The Lotus Vaporizer

A taste on the tongue
I guess it depends on your lung capacity and how much you fill it up.

Using the Lotus scoop, I can vape 1 scoop in 1 hit easily. 2 scoops (about 0.1g) is like 1 enormous hit, 1 wispy hit to get the AVB to almost super dark brown.

I never had the skill to heat up to a one hitter without combustion. I did find 3 to 4 hits to roast a full bowl (I guess my loads) but as time has passed. I find more lower density hits gets me more medicated. I do 10 plus easily per load.

That's IMO the real attraction of it is the hit versatility it gives.

Well and the sheer fun of using it.

How many of the scoops in total can it hold?

A kingsize bowl version would appeal to me @Max Jitter I think a lot of current owners would buy a large one to accompany the standard one.

Can you guys actually finish a bowl in 1 hit? Maybe I'm doing something wrong but on my Herbalizer, I vape for 10-15 minutes (don't have my lotus yet - it was supposed to arrive today but it didn't. Stupid USPS).

Depends if I want to milk my bubbler or not. Sometimes I enjoy starting high with the heat to get it going, and then pulling back on the torch so the shadow flame dances over the plate while I continue to milk the lotus until the glass runs clean.

I can only clear a load in a single hit if it's a moderate load or smaller. Full size loads (two scoops) is too much to finish in one good hit!

Man. I am totally bummed out. My Lotus was supposed to be here yesterday. USPS came and went with no delivery. I checked the mail earlier. While my mail for the has been delivered, no Lotus again. :( I was really hoping to put it through its paces this weekend...

:( Well, the good news is that Priority Mail delivers on Saturday (at least here) so you have one more chance. I hate waitin for stuff...
Except that it's being delivered to my office and I don't work on the weekends. I will swing by to pick it up if it's delivered tomorrow but I'm worried that it's actually lost. I need to get it before my canoe trip in 2 weeks so there's still time.

BUT I WANT MY LOTUS NOWWWWW!!!!!111!! (I should just hit my herbie to help me calm down, eh?)

If the status still says in transit, or out for delivery, try not to worry about it being lost. It's like watching water boil - I feel ya! But if the status suggests that it was already delivered, definitely get on the horn and get the trace process started.

Good luck. You'll enjoy your Lotus!

Redux:

Here's a short test video from the first night with the Lotus plus D020--2--W. The bubbler is immaculate, btw. Still learning water levels on her, but construction is so solid it's ridiculous. Retailed from an LHS it would have been $140 (which I have seen, unfortunately), but at $30 and two weeks of waiting, this is easily the best glass purchase I've made paired with the best vaporizer purchase I've made.

Got my Lotus earlier today and just test drove it. Pretty damn sweet.
Congrats, brother. Thought you might like to see the vid. Take note, you need a F/F 18-14 glass adapter if you want this one for the Lotus.
i was able to get that hit i was missing i feel like a fool:doh::lmao::lol:. Thnx for all the tips they were real helpful and i will be using my lotus a lot more now:tup:.
Glad to be of service!

All good ideas and deserve some thought.
I think what everyone's really asking for is an 18mm Lotus, Mr. Jitter

Nice!

The D020-2-w really is an impressive bubbler with the right adapter for the Lotus. I love that 18-14 f/f you got. My 18-14 reducer on top of a f/f puts the cap a little too high. I just picked up a Lotus from the classifieds to give to a good buddy who loves the Lotus. I think I'm going to let him borrow mine for a while until he can buy his own from dhgate!

Yeah, I usually inhale faster during the second half of the hit to mitigate combustion risk.

I don't see the Lotus holding more than 3 scoops, even with a super fine grind.

I would also like a big bowl. Wider and deeper, make it so that it can fit 18mm pieces.

Hey Lotus thread! Been heavily considering a flame based portable and I'm currently leaning towards the Lotus. The only portable I've owned and used so far is the Arizer Solo. I don't like the draw resistance though. I was wondering how the draw resistance was with the Lotus? The other vapes I've used are the SSV, Extreme Q, and Solo for comparisons.

You will draw with much less resistance with the Lotus which will lead to much shorter and more potent hits!

Hey guys, I recently read through the past 90 pages or so and I'm pretty convinced the Lotus is going to be my next vape purchase. :D
Since I missed the Labor Day sale on the official site, I'm wondering if there are any downsides to ordering from EZ vape and using the FC16 code. I would prefer to order it straight from the manufacturer, but if there isn't going to be another sale for a while and using EZ vape gets me the same thing, I figure why not order it sooner? I'm really looking forward to when I get my hands on a Lotus!

It's here!

Can't wait to try it out tonight.

Any videos or tutorials on using it you all would recommend?
I've seen it suggested to watch a whole bunch of YouTube videos of people milking their pieces with the Lotus. There are plenty and it should give you a starting point.

PRACTICE! Go gentle, and learn how to vape before you try MILKING! You don't need to cache a whole load in one hit, go easy with the heat and learn how to produce flavorful hits first. The videos are a start, but there's nothing like hands on practice with the Lotus

Homework DONE!

Finished a bowl in 3 hits. Got nice mostly toasty brown ABV. There was some slight inconsistency in the herb after the 3 hits and I may have had one more left in it, but I was done. The hit was smooth and tasty until the very end when I got some minor throat irritation.

I love it. It's so elemental. There's something nice about something so mechanical after all this time in the digital world. And, I'm usually the one who needs the latest tech gadget (you know I'll be in line on the 19th when the new iPhone goes on sale!).

I now have 2 analog things in my life: my wristwatch (totally mechanical, not even self-winding!) and my Lotus. I think I'm going to grow to love my Lotus like I love my watch.

Cheers dudes! You played a part in me going for the Lotus and it has, over the last week or so, become the vape that asks all the questions here. I bought the J-hook combo from MT and a sick piece of glass from Bent. When you get the technique down you can get gargantuan hits off of this little thing! And it pays its own bills after a couple of weeks. Homage to Lotus !!!1

I've been noticing when I finish my bowl and it looks pretty golden brown, when i attempt to ash the herbs it sticks a bit to the bowl (this was in both the Al and J-hook). Was wondering if this is just the nature of the beast or?

It seems like this would happen a little moister herbs, but I store mine in a pollen box and they have been in there for 2-3 months. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks

I get build up of powder oiled goo that sticks to the bowl and the gauze I find a couple of blasts on flame with the lid on a) gives a couple of hits b) allows the powder goo to dry and be blown out removed with the stirrer

Thanks @cityslang - Just to clarify, by gauze you mean the metal screen that forms the bottom of the bow?

And also, when you give a couple blasts of flame with lid on, is the lid the Lotus doughnut, bowl ?
