Underdog Log Vapes

WOW-EPIC ViDEO. :clap:  Thanks paytonpenn for sharing.

OMG you guys are too much.I am just putting this here because I was to the point of putting it under four people.

I will be attempting to emulate a portion of this over the weekend when my Air Core arrives. Though I don't think I'll leave the couch til Monday morning if I even do a third as much.

So excited to get my dog, will probably act like a giddy school boy hopping from one foot to the other after running out to accost the letter carrier and forcing a tip and a kiss upon her.

Straight in to rip open the package and jam plug into the closest outlet closest before even closing the door.

Next comes the stubbing of toes and dislocating of my shoulder against the door frame as I scream into the study to grab my meds.

And finally- oblivious to stubbed toes, dislocations, and the open front door- my first vape

--Tomorrow or Saturday. So stoked

Can anybody tell me if there is anything to keep in mind on the maiden voyage. Do I need to consider anything in terms of screen placement to start off with? I imagine I may just tweak the depth after I get a bit used to things. And is heat soaking a thing that I should be considering? I have been looking at some glass, too. Thank you guys for sharing that piece, the recommendation, and link. Looks like it might be a winner and better than some of the local things here in Phoenix or on G-City.
Air core is for nylon stems and they have a notch for screen placement. Pack loose and hang on.

Yeah, it being an AirCore changes things a bit.. Nylon Stems so there's not fooling with screen placement and no VVPS so no fooling with that.

Just plug her in, wait 15-20 minutes for a good heat up, suck up a stem load and wipe the excess off the top (no packing) then stick it and the Dog together and breathe (in lol). Nap, snack, repeat as needed. :brow:

AWESOME. Thanks to all the FC UD crew for your sage advice . It is much appreciated. I have benefited from a slew of your past postings as well. I will indeed clear my calendar, the best I can, for the weekend:zzz:. I'll fill the stem loosely by sucking it in there and remember to breath in. Though if I ripped like paytonpenn I think it would be coming out my ears. :)

Am wondering, though, what my lesson plans for school will look like on Monday. Lots of art or lunacy perhaps. Hell, I bring drums, keyboards, and too many paints when I am in my left brain....Better try to make myself finish them Friday at school:science:. A great weekend to all :peace::peace::peace:.

First post here. Had been convinced to buy one of these a month or so ago and just got around to finally jumping on it. So I just ordered an Underdog last night. Is there anything I should do when first receiving it? Like rub the wax on it or run the stems empty a couple times. I hope it gets here early next week!

So just let it heat up for 20-30 minutes then enjoy? How fine of a grind do I need? I grind pretty fine for use with my Solo. Is there a tutorial video on here anywhere or is it fairly foolproof?

123vapethattree,
Its foolproof, a grind for your Solo should be fine for your UD.

There's a video above that shows off the process of what to do when you get a dog and its heated up. Suck up a stem and enjoy. 3 stems probably not required.
The one that was just posted like a page or two ago? Really shows the effectiveness of the Underdog. Is it advised to take the stem out after each hit? Is shipping quick usually?

For me its situational, I would like the stem removed after the hit about 95% of the time. 100% of the time when using glass as direct draw.

Sometimes if I may leave the stem in with the Nylon or Silicone, but that's primarily when sharing as it makes it easier for them.

My primary reason for stem removal is clearing, especially if I'm not hitting it back to back.

Thanks for the quick help. Now I just have to play the waiting game. How often do you apply the wax that comes with the underdog? On the subject of wax, is that what the copper cup is intended for? I have never used wax or anything like that and have recently gained access to it.

These birthday dogs are really stretching me thin! I totally want to dive in but I am pretty happe here with my Nano. For those that have both, is there something about the ud that would compliment the Nano or are they functionally similar?

The aromacup (copper cup) is for essential oils not concentrates. You may want to get some stainless steel wool, or ask a glass blower to make you a glass frit stem. But I don't think the UD is the best choice for concentrates, I suggest a Hammer or pen.

I honestly don't apply Underbutter very often to at all and have owned my first UD for 2 years while also running it 24/7. It is however glossier than my new UD of the same wood. I've maybe buttered my dog 30 times total.

We ship 90% of orders within 1-2 business days and only ship Priority Mail which delivers anywhere in the USA in 1-3 days so depending where you're at you're looking at 2-5 days with most being delivered 3-4 days after order.

We don't recommend leaving stems on the vape between hits as it needlessly heats the stem up and also changes the thermal qualities of the core while attached. The UD has enough thermal mass that putting/leaving stems on for 'preheating' or whatever isn't needed.

The wax application is totally up to you, anywhere from daily to monthly to never. Think of it as chapstick or moisturizer for the wood. The heat of operation will slowly dry the wood out and you just wax and recondition it whenever you feel it's looking sad and dry. Payton already addressed the other wax question so I'll defer to him.

Really I think Underdog or Nano is like asking Mac or PC, Ford or Chevy, Pepsi or Coke as they are functionally similar though of different design. They both get the same job done in a similar fashion. Both have pros and cons though I'll leave that alone as I'm obviously biased towards UDs. :peace:

Hopefully Nevada is a quick delivery then. Haha.

I am sure this as been answered somewhere in the thread already, but do the stems require screens and how much is packed into the stems? I chose to have one of each and another glass stem I think. Do they all hold the same amount?

It went out today so I would expect you'll see the package Tuesday.. if you're lucky maybe it'll show up Monday.

The stems take different amounts. The steel tipped ones I think are best used when filled flush with the top. The glass stems are more of a variable load depending on your needs. I like mine filled a little bit above the top of the formed screen. Your mileage may vary..

Just received my dog yesterday, and its awesome so far. I do have a few questions though. Can the herb get stuck in the heater core if some falls in and lead to any problems?(burnt smell?) I have dropped some in there but just tipped it over and it came out. Also, when the time comes how do i replace the screens? I have no clue how I would get them in the stems easily. Other than that, I love the Dog so far.

Usually won't lead to any problems that I've found. Like you said, just tip it over to get the herb out. At most you'll probably just a have slight burnt smell.

Just got mine. Tried putting some butter on- didn't need it. I warmed it up a bit before firing it up to burn off any lingering materials from manufacturing-didn't seem to need that either. These things are very well made, easy to use, and good to go. A fine grind will suit you well, I believe. :D
