Well today is THE day, college football officially starts! Looking forward to watching Utah and Boise State play tonight. One thing about arena sports is seeing them live is incredible. I remember "Fright Night" when USC came up to Autzen for a game on Halloween night with a full moon out. We won that game and it was an amazing experience witnessing the raw human emotion, on display. Well this year's schedule has one game that could be just as good and that is Michigan State. I expect to personally give "Sparty" a very warm welcome when he arrives at Autzen this year . . . :D

It's so close, I can taste it.

"NFL Kickoff Game: The 2014 season will begin on Thursday, September 4, 2014, starting at 8:30 p.m. ET (5:30 p.m. PT) on NBC, at CenturyLink Field, where the defending Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks will host the Green Bay Packers."

College football coma continued . . . :ko:

Glued to ESPNU all day today I realized a couple things. Like USC is going to "The Farm" to play Stanford. This is going to be an awesome game, must DVR since I will be tailgating at Autzen Stadium for Michigan State. But I was wondering what @Stu thought about the upcoming match. Best part is one team will have a (L)oss afterwards . . . ;)

Also pondering what this game against Michigan State really means. Its the entire season really. We stand a great chance of loosing this game and to do so would be disaster. To say I'm "concerned" would be an understatement. Fortunately we looked pretty sharp on our season opener against the SD Coyotes, here is the highlight reel, note the unveiling of Royce Freeman. Mark him down ladies and gentlemen, Royce is the real deal . . .

Oh yeah, got my yellow t-shirt like the ticket says. Didn't have one yet . . . :)

I caught the Oregon game. Except for the last half of the 2nd, MSU looked outmatched. I tried to spot the yellow shirt @t-dub but you blended in a little too well.

4 hours, 52 minutes to go!

Something tells me the Trojans are back . . .

Anyways, a few pics and some video from Autzen Stadium yesterday. Michigan State didn't go away easily, in fact I thought we were going to lose for a while . . . :o

I've been having a bad dream recently. Its name is Anu Solomon . . . :uhoh:

Tonight should be interesting. Anu is awesome but lacks experience. Still, he makes great things happen and stuff like this scares the heck out of me . . .

Honorable mention to Jerry Neuheisel for coming in the game for an injured Brett Hundley and delivering the "Pump Fake" to win the game. Truly a fantastic moment not just for him but also for his father who got to interview him live on PAC12 Networks. Even I was chanting "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry" . . .

The pac-12 is looking real good, and is wide open now (sorry @t-dub!); along with stanford, the huskies and maybe usc we've got it going on this year! Cal, utah, and oregon state also only have one loss... And speaking of the ducks, they have a big test these next two saturdays, they could actually lose three in a row if they're not on top of their game. Even if they can get past my bruins at the rose bowl (gonna be a good one, ucla is a 3-point underdog), they get to host undefeated arizona the following week. The only downside of all these teams in the same conference is we could end up cannibalizing any national championship opportunities we may have. Otoh, out of the hottest fire comes the strongest steel, or something like that.

My guess for th college football playoffs:

1. Florida State
2. Alabama
3. Oregon
4. TCU (or miss. State)

I think Bama will be miss. St this week, which will drop miss. St to at least #4 in my opinion and also bump Bama past Oregon in the rankings. Even though FSU isn't nearly as good as last year, I still don't see another team that will beat us. GO NOLES!

You are probably correct although I hope Alabama loses. I really like the Horned Frogs I hope they make it too. My hope is Mariota (Marr-ee-ohh-tah) brings the Heisman to the UofO and that we make the playoffs. I relish the opportunity to play against any SEC/ACC thugs so we can see how speed and science plays against power and tradition.

Go Ducks!!!

Edit: Do we not have the BEST dressed RB coach in the country or what? . . .

I think mariota will win the heisman because nobody else really impresses me. I liked how Todd Gurley was playing but he got suspended and jameis hasn't been doing anything spectacular this season other than winning. I think Dak Prescott is overrated and it will be shown against alabama, if not, against ole miss later on (it would be cool if he proved me wrong too). I also like that there are playoffs this year and it would be cool to watch FSU play the ducks. I'd also be glad to play and beat Bama so that they can finally shut up about who's better.

Melvin Gordon would win it if he had a QB. Dude is better than Gurley, Abdullah is a hell of a back too. Tevin Coleman as well. Chubb is showing that UGA is just a hell of a team all around and have an amazing offensive line. Stack 8 in the box vs Melvin and he still goes loose. I am a tad bit biased because I live in Wisconsin but he's a hell of a player. I do think the Heisman will be given to Mariota or Dak though. If Oregon wins out I see Mariota winning it.

I was watching that game. EVERYONE in the TV production as I'm sure everyone in the stadium went..........WTF :o:o:o !!!!

I think if that was me, I would have just kept on running.................all the way home.

Other than running to the wrong end-zone (which has happened), this has got to be one the biggest fuck-ups ever.
