i cant wait for this new kiss cart. I have burnt out a few 7.4 kiss carts that i am going to try and rebuild. I like the 3.7 kiss cause it is a little more forgiving. I Know this was asked once before but is there a possibility u could get a spare nut for the herc so that i could buy another rod and have almost another whole setup without actually buying a whole new herc? And it would be nice if w9 also sold the little collar for the persei or design the core adapter to not need one like the ss kits.

haha and if there is a line 8th

I was wondering about that actually. Where have people gotten the little collars for the gap between the core persei adapter and the hammer top? I figured I could find an o-ring or a spacer at Home Depot, not really an issue though so I haven't tried. Wanted to see if I could find anything cool before I just went for filler.

Also thank you @DieHard , she's even prettier now. You sir, are a gentlemen of quality.

Hi, how does KISS carts handle less than pure oil? ie: bho/concentrates that would clog the old carts. Is there more maintenance involved when using such quality of concentrates? Do the carts store fine in any position or is it suggested to leave them upright? Thank you for any help.

bump. can anyone help me with this or point me to some information? thank you.

Low quality/dirty concentrates will build up quickly on the wick and coil, rendering the wick nonabsorbant and the coil too separarated from your fresh load to get it hot enough to vaporize.

Luckily, the KISS carts are cleanable, and you can soak them in the highest strength isopropyl alcohol you can get your hands on (99% is best) and use a toothpick (no metal tools!) to clean away the carbon buildup and get your cart working good as new. Tip: If you put the cart into a small ziploc bag, it takes hardly any ISO to clean a cart, and you can then hold the bag in hot water to really help that oil dissolve into the alcohol!

You won't be loading enough concentrate into a KISS cart to worry about it leaking out. Optimally, only loading enough to soak into the wick, one or two hits worth, will get you the best performance out of the KISS with the longest intervals between cleanings. It's often excess oil pooling under the wick that gets reheated and cools down over and over that tastes a little funky after a bit of use- load tiny amounts and keep it simple!

I'm looking to pick up a Persei but I'm not real sure which cart to go with. The KISS carts don't look like they'll hold more than a dab at a time and I'd much rather be able to just load .5g and nurse that for a while. SR-74 seems to be the best available but it's out of stock anyway. The regular EO cart might be what I need but I'm not real clear on if those are one-time use or if I can just iso soak and refill them or not.

They've sort of been on my radar for a while now but I'm still totally new to UP stuff and if I'm honest, a bit overwhelmed by the number of options and attachments and upcoming products. I'm not real sure what an optimal UP Tech setup would really even look like so any advice would be appreciated. I have a handful of 18650s if that helps but I'm not married to them if there's a better option.

The older oil carts can hold up to 1g and last a long time but every do often need to be reprimed to provide good vapor the herc is absolutely the best but to find one now you may need to check vaporqarehouse or other sites instead of direct from w9 or you could order a couple of the older oil carts and wait till the herc is back in stock on w9 either way your going to want to order some of the AW18350 batteries minimum 2 to run a herc 4 if you want a backup set

Get a persei with a sr71 or wait till the 74 is back in stock it is a great cart and you can rebuild it easy. I love my herc but i still use my kiss carts too especially if u dont have much

Great Scott!
Are we getting closer to "The 8" release?

That thing looks NIIIIICE.

EDIT:

Guess who felt like testing the "broken" persei at home out.... Turns out my dual top is just fine. So I have the SS kit I believe. 1 big tube, 1 small tube. 2 AWs. No charger yet, but persei #2 is on the way to be delivered tomorrow and that has a charger and other IMRs.

So whats the deal with voltages. Thats something I need to make sure I have right.

3.7v and 7.4v will work with any tops correct? Its just a matter of choosing the right voltage for that particular cart?

I have a pile of 18650s. Those are 3.7v and should work on basically anything, worst case won't have enough power to power something made for 7.4v, but no chance of frying shit?

I have 2 AW 18350s, and 2 other 18350s. They are 3.7v each so 3.7v for carts that are made for that, and if I stack 2 of them its 7.4v correct?

If anything is wrong please correct it. Making sure to use the right voltage is the hardest part for me right now, but I'm sure it'll be easy once I learn which carts need which voltage etc.

Is there any way to tell which voltage is for which cart? I have the minicron coming. Maybe for fun I will use it on the persei just to practice different setups with the correct voltage needed?

Super excited that I basically have a persei SS kit (I believe thats it) sitting here to play with, and a brand new one on the way. I thought I'd have to send this back. Any downsides or things I can't do with the dual top? I wish I could get just a normal single top without a hammer, but it sounds like the final revision is about to come out, so I'll wait patiently for that.

EDIT#2:

I see the minicron is a kiss cart 3.7v. If I'm understanding that means I can run it in the "mini persei" setup with just 1 3.7v 18350 for stealth, or I can run it in the bigger persei with the 18650 which is also 3.7v.

However if I put 2 of the 18350's it'll be 7.4 and I'm gunna have a bad time and fry the cart?

I think I'm finally getting it.

1 18350 3.7 v so 2 in the persei tube is 7.4 or u can run one 18650 for 3.7 or get a ss setup and run one 18350 in it for 3.7v operation

I think you would benefit from reading the instruction manual. instructions are on w9tech.com

someone i setup with a Persei Kiss 3.7v, just texted me that the button burned out. I assume he means that the head is shorted out.
he has had it for well over a year, using the stock 18650s that came with the old packages.

what is his best option? i think its the $65+ head replacement deal, but perhaps he should buy a hammer top or a whole new set-up.

edit to add: Omicron stuff would be an option also, since he doesn't have a Herc and i suspect his batteries are on the way out.

Personal preference dawg! If he's not ever interested in a Herc or anything besides kiss carts - hard to imagine - my favorite is an Omicron HVD with the SS kit. vaporwarehouse sells the Omicron Mini which gets you the HVD top and a standard bottom cap, then add the SS kit and a pair of 14250's. That setup kills it with KISS carts, globes, and EO carts. But it'd actually be more expensive to put together than just buying the warranty service!!!

Ahh, the mythical 1701 cart resurfaces. Originally the 1701 was the holy-grail-leak-proof cart that could handle Pure Gold without leaking (IIRC). But since then the name has been proposed for several other things. Perhaps the Enterprise will finally dock with my lungs in 2014!

Me too.

There is a reason why it's named after the Enterprise but it's still in early stages.

It's not for the cloud chasers but for the snobs who want to taste it.

Although it can produce clouds when we introduce the Final piece of the puzzle.

This question is for someone who owns both sr71 and sr74. Is there a significant difference between both? I really want to get the 71 but if there not all that different i think ill just stick to the 74. But if the 71 is better in vapor production and taste ill pull the trigger on it. Thanks everyone!

I'm wondering about any SR-71 --(I HAVE 74-X) comparisons ?? or any info that will make me understand the difference in a technical way maybe ?

I prefer the center pin/rod set-up of the 71, but they are close enough in function that it doesn't really matter which you get.

new herc users tend to do better starting with the hearing rod of the 74. It heats a bit slower than the 71 rod, letting the heat penetrate further out into the solid oils, without causing the burned taste.

my 71 still uses the 71 rod, so it requires pulsing of the power to keep from overheating the oil.
when i put it on the Core, i dial down the power to 7 volts.

The main difference between the sr74x and the sr71 is the power the rods have. The sr71 has a lot more power than the sr74.

Also like it was mentioned the sr71 is completely user serviceable...no spring in the center post that can go bad...and similar with the bottom adapter...

Also the sr71 is capable of using the sr74 rod while the sr74 cannot use the sr71 rod...

If you plan on buying an iris v2 whenever they come out I would highly suggest an sr71 as the sr74 just doesn't have a good range to play with on that VV top
