The Herbalizer

Admittedly I do not own an HA, but owing an Herbalizer I'd have to say the following.

The Herbalizer is already a fairly small unit, IMO an additional external fan would complicate the design rather than simplify. That's just my :2c:.

I'm assuming by "the form factor is not really reliable" you are referring to the lid of the unit? As many people have stated the lid is a little lacking in quality compared to the rest of the unit. However I wouldn't let that deter you from making a purchase if you were considering it. It really doesn't affect the function of the unit. I don't think the lid would break very easily, you would have to treat it very poorly. I am pretty sure it could sustain a decent fall without being damaged. In any case I hope nobody is treating a $700+ vaporizer in a way that would easily break it. After all many units have glass parts and are equally if not more fragile, not to mention many people handle glass bubblers etc on a regular basis.

These are just my thoughts, you clearly have way more experience with vaporizers. I am definitely jealous of that list in your signature!

Yes, I get a severe form of VAS, in fact some changements in my life habits make to buy vapes is cheaper than my old addiction(s)! it's a way to save my health and my brain cause I never was a compulsive customer of manufactured products!

Maybe I didn't used the right word, when I told you it's not reliable I want to say it's not easy to handle, inverted or not, you need tubing and connector to use it with a WT and i think it need lot of space on a desk...

I think they would get a different design than others desktop vapes (EQ, HA, Cloud, log vapes all the same form factor) but they lost some functiunnal aspects...

Hi, i look dialy at this thread cause the Herbalizer seems to be a high end unit but I didn't plan to get it for several reasons:

-expensive (yes i'm agree, i already bought expensive units...!)
-design don't appeal me at all
-the useless fan assist, imho I would prefer the HA setup (you connect a fan only when you need balloons, it will make the unit smaller and more simple)
- the form factor is not really reliable

But I'm interested to know more about it....is there a HA and Herbalizer owner able to compare both about taste, please?

I have owned the HA and now it lives with a friend that i introduced to vaping, he loves it!
Comparing a rotary dial unit to a precise, digital unit is never going to go very well.
Just like the comparison between the EVO and the Herbie, they are both vapes but perform totally differently IMO.

Expensive = YES but it is the most advanced vape that i know of and the quality is superb!
Designs are like cars, you either like it or don't. This one appeals to the Apple geek in me!
Fan Assist - Use it or don't use it, you have the choice! Just like the HA...
Saying something is useless and not having experienced it is kind of odd.
Form factor reliability - I have not read of anything breaking yet (correct me if i am wrong please) during regular use.
As a brand new product this vape has had less recalls than almost any other newly released vape lately, something to be proud of!

As for taste i prefer my Herbie over the HA!
Start low and the flavour just keeps coming, start high and get a burst of flavour that still lasts a few hits before the bowl is done.

Herbie is my go to vape and i don't think that will change anytime soon!

I would to say it's useless with the whip, isn't it?

You can play with it but you really need it only for bags I think....but i thought you can't stop completly the fan assist....or I misunderstood something...

Maybe I'm just trying to convince me that i don't want it.....I try!

Do you know if there is now a warranty for international customers (outside CONUS)?

I made an adapter to go over the bowl to go whip free!
So there are options if you think about it carefully and research materials.

The fan assist is optional. I use it with bags, the whip and directly connected WT's.
It is great for getting a super efficient extraction!
If i am not in the mood for fan assist i do not turn it on.

I have the five year warranty and i am in Canada, i do not see why they would sell international units with no warranty.

First I'd like to say with all due respect that you must have been reading the wrong stuff. In the 6 years I've been vaping nothing touches Herbie. In fact, I've owned 30 vapes at one point and currently I have 2. Herbie with it's tech is now my go to daily driver and has yet to disappoint me. The HA is a great device for the money but why compare it to that considering (to you) the bags or asssisted lung are useless. Might as well compared it to the MFLB.

On another note, there are many people here who are sick, including me. Some of us need the assisted lung and this machine is perfect for medical users. You just insulted me with your comment as I'm sure others were as well hence no one liking your comment.

FC's success isn't based on your issues - we are a family that works together to find the best alternative delivery systems with a strict focus on health. I assume you didn't realize what you were saying but coming in here to bash Herbie on your specific needs was not cool nor should it be liked.

Just try and get the big picture here bro - there's a lot of people here who believe in Herbie.

I disagree with you regarding the Herbie. It may be expensive, but it's some of the best money I have ever spent!

As for the comparison between the Herbalaire and the Herbalizer, I like the Herbalizer a lot better. Yes, I have owned both, but I donated my Herbalaire.

Could not agree more with you!!
Due to my AS my lung capacity changes all the time due to stress, the weather, time of year and amount of exercise i get.
When i have difficulty taking big inhales to relieve the pain i have to use the fan assist.
And it is great to have it built right in! Difficult inhale, hit the fan with no assembly required.

As @mvapes stated i am also down to two regular use vapes!
#1 is HERBIE
#2 is my glass nail for when things are really bad.

Even my WT's are not getting used as much anymore.

When i first saw Herbie i knew i wanted one and i have not regretted the purchase one bit!
She rips numerous times per day and has never had a major issue!
Flowers, hash, concentrates all are enjoyed with Herbie!

I am a new member to the Herbalizer family. After watching this thread for over a year I finally pulled the trigger. I had decided early in this thread that it was too expensive for me as well but just felt like something was missing in my Cloud/EVO setup. I am using it as my only vape these first few days to get a sense of its capabilities but so far I am really happy with my purchase. The more I use it the more the price I paid for it does not bother me. The precise temp control is freaking fantastic and as a medical user I can control the effects better than my EVO. This I noticed within the first day. The versatility of this machine is amazing.

I also love the thoughtful little touches such as the whip being able to be stored in the unit and the hidden compartment in the lid. Rather than a stashbox that is plastic I would have much preferred if they partnered up with Jyarz so one of their units can be stored in there. If not Jyarz then some other glass storage solution would work but I already have a lot of Jyarz :)

The lid issue does not bother me but my unit is new. If it gets worse or closes less over time I think it would bother me. It seems like it would be an easy mod to glue some small neodymium magnets in the right place just to create just enough force to hold the lid together.

The puffing of vape does bother me though. It does not bother me that much but enough that I don't want to leave the magnetic bowl in the herbalizer for any period of time when it is on. I understand the need for doing it to maintain very precise temperature control but it feels like it is wasting a tiny bit of herb and is adding a bit more stink too my room. I then feel pressured to try to finish the bowl as fast as possible. I am sure the engineers are herbalizer racked out their brain trying to figure out how to vent the excess heat in a user friendly way. I would suggest an alternative exhaust path and a sensor that detects air flow and maybe a switch that redirects the air through the magnetic bowl or outside another path. It should not be puffing my herb without me!!

I also wish I had a better process for getting the magnetic bowl ready. It took me a few months to get my process down with the EVO but I had a whole bunch of ELB's and a tool that would let me suck the herb into the ELB. I would pre-load 5 or 6 for the night and popping one in and out was super convenient. When it came time to clean I would take all 16 and dump into a mason jar and use a tiny brush to get the rest with one more tap to finish. The magnetic bowl's are a lot more expensive than ELB's and I can't afford to have a lot of those so I end up having to dump and refill every time I want to use my Herbie. Unless I invest a lot of money ($70 a pop) I can't have 5 or 6 magnetic bowl's pre-filled for a nights session. Also, when I clean my magnetic bowl I can never seem to dump it all out without some of it falling on my tray and then getting stuck to the cool grip sides because of static electricity. I am a bit of a clean freak here. I wish I had a tiny vacuum that was battery operated and not too loud but powerful enough to suck all my ABV into a container.

I have a few other minor nits but all in all I LOVE this vape and I would buy again. I can't wait to try out some of the mods to use my hydratubes with this bad boy. A fan assisted draw through a Hydratube is something I can't wait to try.

mvapes I might do that but if you have great tips and tricks share them with all. I care just as much about the whole process with getting herb ready, conserving, and cleaning up as I do with vaping itself.

I think I will take one topic at a time that bothers me and solicit feedback. Lets start with my first issue with loading/dumping the magnetic bowl. It is not an issue so much as I want to figure out the best most efficient way for loading and dumping the magnetic bowl to save my ABV without making a mess. I use a tray so that helps but with ELB's I could suck all the herb in and dump it out and never touched it. I can't seem to scoop from my Jyarz into the magnetic bowl without spilling a little. It is minor issue. Also, I bought some extra screens and brushes but the brush from Herbalizer seems to be getting frayed after just 4 days. I don't see this brush lasting very long and I feel I have to use it every time in both pieces of the magnetic bowl to get the stuff off. This is where I really wish I had a small vacuum that would suck up the abv in a way I could easily dump it later to make abv brownies.

I am the type of guy that times how long it takes for me to do certain tasks that I will do hundreds and hundreds of times over a year to figure out the best way. I also count the steps so any chance to remove a step is something that makes me giddy. #firstworldproblems#

I agree, but those tips and tricks I spoke of I learned here. I was only trying to be respectful and not repeat old posts.

As far as loading and unloading I want ask you to give till this evening. I will post a video for every one to see.

What about a small plastic/metal funnel?
You can trim the end down till it fits perfectly on the bowl.

I never pre grind my herb so i just grind up a nug as required for every medication session.
It gets emptied onto a glass slab and i just add a pinch to the bowl with my fingers.
You can keep things pretty clean this way but the cool grips always seem to have something stuck to them.
After the bowl is done i empty it onto the other side of the slab and give it a quick sweep with the brush to clean the sides and the screens, then reload!

After i am done the ABV gets swept off the glass into a storage jar and sealed again.
Going to make some ABV coconut oil cookies sometime!

It's not a perfect system but it is quick and effective for me.

@John Lewus I'm thinking about picking up a mini USB vacuum for quick easy clean up. I just grabbed a quick link to a cheap one for you, I'm sure there are better ones if you shop around.

http://m.aliexpress.com/item/1857014672.html?tracelog=wwwdetail2mobilesitedetail

I thought about that a long time ago for ELB's but did not think the suction would be enough. Let me know how that works for you.

That is an interesting idea but herb would stick to that funnel and then fall off onto my tray thus negating the purpose of not dropping herb onto my tray. I also have another device on my table to contend with. I'll just practice my scooping technique.

I'm back ya'll!

My first 3D printed ceramic prototype of the 18mm GonG adapter arrived yesterday! Gotta say I'm impressed. The part is quite close to the actual dimensions I ordered. Although unfortunately I was off by about 1mm (the glaze was thicker than I expected) and it looks to have shrank slightly overall. Fortunately a dremel worked GREAT to remove some of the excess material to make a perfect fit.

The colors are a bit washed out, but it's a pastel avocado green (customer request). The glaze overall is quite nice, and I think the piece would hold up very well. Sadly, it will be another month before I receive the second prototype and confirm a good fit. Hopefully after this next revision, I'll have the part finalized and ready for direct orders on my shapeways store!

Here's a sneak peak though:

For @John Lewus and others to enjoy...

Thanks for posting. I'm trying to eliminate the step of dumping on a table and dump direct into an Abv jar. I have not figured out the best way to do this and brush out the excess without having the abv dust flick around and land outside my jar onto my tray and table. It really is a minor thing but is something I have to do multiple times every day so I want the fastest Cleanest and laziest process to get me there. It took me awhile with elbs to figure it out as well.

I tried jamming it in there, but it won't go into the hole.

That sounded bad, but it's true.

Seriously, though, hubby even tried, and he can't get the whip in it either.

I use this same piece along with an Extreme Q "18/18 Female/female" piece as a direct hit Herbailzer mouthpiece... I put my lips on the part the would go into your tubing, and just sit the 18 female on Herbie's bowl.
