This is a Farmer's Market for folks with mmj certificates. If you are 21 and over with a valid
Drivers License you can get in too. It should be a beautiful setting along the Washington
Coast with the Olympic Mtns in the background.

You will see that no cameras are allowed. I was at their Farmer's Market in the area where I live and didn't realize I couldn't take pictures. I wanted to share with my friends on FC. They ever so gently reminded me. Some people probably don't want their pictures taken. They will probably post pics on Facebook after.

A little play on words. It's in Hoodsport, WA. - "Hoodtspot"

Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes told the City Council on Monday morning that he will seek dismissal of 100 tickets for public marijuana use after a single police officer was found to have written the vast majority of the citations as part of a political agenda.

Bicycle Officer Randy Jokela issued about 80 percent of the $27 tickets for public pot use during the first half of the year and wrote on many of them “*Attn: Petey Holmes*.” Holmes actively supported Initiative 502, which legalized pot smoking in 2012 but barred public use.

Holmes’ plan means 86 infractions written between Jan. 1 and June 30 stand to be dismissed if approved during a Municipal Court hearing that could be held as early as Tuesday. His action goes beyond Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole’s request to dismiss tickets written only by Jokela and includes all infractions, out of fairness to everyone who was cited.

O’Toole, acting on information uncovered in an internal investigation, wrote to Holmes asking that heseek dismissal of Jokela’s tickets.

IMO They allow folks to buy cannabis but nowhere to use it. They can use it at home, I know. What are tourists supposed to do? The cities need to have vapor lounges for cannabis. They have been trying to discourage smoking/vapor cannabis lounges. Telling folks, "that's considered using cannabis in public." The cities and the state want the revenue but are unwilling to allow accommodations for use.

:nope: Washington (state) is pissing me off:

Seattle Issues Cease and Desist Notices to Medical Marijuana Dispensaries; Fails to Offer Solutions for Patients
http://www.thedailychronic.net/2014...saries-fails-to-offer-solutions-for-patients/
That article/letter has an error in it. State business licenses do NOT come from the Liquor Control Board. Just because LCB has no legislated authority to endorse (actual tech term) a medical mj business license, there are a significant number of state licensed access points all over Washington, including in Seattle.

This is not a state issue, this is a city issue. And, yes, it is a stupid issue.

I just left my dispensary and they had not received a notification as indicated in the article. They are in north seattle.

Still worrisome, but not unexpected I guess.

Leave it to seattle to over complicate just about everything.

Maybe part of that is starting with an unknown path to legalization. I agree: Oregon's laws will benefit SW Washingtonians, up to Seattle: is it worth 3 1/2 hrs of driving to save $400/ounce? To many, or should I say, too many, will find it worth the trip.

PROSSER, Wash. - Washington state's first marijuana auction brought in about $600,000.

Fireweed Farms of Prosser sold about 300 pounds of pot to state-licensed processors and retailers Saturday, the Tri-City Herald reported (http://is.gd/JsJp6T ). Bidding took place under a black tent fronted by tall heaters, and the event was monitored by at least two representatives of the Washington Liquor Control Board. Bidders could smell plastic bags of buds before offering a bid.

The marijuana was planted in May and harvested between late September and mid-October. Fireweed Farms owner Randy Williams had sold some of his marijuana to recreational processors earlier this year, but the auction represented the bulk of his product.

Williams said he planned to donate proceeds from three lots, totalling $14,000, to local schools.

Nobody was able to try out the goods before you bought.

Super-Potent Strain a Top Seller in WA
Tags: cannabis potency, cinder, God's Gift, washington recreational marijuana

High-potency strains are a big hit with customers in Washington State’s new recreational market, it seems.

The Spokane-based rec shop Cinder reports that its top seller in recent days is a God’s Gift strain thatboasts a THC potency level of nearly 32%.

Cinder owner Justin Peterson told a local TV station that it’s one of the strongest strains he’s ever come across. Most cannabis strains currently sold in Washington typically fall between 18% and 24% on the THC scale, he said.

With such a high level of potency, customers who buy the strain don’t have to smoke as much to get high. And at $22 a gram, it’s also priced much lower than some other high-potency options, which might help explain its popularity.

Recreational shops in Colorado and dispensaries across the country have also seen a spike in demand for cannabis with higher potency levels. But the same is true on the other end of the spectrum: many consumers and patients, particularly light users, are increasingly seeking low-potency options so they can still function.

32% that seems really high? There maybe some exaggeration? God's Gift is a great strain.

12,000 joints rolled for Super Bowl '12th Pack'

Sostice employees are working double-time to fill orders of their new 12th Pack in time for the Super Bowl.

"It's not like I go home with cramps or anything," Katy Filippone said.

Filippone is a pre-roll aficionado, but even for her, the joint-rolling speed inside Solstice's production room is moving fast. She's rolling about 180-220 joints in an 8-hour shift. That's double her normal pace.

The 12th Pack sold out within 15 minutes of Solstice releasing their video. So, the medical marijuana supplier decided to light up production.

"We definitely weren't ready for the speed of it," said Joe Santucci. "We've had to switch everything over. We have stopped trimming. We have stopped packing capsules."

McLean Sale would normally be trimming flowers, but not Wednesday. Solstice has moved everybody to rolling and packing.

"Sort of a crash course in how to how to hold the tube and prep the goods," Sale said. "There's no wasted movements."

They've set their goal at 2,000 joints per day.

Already, Patriots fans have made comments, calling Solstice and their consumers "stoners".
Solstice now plans on 12,000 joints, or 1,000 12th Packs, by Super Bowl Sunday. The 12th Pack is filled with their Seahawk Blend, the loudest they've got.

"Upon harvest, you know in the whole building," Santucci said.

By next season, Solstice plans to sell the 12th Pack for recreational users. The 12th Pack will be available in 26 stores across Washington by game day.

"I feel like I'm more invested in it now this year. I really want them to win," Filippone laughed.

Marijuana vending machine makes Seattle debut
Liza Javier, KING 5 News3:25 p.m. PST February 3, 2015
SEATTLE -- Seattle residents can now purchase cannabis the same way they buy soda and snacks – right out of a vending machine.

The ZaZZZ marijuana vending machine opened Tuesday morning at Seattle Caregivers, a medical marijuana dispensary. Arizona-based American Green, the company behind the vending machine, says it's the first age-verifying, climate controlled, self-service dispensary.

"A few years ago we recognized the fact that Uncle Harvey's dive bar that was giving out cigarettes 40 years ago. The 21st century was here and maybe we can upgrade on that because dispensing machines are a very effective way to service the public," said Stephen Shearin, president and COO of American Green.

According to a news release, the vending machines will be stocked by Seattle Caregivers and provide a "wide range of medicinal and recreational marijuana flowers, pot-infused edibles and merchandise." The temperature controlled vending machines are equipped with an advanced ID-scanner to verify a user's identity, age and additional data before dispensing selected items.

Shearin says there's never an unattended machine. There's always an employee around to check ID before you purchase.

Well if you need somewhere to toss out all that weed before it rots, we Californians are very clever, I think we can figure out a way to dispose of it!

The WA legal recreational stores prices are still around $13 to $15 a gram. The medical dispensaries is $8 - $12 a gram. The rec prices have come down from $25 a gram from last summer.

I can go to a mmj farmers market and buy from the growers for around $5 - $7 a gram and it's all organic.
