Have you actually read Scanner Darkly? I grant that the Linklater is the closest to an accurate PKD adaptation ever made, but it is still not even close to the book.

Fear and Loathing, though, I thought was as close to a perfect rendition of the book as was possible. But I still prefer Bill Murray's Hunter Thompson in 'Where the Buffalo Roam' (Fear and Loathing is a better film, but IMHO Murray's Hunter is better).

EDIT: And I've hung out with Hunter. Puked on his shoes once. He said my psychedelic drug use scared him. I took it as a compliment at the time.

Haha. I haven't seen bill murray's hunter yet, i'll have to watch that asap. and I never knew there was a scanner darkly novel.. far out, I must live in a hole.

Couldn't find a free full version of Bill as HST in Where the Buffalo Roam (though it is on Netflix, if you subscribe). But here's a taste in the trailer
