Arizer Solo

 So sweet is the versatile nature of the SOLO! :peace: I have 3 ways to customize my loads of dry: 1) tiny ball of hash flattened to translucency and added to loosely filled bowl - start @ pl. 3 = :whoa:; 2) mix loose trichomes from ZEUS w/2nd. half of load, 3) mix drop of rose oil in load - these are all tasty mixes for a deep, restful sleep! ... but I must be gentle with my volume - my cough center is v.sensitive due to COPD.

I've thought about mixing mint in my Solo with the herb, I've heard folks doing that. I bet that would feel good on the throat. I agree the Solo is a very versatile vaporizer. It also fits well with various glass water tools.

Always buy from an authorized vendor.

you could try blending with Lagochilus inebrians (intoxicating mint)

A reviewer on youtube said you don't have to grind up your herb before sticking it into the stem... Has anyone tried this method? Wouldn't a small piece stay in the stem better than it would if it were ground, especially the herb was very dry?

I do that a lot when the crop comes in. A small piece of bud can act as a screen if you want to add ground bud on top of that.

Hey bro' - I gots a super simple free suggest - buy a screen & trim to a little smaller and push it into the mouthpiece end instead of the bowl (mine goes up near the bend) - it's easily removable/cleanable and keeps the plant flakes out of yer mouth/throat Plus quit sucking so hard, elephant tokes come from BONGS!

A ZEUS grinder gives perfect consistency to your load, but I often hand-manicure my weed as well - I'm an olde-school-hippie-joint-twister - no wood or leaf in MY goumet doobs, thank you!

It's only an opinion, but whole bud, even popcorn, is not going to evap uniformly - all it takes is a glimpse with a microscope to see it yourself! ... but - opinions are like rectums - everybody has one and most of them stink!

my NEW observations about the cracks on the bottom plate....

I use my solo daily over 6 months now, and I knew about the cracks from day 1 so I had the screws loose since then to prevent this from happening ....or so I thought....... :hmm:
I checked every couple of days for cracks, so I think i know now what happened.

between and after my usual sessions , I lay my solo down , NEVER in standing position to prevent to tip it over accidentally and break the glass ....or worse. so far so good.......

the last 2 weeks I had to be out of town, so I took my solo with me.
on day 2 (second session) ....I saw the cracks........ :(
yes more than one ,2 actually in the middle of the plate, cracks on 2 corners and some plastic was about to fall off on another corner ,which poked me on my fingers so I think it had just happened.

these sessions were a bit different than usual.
between and after the sessions I had the solo standing, which I never do. when i saw the cracks I locked where i had put it and it hit me!!! on cold tiles on the ground next to the bed!!!

so I'm 99.9% sure the expansion on the upper part of the solo from the heat, and the (shrinking) colder bottom plate can't handle the force and it cracks. especially if it is standing on cold surfaces when it's warm/hot from use.

I took some time to think about this, and it is obvious that the cracks are there as if the screws were pulling the plate sideways with direction to the corners, which I think it did actually. this is the only way to explain the missing plastic on the corner and the big cracks in the middle of the plate.

solution to prevent this??
bigger holes maybe , different plate material ?

do you have a different explanation??

btw. I never dropped my solo

I think I saw a post somewhere that someone is making bottom plates, if anyone knows please point me to him.

Until i seen this modding sample i found Arizer's Solo Glass Stems to be convenient in some of my experiments (only), but now it's a source of inspiration because i can imagine a spiral making a couple loops around instead of a straight line.

Maybe that wouldn't be a good idea in the Solo context but i'm looking at it with a different perspective so i feel like i must ask, to verify that such a feature can never exist, probably for a lack of power in a portable battery-operated device. Yet i sort of wonder, wouldn't that even help the Solo owners if their inlet air path were actually pre-heated by using a set of longer coiled channels engraved in the external glass surface?...

:peace:

Hi, I'm pretty much a newb to vapourising - I did some research and got myself an Arizer Solo a month or so ago. I'm pretty happy with it, who knew materials tasted so delicious!

I have a brother with a lung problem who I'd like to get to try it, for medical reasons, however I feel that the vapour is too hot and dry to be good for him. I'm led to believe that a bubbler/water solution would both decrease the temperature and increase the humidity of the vapour making it easier on the lungs?

I've been doing some googling and I seem to keep winding up with "PVHE GonG"s and other confusingly named things, all of which seem permanently out of stock. I've come to the understanding that I'd need both an adapter and a bubbler to connect to the solo, though I know nothing of what makes good components or what is economical. I'd rather not pay loads for some glass but if that's what has to be done that's what has to be done. I live in England which complicates matters slightly too, seeing as most stuff seems to be US.

I'd really appreciate any insight into what one needs to look out for in a water solution, where to get, what prices to expect etc.

Sorry if I've broken some etiquette posting, I'm still trying to get the lay of the land here. Thanks for reading!

My first Solo didn't have any cracking on the bottom at all. I know plenty others didn't get any cracking until the new 2014 Solo came out. IMO I think they got a bad batch of high grade plastic. My Solo is chipping on the bottom. I bought a base and repair kit from FCer Pipes. The base allows you to charge the Solo standing up.

I have always wondered about this and since you are experienced. Herbs other than MJ are they generally safe to vaporize or do you need to research each one? In general if its safe to eat is it safe to vaporizer?

LOL, hardly. This bubbler only cost me $30.00. I can't afford expensive glass, unfortunately. It may have only cost $30.00, but I really love it, and the fact that it's small. :)
After a decent selection of glass throughout my career I have settled down for pieces that offer less diffusion instead of more. I love the flavor of vaporizing cannabis, and I can taste the difference when it goes through multiple percs. Good choice!

I am so sad about my Arizer Solo lately. It was great for about a year. But it's just gradually broken down. The top won't stay screwed on anymore, so it's taped to stay on. Now the problem is the battery won't stay charged at all. I know I can probably send it in for repair? But I would rather just buy something new since I've started having problems with it...

You can buy a PA and bypass the battery altogether. Use your unit like a plugin. The warranty is still good you could send it in. They may give you a brand new one.

FCer Pipes sells the PA for the Solo.

EDIT
I see a Solo in the classified, it's a new 2014.
