Designing a mid-level portable herbal vaporizer.

Hey all, I'm looking for some input on a project I've been working on for quite some time now. It will be a fully digital portable herbal vaporizer.

Key ideas:
  • OLED B/W display screen, letting you know the working and set temperatures, along with battery level.
  • Customizable welcome screen with usage statistics.
  • Possible password protection on boot, letting you protect your vape. (kids, possible theft)
  • Removable bowl/element for easy replacement/cleaning.
The micro processor is already programmed, and I'm just short of a working model, but I'm looking for the best heating element, and battery/charging specs for long-lasting charges and working batteries.

I've used a few different types of vaporizers and I'm currently a fan of the DaVinci, so my vape will be in the size factor of the DaVinci but will build upon many important downfalls of the device.

All input is welcome :)

pm @CentiZen for battery help if he has the time to chat.

I'm not sure I need usage stats, but some might. They wouldn't appeal to me and didn't with the elevape.

The password protection is a neat idea, but I'm not sure how bad that would be for people using it already under the influence.

Good luck!

The usage stats are merely an indication of a used vape, and can help get a useful assumption of wear-n-tear, they will not be cleared. The password protection scheme I implemented is optional. It will ask for the password on first boot of the device, not on the heat of the element. So as long as you don't fully power down the device, you will not have to re-enter the password.

Thanks for the input :)

Hi there Newbro, as sticks said I'm pretty well versed when it comes to battery technology as well as having some experience with other facets of vape design, elements included. I'd be happy to help you out in any way I can, but I'd need to know more about the design of your platform and I'm not sure how much your willing to share about that in public. Feel free to shoot me a PM and we can talk!
