both as they are the only weak points on the 8 and rated for 6 amps.

thank you for the support.
I've been lurking on here for the last month or so and no one seems to be asking the questions I care about so I went to all the trouble of making this account JUST TO TALK TO YOU my good sir. I hope I made your day special.

I'm in college and have two rigs, a Pax for the day and an Omicron for at night.(I find the persei too fat) While I'm out and about I use my Pax as it doesn't put me on my ass and I can function through school and the gym. When I get home I can't Pax due to smell on account of school policy and whatnot. I've been running kiss carts for a while, and could get away with toking in the same room as other non smokers with the kiss carts. Dare I say I could blow it in their face and they wouldn't be any the wiser. The only problem is they always die on me after a month or so one day I got fed up and I pulled the trigger on the hercules.

Now here's the problem: The Hercules makes my entire floor reek. I don't mind the size, weight or even the hunger it has but it's kind of lost it's main use for me. I even put it back in it's box due to how little use it sees. I love the Kiss carts, and about a month ago you made a post saying that rebuild kits were finalized and being packaged so I decided to wait on the kits. I spent a wax free month checking on updates for the rebuilds for my good ol' kiss carts. Now theres rumblings of a 1701 and Ti coils for the Globes but nothing for the old kiss carts?

I've done my research and I can rebuild a Nichrome Kiss cart. But chemistry class taught me that Nickel is a cracinogen and anything that comes in direct contact with it becomes one as well. I've broken quite a bit of glass in my day and want no part of these globes despite their superior ceramic. which brings me to my 3 questions

1: When if ever will the rebuild kits be released?

2: Will said rebuild have titanium wire?

3: Will rebuild kits feature the new ceramic?

Sorry for the life story it's just dropping 30 bucks on essentially a titanium wire makes me depressed. Especially with my dead carts lying around which I cleaned a month ago in anticipation of the rebuild kits. I'd be happy to rebuild on my own if they're not Ti wire, but I just want to know as it seems like they're never even going to come out :/

Well I just received my surplus SR-71 from W9. Looks good and measures 1.7 ohms (I prefer 1.5 ohms but this will certainly do). BUT my new SR-71 did not come with an oil coil. I thought that 1 Ti coil was supposed to be included. I'll PM Naomi @nao12000 and see if she can send one out for me.

I swore my next purchase from W9 would be an Iris v2 but I just couldn't pass up such a deal to get another SR-71. It is by far my favorite vape even without an Iris. I've been using a SR-71 as my daily driver for almost a year now. I've gone through about 25 grams of wax total.

So... I now have 3 SR-71s and 9 total 7.4v heating rods (7 are 1.5 ohms and two are 1.7 ohms). I also have spare oil coils and a bunch of those little white washers. I think I'm just about ready for the zombie apocalypse .

For those asking about the SR-71 / SR-74 difference, like @Mynameismud said, the SR-71 is more powerful. A 1.5 ohm heater is 50% more powerful than a 2.3 ohm heating rod. Plus, 1.5 ohms is the perfect resistance for use with the Iris. It gives the widest possible power range while keeping the current below 5 amps. But, a word of warning to those new SR-71 users. Check resistance during and after assembly. Get an ohm meter and learn how to use it. The SR-71s would sometimes developed shorts. If the heating rod retaining nut was not tightened enough the rod position would shift causing a short. Also, any additional resistance in the path due to a loose connection can be a real performance killer.

@THC SCIENTIFIC what's the latest word on the Iris v2?

1. I have to see when the rebuild kits will be shipped out to us.

2. The kit will have 3 feet of titanium wire.

3. The kit will also have the ceramic wicks.

@Hedonismbot I do apologize we couldnt get the Ti coils in the hercules kits as we are on short list atm and only have enough to fill orders for the next month while we produce more.

As for the Iris V2 we have the final circuit boards done and waiting on the housing for final assembly and test and into production it goes.

Great service Mr G.

Will said ceramic be the grey porous type or the traditional white?

If you had to guess are we talking months or weeks before I'm able to buy the rebuild kit?

I can wait for the oil coil since I have spares. But  I just realized that I didn't get a stainless steel top cap with my SR-71. Is this part back-ordered too or was this an oversight? I just fully disassembled the whole thing and all the other parts are there.

Did anyone else get their surplus SR-71 yet?

Still waiting on mine. I ordered 2 units. I hope mine come complete and at least one Ti coil. Hopefully tomorrow I will receive my order. Talking about the iris. My iris v1 is finally starting to give me problems. It served me well. Randomly shuts off and refuses to turn back on. After a few tries it start working.

Top cap should have been included. Let me take care of this on Monday.

Just thought I'd post that, thanks to all the generous help, my wallet hates all of you. Waiting for my Persei, SR71, extra batteries, and stealth kit to arrive.

Here's hoping that you all serve as my muse and this turns out to be a worthy purchase.

You're wel ;)

It was almost a year ago I purchased almost exactly what you did, and once past the Herc's learning curve, it's been pretty smooth sailing. And best of all, the issues I did have were solvable by making adjustments. Being able to service it myself instead of the added expense of warranty shipping.

Here's some things I learned.

Take care when removing or inserting the rod
Pay attention to getting the proper rod depth before tightening.
Don't service it or read the manual while vaked.
Be careful with the small pieces, so they aren't lost. (reason for previous rule)
Use fresh fully charged quality batteries. Extra sets highly recommended for power users.
Don't overheat and don't overfill. These two things greatly reduce leaking into the bottom reclaim chamber.

Rebuild kits as promised.

3 feet of Ti Grade 2 wire
Non resistance wire
Ceramic wicks
Couplers

$29.99

A bit of glare in the pic there, can't see how many wicks.... How many rebuilds will a set be good for?

Also are the insulators included?

Glad the wicks are of the better grey variety :p

Gentlemen and scholars of the FC forum I require your knowledge.

I have reason to believe my charger will soon die on me, as the prongs wiggle significantly. I've heard that people use other chargers I was wondering what brand was the best value for money. Ideally a charger that lasts but speed is not a priority.

While I'm at it I might upgrade batteries if anyone knows of anything that will work in the Omicron and outperform the AW IMR 14500's.

Help me my brothers

Nitecore seem so be the recommended charger brand, although I have not purchased one myself...yet. Search Nitecore charger on amazon for many options (both in price and number of batteries able to be charged).
As for the batteries, I think the AW's have been the proven winner, so the best option is to buy more. When battery life became an issue for me,I purchased THE Core( variable voltage AC/car adaptor) then later I upgraded to the Persei.

Pretty sure I'm gonna try to sell my herc. It really doesn't work as expected. I get mid-sized clouds (Globe blows bigger) and an alright taste. My biggest gripe is that it takes 45+ seconds to get it working

EDIT: OH AND THE DRIP. WHY DOES IT ALL DRIP DOWN TO THE BOTTOM

10 wicks I think and 2 insulators will be included.

May I ask which batteries are you using? Which version of the Herc? And how much is being loaded?

As for oil in the bottom can this is because it's not being cooled down or your pressing the button and not inhaling.

Thanks friend.

I don't see a need for a core unless I spammed the Herc which I can't do indoors for smell reasons and I fear using it while driving will assuredly make me crash and die the one day I feel tough and overload a dab xD

I run the Omicron for ergonomic reasons, the Persei feels too fat and heavy in hand in my opinion.

I saw a pic on here before of an Omicron looking device with a red button, not sure if its the new persei or iris? Thing looked slick as fuck

I'm holding off on upgrading until there's a top with a battery indicator though. I don't understand how I can be expected to dab and monitor the charge of my batteries... Yeah lemme go drink and ride a unicycle while I'm at it.

Might have been @DieHard 's hammer top with the red jewel on the button. I really like the hammer top with the herc. And a jewel.

I'm positive it wasn't. The thing looked like a black Omicron, with a ladybug sticker and a pressure sensor instead of a button as well as a red light that was strong enough to be seen through the finger on a camera.

I say it looked like an Omicron because of the form factor. As the Persei uses a fat battery and is hence fatter.

@THC SCIENTIFIC I'm stoked to see that my boy Matt started carrying your products at Utopia in NY. I had been trying to get them to carry UP Tech gear for a long time now, and I made him a convert with a TI KISS cart.

@THC SCIENTIFIC Is it correct that these new SR71 kits are not compatible with the Nibbler XL?

Also any idea when the Globe will be back in stock. I am eager to pick one up now that the Nibble GN has been released!

3 weeks should be back in stock.

The sr71 doesn't have the same bottom adapter as the originals amd the 74's.

Please tell me how you like it, I'm trying to decide between the nibble g, nibbler gn, and the okeanos. Though I'll probably end up getting an okeanos and one of the nibblers. I really like the kiss globes and I'm just waiting for people to talk about how they like the okeanos.

I noticed the bottom adapter didn't have the grooves for the o-rings, so I tried my nibbler XL and it seems to still work OK. As long as the top o-ring on the mouthpiece makes an airtight seal it works. It's just a little less stable.

Oh, I also wanted to mention that there is no AAF washer in the SR-71 kit. That's fine by me, I think the airflow of the Herc is fine as is.
