For anyone who has had to get their evo repaired. How long of a turnaround from when it arrives at VXL?

I just asked this a few pages back and got no response, hopefully you have better luck, or more hopefully so few people are having to send them in we are having a hard time getting an answer. They received my unit 8/23/14 and I emailed today asking about it. I got a response that they are finishing it up and it will be shipping out tomorrow so I am really hoping I only go EVO less for less than three weeks total. Hope this helps.

Mine took a total of 2 weeks including shipping there and back from CA.

Managed to snag a couple of Quartz VXNs so that's something.

Got it in the mail today, can't wait to sesh after work tonight!

I think I got an early model though, no neoprene sleeve included, the rubber bands were packaged outside the box along with the mouthpiece. Is that normal or an early production run?

If it's an early model, anything I should look for that was fixed in later models I should be concerned about/worth returning over?

EDIT: Also should I leave the red caps that came on it over the intake and joint when not in use?

The neoprene sleeve smelled so I think they discontinued it. Never seen the "red caps" but I would Chuck them like Norris unless you think you might need them for your travel case when you transport your EVO or something.

Yea i really don't care too much about the sleeve my main concern is any important tweaks or updates I may be missing out on with an older EVO.

By the lack of response I take it I am in the clear?

You're good to go. If for some reason a problem does develop, VapeXhale will take care of you.

Go now, and blow some massive clouds :)

Yes you're fine. There are plenty of people who have never had problems with the firmware on the first units shipped by VXH, you just don't hear about it anymore.

I am about to pull the trigger on swagger sidetree (thats the tree perk sidecar one)but im not sure how it rips. does anyone have one? if so would u recommend it?
It's the only HT I've used so far, but I like it. Not a lot of drag or resistance, quite smooth. Mouthpiece fits my mouth well and I like it. Also easy to clean.

I feel like I am the only one that complains about this but are we ever going to see a replacement for the ELB that is more durable? I appreciate the VapeXNail has a "luxury" option which is the quartz nail.

Would anybody else invest in a better quality ELB if it was available? I have complained many times in the past that ELB's wear out too quickly. Everyone always suggests that I keep them clean, maintain them and be careful while emptying them but they still wear out too quickly.

My assumption for this is because when I ask people how often they use their ELBs per day, it is easily 1/4-1/5 of the amount of sessions I do per day. If I do not have more than 2 or 3 (or god forbid just one) ELB available they get gunked up very quickly and begin to disintegrate.

IMO something with more structural integrity would be great so you can be a little rougher about emptying them and re-using them.

I won't lie sometimes I get lazy and tap on the ELBs from the bottom, but the vast majority of the time I use some bamboo picks to loosen up the ABV inside but they only last a couple months of regular use with meticulous cleaning, diving them up into batches for long iso soaks, etc

I sold my showercap HT because I felt it did not provide adequate filtration for me. The vaporblunt hydratube I owned before it I liked more since it had slightly more drag to it and definitely cooled the vapor more.

If i get another HT i hope to get a recycler HT or something more exciting like that. but i have been enjoying inverted Evo-ing much more as of late.

Just a note to people worried - I've had my Cloud EVO since I think January, and it's been rock solid. Knock on wood.

I do have the occasional no auto-shutoff and then the bamboo is glowing red hot, but other than that, it's amazingly perfect.

Me and two friends had to return ours all at once. we got ours within a couple months of each other so it was a little worrying.

Honestly, no I wouldn't.

I've been more then pleased with the ELBs I have. Still using my original 4.

Is it possible you somehow received a bad batch? Even with extremely heavy use, they should last more then a few months.

Perhaps you have super human strength that you're not aware of? I kid, but maybe you're just inherently rougher on the ELBs without meaning to? I wouldn't say that I baby mine, but I've never rolled them between my fingers to loosen the ABV, etc.

I'm very hard on my ELBs....I flick and tap the shit out of them, use a mascara brush and scrape the insides out, use PBW and ISO to clean and have used the same ones for years, heavily. One came apart at the top (broke right off) and another two fell apart at the seams. I've had over a dozen and most of them are just as good as the first day.

I definitely would pay more for a higher quality ELB no question. But first i'll just be content with more hydra tubes! Bring back Evolver!

Bingo .
It is Not advisable to soak the screens in iso for long periods of times .
It Will deteriorate them much quicker .
I soak them from 2 - 5 minutes tops .
And I also help remove the debris with a brush while they're soaking to reduce the soaking times . The iso is just to help loosen the debris and clean off the resin .
But it's still a very strong solvent . and ya I pinch the elbs when blowing them out .

My original 2 and the 4 I bought from PV are still good .
The seams part will be the one to go first ...

@poonman, I soak my ELBs in ISO or PBW for weeks at a time sometimes, without issue. I didn't think the ELB would react to ISO other than coming out sparkling clean like new!

My routine is PBW and hot water and shake in container. Let is soak for as long as I feel like (hours, days, whatever)....then I use ISO the same way....then hot water rinses, shakes. Works for me, and i'm picky. I found ISO alone wasn't enough to cut through the crap on the bottom of the ELB. Introduce Mr. PBW!
