Vapes on Planes - Traveling With Vaporizers

VaporsVaporizer

On the Stoop
SO any help appreciated.

I am so, so concerned about flying international to Belgium with the vape (a Solo)-- I feel like it's going to be stolen or flagged- have known so many ppl flying domestic lately that had their luggage decimated. I mean, vitamins opened, baby food dumped (in the suitcase!!) etc. I KNOW i've had stuff stolen from checked bags before.

So i am worried about it still being there, and taking it international. I doubt that TSA will figure how to turn it on and prove it's not a terrorist device. where/how to pack? has anyone gone international with a traveler?
<3
That's why a bought a few Vapormax's . I'm traveling next week and have clean , sealed, inexpensive vapes to dump before flying home. Will do the same thing when i go to Europe in the Autumn ;)

Hi everyone.long time

Very recent flight experience Brisbane - Denver

outgoing flight details:
check in Brisbane, check in LAX,check out internal flight LAX to Denver

I took my hammer and new silicone turbo tube from Alan of HI( thanks dude:D) in my check in luggage.no issues at all.a 100ml of cologne opened in my check in bag on the flight from Brisbane to LAX :uhoh: which worried me a little for the TSA check for the internal flight from out to Denver..the bag kinda reeked a little of cologne in the check in queue but there were no issues.:)
At the LAX - Denver check in I noticed all bags travel from the check in desk on a belt to a checking room off to one side.I could see the operatives going over bags as i waited by the toilets.

I had 2 visits by dogs.one at Brisbane waiting in queue with my check in luggage and again in the internal
LAX-Denver check in queue with my cologne infused luggage.no issues.the canines went right over our bags.
My hammer had been used a dozen or so times before my vacation.

about the hammer,it works but the flame is not firing so well in mile high city....but it works when needed.I am using a hello neighbour blow through (looks like a chapstick/lipbalm) air freshener on exhale in hotel rooms no issues.really handy piece of kit for travelling and works well to disguise the sticky icky smells.i picked up two eights so far,a blue dream and Cinderella and a monkey bar.

My plan was to travel by hire car to Seattle from Denver but I am reading about paranoid troopers in surrounding states clamping down and conducting searches in Idaho,Wyoming and Utah so I've decided to enjoy Colorado and if desired to fly into Seattle and maybe travel down to Oregon before going home.
I guess Idaho,Wyoming and Utah aren t interested in my dollars so I'm quite happy to spend it here in Colorado:tup:.Its a shame.Ive been enjoying lots of shopping in Denver and will need extra suitcases for the journey back.It seems prohibition and the old ways suit some people, each to their own.

I wanted to add my experiences of Denver briefly.I'm staying downtown.ID is needed at every dispensary i visited. The dispensaries off 16th are upmarket professional and well run.I visited river rock north outta town.again very nice professional people.the tender took time out with Us explaining how everything worked. The recreational experiment in Colorado is being conducted slowly and concisely one step at a time and thats what I am experiencing.
I ve made a point to let people we meet in Denver know we flew in especially to spend our dollars and enjoy our vacation here.there is surprise from locals.Gee why here ?

Also speaking to people here many of whom don't consume, the consensus is business is booming. There is a knock on effect happening in every industry.house prices are going up,crime is going down.Out and about You dont notice anything unusual or untoward.i avoid nuisance mostly and haven t experienced that here at all.the taxi driver mentioned the place feels calmer.Denver definitely has a nice buzz to it and has all those nice old Civic buildings and lots to explore museums galleries etc..there are also a few quality parks in town to chill and enjoy picnics.

Colorado springs next.spreading FC love to You peeps and to the folks here in business in Denver.

Colorado Springs is a conservative haven. Many retired military mentalities and "Tea party" types too.
From the quick searching now, it seems that Colorado Springs has banned non-medical sales. There is a growers farm in the foothills nearby.

BTW, the thin air at mile-high affects the Hammers efficiency of fire.

Maggie's farm has a recreational location in Manitou Springs now but once you get outside of Denver heading south the next recreational shops are in Pueblo. If you go to Pueblo check out The Greener Side and The Spot, both have quality at respectable prices.

If you have the time I recommend a trip to San Isabel National Forest. Its about an hour south of Pueblo and really beautiful.

Yeah, I tend to think that vapor odor (fresh or residue) is still under the radar where dogs are concerned. We should enjoy it while it lasts. :)

Yeah. Use some oil in it and don't clean it before you go either. ;)

If your able to I would even boil your stuff (if your able to!) like if you had a pipe or something. Maybe even boil it with some dish detergent too. Depends on how paranoid you are :ugh:

just wanted to share my travel story with you.

traveling from:
Toronto -New York: by bus
New York- Toronto: by plane
carrying: solo(clean), steams (clean), abv pills(dry), spacebar

let me just start of by saying i get a little paranoid when it comes to situation as serious as this. In reality there was no need to stress over what i was caring over the border.

OK, so the mega bus stops off at customs in buffalo, the bags are off-loaded then the passengers exit the bus and proceed to speak with the customs officer. Once finished you find your luggage and pass it through a metal detector alone with your carry on luggage. i passed through with my solo some stems, about 10g of abv capsules and a space bar. i think if its just a metal detector there should be no issues, I don't think many people know what a vape looks like let alone the internals. i think the pills are the best thing to come along with vapeing had 4 at 10:30 vaped a bowl and was good till i got to new york 12 hours later (did have that space bar mid way through tho):D. i didn't bring any flowers but i am confident that i could bring a small amount of ground flowers in a jarz or something air tight. now of course none of that would matter if there was a dog hopefully next time there won't.

the way back was a little more relaxing. security was a breeze pills and solo went through a metal detector same deal no issues. walked through security. now my friend i was traveling with got searched and turns out had a knife in his backpack. which goes to show what the security at the border is like.

The Minivap and PAX recently traveled from Zurich to NY in the check-in luggage. Cleaned them good beforehand, but if someone wanted to "find a trace", they would have been able to find it in the lab.

Just checking in to say home LAX-Brisbane and all went well..had a hell of a commute through TSA in Lax for the flight home to Brisbane.i had quite a bit to consume (cookies)before arrival at LAX which got me perfect for a 13 hour flight.

I was carrying in my checked in bag

1 x hammer 2 Jyarz and half of my daisy vaporiser all isoed with a final rinse through hot as soapy water..
rest of daisy was shipped USPS glass etc before I Left.i put my rolling tobacco with me in my Jyarz and stems next to my hammer in the lotus hold all which worked really well for discreet travel.

what a cookie buzz that was or not through check in, delays, queues, buses to off terminal hangers ...Man holy moly.im never gonna get in my seat...I even had this cheeky TSA guy who was the spit of Chris tucker poke fun at me whilst I was waiting inline at the scanners.hey he says to Me and my wife and the rest of the nearby queue... "I'm watching this guy" Looking at me in my cap.So I replied groggily, peering out from under my cap."Ahh man I'm so tired I did a helluva lot taday "Then he proceeded to talk to an Aussie in front of us in a vest and boardies & tattoos down his arms.hmmm "nice tattoos" he says & points him straight into the testing swab queue off to one side.
does anyone know what they do there?...looked like ISO or something they had and wipes and stuff.after getting through there and the scanners I was chilled as a man could be.

Hoped onto the plane...slept 12 hours....Yesss..and cleared immigration in Brisbane and bag search let me through without any checks.I was clean anyway.

Won't bore you with holiday details,Got to Isabel forest Gonzo thanks:) awesome and maggies farm rec disp in manitou had a big line of respectable retail folks all ages waiting there turn to sample the good stuff .Colorado springs was in and out .could nt wait to leave.Visited the resort at Pagossa springs, orcas in Olympic park WA ,hemp fest in seattle margies pot place on Wa/OR border and the the Columbia Gorge and the waterfalls in Oregon

Networked lots and shared good vibrations when it was right to do so and sometimes when it did nt quite feel right too.

One kid in a retail dispensary I visited summed it up regarding legalisation,in a laid back, little drawl kind of way.

"This is going worldwide man.we are going for worldwide..

Wow so gracious ,yet so determined sums my experience up of the folks I met and spoke to in the big country.doing it :)

My MFLB just did two domestic flights in my checked bag. I didn't bother cleaning it except for brushing it out. It wasn't sealed in anything either. I put my Jack Herer & Rock Star in a plastic bottle, with nothing special to minimize odour. I wasn't worried because I know they aren't looking for somebody's personal stash or especially their vapourizer. Airport security is all about weapons, not drugs. The swabbing they do is a test for explosive materials, not drugs. I know I shouldn't say this but I find the whole paranoia over traveling with vapourizers to be hilarious but also sad.

I want to emphasize "domestic" there. I wouldn't do this if I were crossing a border, although it has nothing to do with airport security, it's about Customs & Immigration. In Canada, the consequences of possession are no longer a concern to me. If anything went wrong crossing a border, the consequences would be much more severe. I still don't believe there's much risk but since it's one I don't have to take, I don't. I do not do anything cannabis-related while out of the country. (Except visit head shops.)

Wouldn't it be easier, to just mail parts? Instead of taking it on plane? If they need to be stoned on the flight, (although I am sure that that is not what this topic is about, trust me I'm sure this is more about transporting vaporizer parts rather than getting stoned on the flight, but just in case) then they could always eat a brownie to.

I don't think people participating on this thread are looking for ways to get/be stoned on the flight. They are looking for ways to transport vaporizers and vaporizables.

So no, eating a brownie doesn't make that much easier. :)

but it sure makes that flight more pleasant

Oh Yes...Brownies/cookies edibles are so good for long flights.the sedative effect really helps promote sleep and rest.
For the first time ever, after a 14 hour flight..slept most of it:D.I suffered little or no Jetlag effects.pretty amazing and made me think Im onto something here.

when I can though I prefer inhalation over edibles.I just enjoy the vaping ritual so my vape comes packed in my luggage for the good times at the other end.

In a lotta ways though I prefer the cbd effects of edibles over the effects I get from vaping.

but hey....Any which way you can....Right turn Clyde:whoa:

Normally I would consider the 4 or more hours required of an edible high to be excessive, but when youre confined in a metal tube for a long period of time, those dreary hours become more endurable. Even the inflight entertainment.

Only birdshit and fools
I just returned from Zurich Switzerland from Miami.
Once we were in Switzerland we opened the baggage, took out an oil rig, domeless quartz nail, 3gs of Amber, dabber and torch and got our heads right! Also brought an atmos mini for on the go. No problems at all.
On return we cleaned the rig and nail and slick containers. Customs in Miami was a joke. No problems there. Vape on!

Glad it worked out I thought the airport in Denver wasn't friendly that way.

Yep me too .Go with caution is my advice at least until the laws change and that will happen soon enough.I googled for info landing in both states and spoke to a lot of people in both states while I was out and about, some you would definitely say we're credible.Opinions were varied yes and no.
In the end I made sure everything I carried was super clean.

TBH I think the TSA have priorities.
I was quite edibley sedated & very sleepy :freak: in the queue flying home from LAX .
The Chris Tucker lookalike TSA agent who first engaged me at the beginning of the queue by looking under my cap....(apparently cameras can't see under a cap peak so well)..... met me further along in the queue. We made eye contact and he grinned and said 'Sleep'would be a good option for me on the flight home.I smiled and agreed.I thought to myself here's a guy who knows what he's doing and watched as he engaged a cranky looking guy in front of me:).Fair enough I suppose.:peace:

Well What I know is passengers cannot use electronic cigarette or portable vaporizers on flights. There are many airlines which provide the rules and regulations against vape, they recommend not to vape on your seat. Whereas portable vaporizers do not emit any smoke that can be detected by the smoke detectors.

While vapourizers don't emit smoke, vapour can trigger a smoke detector. In particular, photoelectric detectors are sensitive to things other than smoke—such as vapour. Vapour doesn't spread as much as smoke, however, so it isn't as likely to set off the alarm. It is still possible so you have to be careful.

Vaping while on a plane sounds like a recipe for disaster. Few thousand dollar fine, and in today's freaked-out world, can lead to arrest, like the diplomat in 2010 who puffed in the bathroom. Sometimes flights are diverted to land early or delayed takeoff, to escort the offender off. I've been on one of those flights, and it sucks big time. Cops came on the plane and drug him out (smoking + mouthing off to crew). Pretty extreme examples, but not a situation I want to get anywhere near. Getting caught setting off a smoke detector with a funny-looking electronic device in my hand isn't worth it to me. My tolerance is fairly high, but I don't have a problem with a t-break even for a coast-to-cast flight. If I couldn't wait, edibles sound much safer.

FWIW~ travelled with my Hammer to and from NOLA, no issues except having to leave butane behind. Decided to toss the dirty, stock, crack-like stem rather than bothering with cleaning and returning home with it... Got an Ed's that I would much rather use anyway.

help help! pack solo in checked or carry-on? (clean. worried about lost baggage.) going international.

my worry is that the aromatherapy unit is not seen often and looks like a terrorist device.
