Arizer Solo

I had both the V Tower and the Extreme Q but never actually had to call Arizer for any problems. This is defnitely a plus and after reading more pages of this thread is seems as if the arizer people are quick to respond.

Is the warrenty on this product very good? Are the folks at arizer easy to deal with? I'm trying to decide between this and an MFLB with power adapter. I'll mostly be using it as an at Home vape but will bring it around. I've owned a V-Tower, Extreme Q, Da Buddha, and vapebowl in the past which have all served their purpose but I want something smaller.
... my first was MFLB & it made me ecstatic; next, a Gpen for RSO(fail) & the SOLO is the greatest on the planet for use as a portable and for 1 person @ home if you can plug it in!
If you've been pleased w/MFLB, you'll be awed by the SOLO! ... and keep visiting here ... you'll learn lots!

I'm a noob here - it's great!

How come the arizer is so cheap at planetvape in comparison to other places?
Hey ars3nault,

Check out @PuffItUp if you email Randy, he is a member here look at the vendor thread, they will price match. I just bought a new solo from them, dealt with Randy, and he price matched an Ebay vendor plus a grinder, screens and o-rings for $9 more, and free 2 day shipping. Plus they'll pay shipping both ways for warranty issues, best deal around.

The warranty should be just as good as any others (but the fact you may not need to even think about it for awhile is great). I just got one and right out of the box it was PERFECT.

My first was the MFLB and it does not compare to the Solo. It's neat but there is just no comparison. I tried others before I got the Solo and was disappointed by a couple with many problems. Once I got the Solo it was strait to vaping with amazing results! Get one and you will see for yourself :)

Thanks. New model, modest use, but went seriously low in charge while the charger was lost? But charging and battery life returned for a few weeks then sudden death? You got the normal number of sessions from your last charge?

TIA. I'm starting to wonder if the new style deals with a locked out battery differently.......IIRC I tested the old style for this........

That's the long and short of it. Seriously low charge until I got the new charger. Worked for a typical number of sessions with the new charger twice and then...kaput.

I emailed the vendor and got this reply:

Thanks for contacting us and we're sorry to hear that. You may be able to manually reset your Solo. Please try the following:

Plug the charger into the wall outlet
Plug the charger into the Solo unit
press and hold both buttons for approximately 4 seconds
wait for 10 seconds then unplug from charger

If this doesn't resolve the problem and it's consistently doing this we can provide our return instructions so we can test out the unit.

I tried this several times with no results at all. I guess I will be sending it back. Sucks, too, because I don't have anything to use as my on-the-go vape now. :(

Thanks for the additional info. The hammered battery makes sense, but it it recovered to a couple of at least close to normal sessions it should have continued on you'd think. Perhaps there was a flaw in one cell that showed up after the stress?

Perhaps others with similar experience can add more information, but for now I'm still thinking battery problem......

I just shot Randy a PM let's see what he can do :)

Sorry for the the double post here. But they're selling these things on Ebay for 128US right now. That's barely more expensive than an MFLB holy smokes!

Yeah, THAT is the problem. It looks like something out some war.
It just needs a FlavorFlav watch on the side, and the proverbial red and green wires to snip. I try vaping on that thing in public and people stare like you're suckin' on ordnans.
Fernando you must be young to vaporize in public?
You don't have a crib?

Has anyone thought of Solo Cozies with cans as the exterior. Also whom is making them.

Yes, of course. All the good ideas are already exhausted......

It's been a while, but the first Solo I ever saw came out of a 7 Up can with the top cut out. The owner had gone from a 12 ounce can to the 7 ounce size (eliminated the foam he had around the first) he said because the smaller can was easier to hold.

I don't take mine out in public, so personally have never done it.

AFAIK all attempts are home made. The custom stem from PV is the only commercial stealth product I can think of?

I was arrested for having .3 on me this summer. IN CANADA. I got off and everything is fine after a small donation to the food bank but still ridiculous. I was not rude to the cop or anything of the sort and was not 'asking for it' by any means. For that reason I can't let myself vape while in public (unless in a park or something).

ars3nault,
Update: After several failures, I emailed the vendor for return instructions. That seemed to be the missing piece because I tried the "reset" instructions one more time....and it seems to have worked! Solo is charging right now or seems to be. It's plugged in and the green charge light is flashing as it should with no other flashing at the moment. I'm almost scared to look at it to long for fear of psychosematically fucking it up. LOL

Edit: Short-lived. Seemed to be charging regularly for about 20 minutes and then the red flashing light and seven flashing heat lights again. Unplugged and tried to turn on...nothing. Plugged back in..flashing.

I don't know what to make of this.

Edit of my edit: Decided to see if it would come on after sitting for a few hours and it did! Fired right up and gave me a full session just like normal. A couple hours after the session, since I know it didn't get much of a charge last attempt, I'm charging it and it's charging well so far. Holding my breath...

First post here! Been lurking on this thread for a few weeks now and I'm wondering: what are the rubber o-rings for? And is there anything other than that that can help fix any design flaws?

They are intended to grip the bent stem enough to keep it from rotating in use. They also have the effect of reducing the airflow past the stem seal as the seal loosens up (some find a negative).

I don't think you can honestly say they fix any design flaws since the maker does not consider loose stems to be a flaw, that is he says it's normal.

In any event, be careful if you decide to experiment with them, top cap thicknesses vary a lot as does the exact location of the top of the oven. It's possible to make it so tight that you break the small retaining tabs on the bottom by pushing the internal parts down with the cap.

Understood. I'll probably pick some up whenever the unit I'll but is going to have this issue. Now I just have to find a good deal for Canada. Shipping from the US can be expensive.

Planet Vape is in Canada, sells the right type rings cheap and includes them with new units they sell. I recommend them as they have an excellent price ($160 shipped), excellent service and are a strong supporter of these Forums.
