unique to anything I have seen before. It isn't a real big deal or anything, but being entertained by cleaning a piece can only be a good thing, right? Of course it helps a lot if it is after a good vaping session... :)

Nice :) My recycler does that too. Been meaning to make a video of it.

Cleaning glass while high will lead to shatter, and not the good kind. I know from experience.
While I reject your dispositive "will", I'll give you a "could" or a "may" and keep your warning in mind, thanks. :) I have been cleaning glass in various states of buzzed for a long time with few (but not no) mishaps. I imagine that will continue.

If this was "very expensive" glass I might share your concern, but I have no "very expensive" glass. It's just relatively expensive, so not to worry.

And I like the vortex... ;)

I love pouring the water out of my recycler once It's soaked for a while! The upside-down functionality of the pipe is just as good as it's right-side-up functionality  I hate cleaning it while high though, I always put it aside and soak it later on in the night when i've adjusted a bit :leaf::zzz:
