in the meantime, I'd suggest thinking about a vvps and a bubbler and ConG adapter

I got a package from @Alan today... One year and a month after getting on the list. Won't have a chance to use it until later tonight but I know I am already happy with my purchase :)

Many thanks to @Snappo for the gorgeous wood blanks which created my hibrid core solo as well as all the wood stems.

Tonight I will be using it at a steady 10.5 and 12 volts respectively.

Ok, i'm extremely stupid so please bear with me for a minute.

Are some of the roasting tubes designed so you pack it right in the end like a normal stem, as one would do with a solo or something?

Because it seems like some of them are designed to sit on the heater a little bit and the weed goes above the screen if they come apart. is this accurate? i havent used anything but the direct draw tubes yet. the flavor!!!!!

i'll be experimenting :)

I have been very impressed with this stem @Alan sent me as a bonus!
It is a micro tube that you have to hold against the heater because of its small size.
It provides shockingly enormous hits at a very low temperature, so the hits are effortless.

The 18mm Wong i have played with is great but i need to figure out how to get a little less air resistance on it. I am dumb so it will take me a while to figure out the other roasting tubes.

For now i'm very happy with just my micro tube at a straight 12.05v. Very impressed, very happy, super HI !!!!:rockon::rockon::clap::clap::clap:

Also, as i posted in @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd thread, i can use my stem designed for the e-nano or solo with it the same way as the micro tube works. I've been using it with these two stems a lot tonight! I wish i bought a third HI, since the second one is for a friend

I pack my glass stems just like that, herb into the stem like a Solo. I keep the stem pointed upwards in my mouth and bring the HI down on the stem "Hamster Style" . I just touch the metal tube of the heater to the herb so I don't impact the load into the heater tube. I try not to get herb into the heater tube and if I do, I'll just blow it out with compressed air.
Nice vapes @exit, you will have lots of fun experimenting during your JedHI training. My HISaber still amazes me after a year...

Congratulations and best wishes! You'll soon discover (as will others) that your experience with this product (efficiency/effectiveness) was well worth the wait. Accessing Snappo's inventory of heirloom quality wood will further accentuate your pleasure with this vaporizer.

ok, cool, i figured it was working too well to not be right.

i'm still a little confused on stuff like the wine cork tubes cause i thought the whole point was you pack it in the middle, but i'll get it eveentually :)

didn't do as much experimentation as i would have liked as i was workingwith the end of the last bag i had, luckily got much more now so i have a lot more to work with and test out :)

Sorry for the double post but can't edit my last one. What is the diameter of the HI heater? Interested in getting some stems made by JoDa etc?

edit: took me a long time but i finally figured out how to hit it properly ;) hits like a monster... wow!

I have a power supply rated at 12V and it measures ~12.8 when tested, so i was not too worried. It'd been plugged in for probably an hour and a half to two hours at that voltage when I noticed my HI was noitcably less cool than it had been. Yesterday I had used it for about two hours on this PSU and it worked very nicely. I had been keeping an eye on it, so nothing like burnt wood or any signs I messed anything up.

I've been leaving it unplugged for a little while, but last time I plugged it in it didn't really seem to heat up much. Just barely got hot enough to get a wisp out of a gong. gave it another hour and its back working okay again, but a little worried about how i've been using it.

Any chance i messed something up or did something weird...? What could i check to see if anything's been damaged? I've been using it with this PSU before my VK arrived, so i hope it's okay.

Sounds like your wall wart might be going out, I'd try another one from some other appliance/electronic around the house and see how the HI acts then. Wall warts are cheap and having one malfunction or break seemingly out of the blue is not uncommon. You can get them for less than $20 at RadioShack

Unfortunately it keeps happening with different power supplies. a little worried for my HI. it doesn't sit well with me that it needs so much cooldown time before it starts producing heat again, and seems to stop right after i take one big hit?

When it works it works amazingly but I can't help but feel i might have done something wrong, or it is otherwise maybe not behaving as intended

i have not used the SS core one at all yet since that is going to a friend overseas.

In other news my Vatra DKK case has arrived - i am glad to report it can hold my HI, about 6 roasting tubes and plenty of other toys. Ideal HI travel pack, IMO.

Sadly my HI keeps shutting itself off after about 30-45 minutes, still trying to deduce what could possible have happened.

I had that case...it is very nice. I upgraded to the maxpedition fr-1. I can put several vapes and accessories in it.
