Listen to the man. He knows what he's talking about. I bought my DBV years ago, and it's the only thing I never needed. Then I found this site. I now have a Pax, a Firefly, and just ordered a Lotus this morning.

Yes, there are also plenty of threads in the community area that aren't about specific units that are very fun to read. In my time here I have cruised lots of product specific threads for things that I do not own. Being that DBV is a 7th floor product, I also found it helpful to read other 7th floor threads (namely the Silver Surfer -SSV- and Life Saber -LSV-). In any case, glad you got Da Buddhaand welcome to the community.

Well I've already pick up a spare whip and I was thinking about adding water but a few pages ago people were saying that you use more and don't get as high and I'm still a noob with water. 30 years of smoking and my motto was 'if it's not rolled in a zig zag it's not for me'. But I don't think VAS will hit me too hard I'll probably buy a portable maybe in the spring but I don't get why I would ever buy more. So that gives me 6 months to decide which one. Any advice for portables??? I'm looking at the solo, pax, firefly and ascent in that order. But as far as reading, the solo thread is longer than War and Peace that's just too daunting.

I wish you you all the luck in the world with that strategy. You might manage as long as the DBV doesn't fail somehow, but if you keep reading here I think you'll need strong willpower to hold out. As for advice on portables, there are quite a few threads asking more or less the same question in Ask FC or the ABV threads. I suggest you try a few of them, since your question is off-topic for this thread.

Whatever the trigger, VAS is difficult to avoid.
It certainly can be. My first vape buy many years ago was a bad one due to sticker shock, and I paid less than $100. Within a year I had 4-5 good ones and there weren't that many quality brands then. Now I could open up a vape pawn shop.

The DBV is really all you need for home use, but hang around here too long looking for a portable and you may find yourself infected with the acquisition bug.

Do you like to use a water piece with your DBV? Or straight dry?

When I use my Buber with my DBV I get a lot of crap stuck to the sides of my bubbler. On one hand, if rather have it stuck to the glass instead of my lungs. But on the other hand, I think I might be losing some THC in the tuff that's stuck on the side of my piece.

Why does the water cause this crap to stick all over the inside of the bubbler?

It's not the water. It's the glass.

You would get just as much stuck to the glass even if you use it sans water.

:peace:

When I use it without water, I get nothing. Maybe a little after a lot of hits. But I get a lot that forms if I use water.

Water cooling the vapor to the point of condensation and also the water filtering out small particles of flower getting through the screen ... I've always felt like I got less vapor condensation when using hot water over cool water but I've personally decided I don't like water conditioning unless using concentrates. I like the full flavor, more potent dry hits when hitting flowers.

I definitely prefer my DBV vapor through water. I get bronchial issues otherwise. My bubbler is a little 8" beaker on indefinite loan from a friend. I like cold water better in spring and summer, but I've never tried water in the autumn or winter. The hose with or without the mouthpiece fits right up to the funnel-shaped downstem. The connection isn't perfect, but good enough that it prevents too much air mixing with the vapor and making it too week or wispy. Anything past, say 2 o'clock on my dial, I NEED water or My voice gets really raspy.

Dry is my preference.
I would rather have the crap dissolving on the walls of my lungs than on the glass!
I ALWAYS feel less medicated when I use water.
I can do a dozen hits through water, and I feel an "element" missing.
A certain psychoactive component just is not there for me with water.
I do get medicated, just my mind does not buzz the same.
I can feel better with one dry hit than with 3 water filtered hits.

WHY does it stick?
The oils are not water soluble.
AS the bubble through the water, they cool and stick to the glass.

I bought a da buddha back in '10 and it was the best vape I ever had. I was still finishing highschool at the time and my mom found it so it put an end to that legacy two years later. Da buddha had fallen down stairs, was left on in the rain, and left on for HOURS at a time. I treated this vape way too poorly but it always came through and worked like it was brand new. Definitely recommend this vape for anyone looking for a desktop vape.

Very happy with my DB as well. Also two friends have already ordered there's too. I wish I'd gone through 7th floor cause the new bags are way less gay than the pink ones.
hahah thats weak they dnt let u shoose a color or jus make it hemp.. where'd u get it where it was pink? heard some1 else say that they got a pink zebra striped case and threw it out bc he felt gay and thought his friends were gonna make fun of him lol i just WON my DB :D sooo stoked! won it off FB! it was a tough choice but i went w Da Buddha Vape. They let me choose between that or the Arizer Extreme Q... i read a lot, lookd stuff up.. and a lot of the ppl were leaning towards the DB whip wise, not gonna be HUGE on bags, just NICE hits! Every1 said i couldnt really go wrong w either, but i chose the simpler looking 1, was thinking less problems maybe, more solid, less to break... let me know if u have any input on these 2 units too! thanks guys! im feeling like i made a good choice. i feel either 1 woulda been cool, and i REALLY liked the way the extreme Q looked and was LCD w a remote! looked g! put hey! the simpler, the less problems i kept thinking, w less to break and the DB is made SOLIDLY! Also kept reading the whip on the DB hits fatter then the extreme q's whip.. jus wanted a fat, nice hitter, my 1st vape. heard there both coool, hopefully dnt regret picking the DB over the arizer..:leaf:

OK, so I'm not trying to start a war, and I'm not trying to solicit vaporizers for my benefit; I am trying to educate the consumers out there about other options. I used to own a DBV, and I loved it while I had it and I thought it was the best vape under the sun. Then my friend got an extreme q and I instantly realized how it was superior to my DBV in every way that I could imagine, so I bought one and sold my DBV, and then I bought another extreme q for two frequently traveled locations since I liked my purchase so much.

Yes, the DBV can make some nice vapor clouds, but it's not perfect, in fact, its a little crude for a vape. But that is nice cause it is only ceramic and glass. But honestly, I believe the extreme q to be superior in every way.

And if you don't think you can get thick rips of the extreme q, you're wrong. This thing rips if you let it warm up properly. Check out this video I made of vaping bubble hash out of a bong with the EQ and you decide for yourself...

ur the 1st person ive seen say they'd pick the extreme q over the DB unless u want the bag part... i won 1, but only could choose 1, looked around and picked a DB. Less to go wrong, thats for sure

I have 2 Extreme Qs!
They are used as loaner vapes when patients here need service on their units or when new patients are in the process of having a new vaporizer chosen for them.
The DBVs get used here as permanent units, and get placed with patients for a lifetime of use, rather than as simple loaner tools.

well, i like hearing that! since im a beginner vaporizer, except w wax, so im feeling a little better about my choice and letting the extreme q go for the DB! the Q ONLY looked more appealing in the fact that it was all tech like i guess.. remote was nice, LCD, but like i said to, eventually =s more problems!:2c:

The extreme Q , to me is a "jack of all trades.... but Master of none"
DBV is the Master of his trade... Whip/wand technology with Ceramic Heat source.

The "Q" fans have techniques for getting better hits, and you can get those good hits (using the elbow pack for example).
The DBV is a vape that is simple.
Basic is good.
Bells & Whistles.......
More things to eventually (and trust me they have!) go wrong.
Congrats on the DBV.
Congrats on going "7th Floor LLC"!

thank you sir! im feelin i made th right choice in companies too... they sound like they stand behind their product... i CANNOT wait to recieve it in the mail. Either tom or the next day then in about 3-7 days id say, im gettin a nice lil rig off dhgate ive been wanting on... :science: see, the ONLY thing that was gettin me was the extreme q looks soo nice and has a remote! hahah but i read soo much about the DB hitting a lot more solid and really medicating u...

You know 7th Floor will repair any DB in or out of warranty, regardless of purchase point for $25 plus shipping?
Good 2 know!

ps- c, if some1 could jus tell me how to combined these last 2 comments... hahah im soo bad at it...

Mods will merge them, you can use the edit button to avoid back to back posts :)

The q may have a remote, but could you toss it like Tokin did his dbv in his youtube video?
toss it like threw it and it was chill? bc there sturdy or what? from what i read and stuff, i feel as if i picked the best htter which is what i care about... rather have a NICE WHIP HITTER then a HALF ASS WHIP HITTER AND A HALF ASS BAG ya know... but i do love the DAYUM REMOTE! lol

The remote does not get used as much as one may think.
To use it, you must go attach the bag to the vape anyway......
... then you back up so that you can have room to use the remote (when you could have hit the button while you were there putting on the bag).
After you hit the remote and bag is full.. you can stop the pump with your remote.. then you jump up and get your bag of vapor.

The remote can come in handy if you want to setup a bag and meds...... the night before...
and want to hit the button to start the vape up when you wake....
(if vape is across room from bed)
BUT I would want to grab the bag from bed too... so might as well have the unit on nightstand instead of across room at remote control distance.

It is not ONLY for the balloon...
The remote is for turning the fan and heat on or off.
one could stand there with the whip in their hand....
and back their arm up a foot or two, in order to aim the remote at the unit... turn unit on with the remote, and then proceed to inhale using the whip.

Gently take off the heater cover, gently pull up the ceramic heating rod, and then put the heater cover back on. The ceramic rod should almost touch the top of the heater cover. It should then work perfectly.
