Right. I've had my iolite for over a year and really want it to work but imo it's a piece of shit. I've used Newport, colibri and the quality of material is top drawer too. I own several vapes and really really want this wee vape to perform but get wispy vapor at best. Help?
Get a wispr if you want higher temps.

Once unit is going, try leaving it sit for a full minute and come back to it.

If that does not help, then you might contact Iolite.
They do take units back if you have a receipt and tell them it it does not get hot enough.
I see you have had the unit for a year.
The warranty is two years.
The process is simple... I have done it, and they exchange the unit for a new one once they verify unit is sub-par.
Call them at 1-888-710-3055.

Hmmmm cheers. Dunno if it's a sub par unit but then again. 370 gets good vapour from most other devices I've owned so might try that. Thanks.

Hi guys!

I've read many good things about the Iolite 2.0, also in this forum, so I ordered one. But when it arrived I was a little worried because it looked different than in the pictures on the internet. In all the pictures I can find the grip panel that comes in different colors seems to be a little bold. Mine had just some kind of flat sticker on it. Maybe you can see what I mean on the picture below.

The customer service of the online shop where I bought my Iolite couldn't explain why this was. But I could send it back to exchange it. I told them to send the green version this time, just to be sure. Guess what, the new one looks the same as the first one!

The online shop looks quite trustfull and I ordered some other vaporizers there and never had a problem. Also they told me that they would buy the products directly from Iolite. It even has a serial number on it and it's just the grip panel that looks different. I send an email to Iolite about the issue but I didn't recived an answer yet. That's why I'm asking you guys:

Does anyone has some information that Iolite changed the design? Has anyone seen similar units?

The grip panel it self isn't such a big deal but just want to be sure that my Iolite is legit. Looking forward to hear your opinions!

First off, welcome to the Forum and all the fun. Good choice in vape IMO, feed it good fuel.

I don't know what others think, but the maker seems to think they're legit:
http://www.iolite.com/our-vaporizers/iolite-vaporizers.html

I don't know when this might have happened, but 'lower profile' has been a customer request for some time, perhaps they're listening? There should be screws under the cover on one side that hold the unit together.

I suggest you enjoy you Iolite, IMO it's a great one for what it does. As a suggestion, get a scale that will weigh to 100 grams by .1 steps, it's very useful for determining fuel load (once you know your 'dry weight').

Regards.

Call 1-888-710-3055
Ask for Chris, Kate, or Scott (Iolite knowledgeable support)
Ask if the padded grip panel was changed from 3 dimennsional to a 2 dimensional sticker.
You will get an answer that is definitive.
@OF - The image images in the link you provided all have the puffy grip, and not a flat 2 dimensional one.

@OF @Vitolo thanks for your replies!

I couldn't call the number because I'm not in the US. I sent an other email and this time they replied really fast. Here is the answer:

"Thank you for contacting us yes your iolite is legit, we recently changed our labels to 2 dimensional as our older labels were lifting." (Iolite)

So nothing to worry about. Time to enjoy my new Iolite!

It seems my backup as clogged lines, I've tried emptying and purging 4-5 times and no luck. It pushes fuel but not nearly as well as my new unit.. Help?

I had one like that, I decided it might be dissolved junk washed into the works. I filled it with clean fuel and left it outside running but not lit and it 'fixed itself'. You might try that?

When you say 'not as well' are you talking sound? Not all mine sound the same, but all work fine. Does it flow enough gas so it makes temperature and cycles off? Hard, really, to ask more than that. How does the 'cycle time' compare between the two units are the on and off times at idle similar?

It's not nearly as loud and cycles a lot more often when it does light. Lately it's been really finicky. I'll try leaving it on at work later (very well ventilated, too cold outside here, low 20s)

Thanks. I'm afraid I didn't ask a clear enough question, the issue is duty cycle. The ratio of on and off times. If one is 4 seconds on, 16 off (1:4) that's the same as the one that's 2 on and 8 off (or 10 on and 40 off) as far as the 'burner' goes. The difference in scale is simply the 'deadband' (difference between 'turn off' and 'turn on' temperatures). One might 'swing' 10 degrees, another 5 or 20. The fact it cycles at all says it's burning at least enough fuel for the job.

Being more quiet and cycling faster is likely to be seen as a good thing by others?

Good luck in any case.

No clue on ratio,

Regarding the quietness and quick cylcles, abv doesn't get nearly as dark.

Cool. Next time you're really really bored you might time them.......

ABV color has noting to do with sound or cycle times. That is controlled by the bimetallic disk in the thermostat section. It seems it's maintaining temperature (cycling on and off as needed), just not the temperature you want. No 'fix' for that save replacement I think.

I guess I was hoping maybe it would reach full heat it if got full fuel through the lines. Thanks OF

I know that one, but a bigger motor won't make you go faster if cruse control is limiting. Best you can do is get there faster.......

Yer welcome, good luck with it.

Wow! If I didn't already have a backup for my backup Iolite........

Yes, I've got one 'in the vape box' for routine use when the urge strikes, and a (backup) in a small 'war bag' with gas and a couple grams of stash for spur of the moment road trips or other opportunities and a 'brand new' (but tested) one in reserve. That's how much I admire the Iolite.

I've also given a couple away to deserving friends.

While the price is indeed tempting, I hear a little voice........ Nobody needs a backup for the backup's backup, right?

I bought 6 of them the last time they were on sale at half price!
I never regretted it.... they were absorbed into the community as fast as can be.
I still have one new one as a spare.
My advice to any Iolite fan... or wannabe fan is to jump on this one!
At any given moment that you have buyers remorse,or are in need an Iolite at this cost can be "unloaded" with joyous parties on both sides of the deal.
