Cool. The free flow is the important part here. I has to melt quickly and completely and flow freely. Acting like butter will not work the same (if at all) even if it burns off clean. Something is preventing half a gram or so of concentrate from soaking into the reservoir it seems. If the ceramic is clean otherwise it comes down to heat and material. It seems like the heat is fine, you make vapor for a while.......

Have you tried other oil? Fairly thin CO2 oils seem to work very reliably.

You might also try to load some onto the plate and melt it there keeping the core below as cool as possible, that is 'creep up on it' with longer and longer pulses of power. Not hot enough to make vapor, but so the just melted oil has a hotter core to flow into.

OF, thanks for the direction! i will try this tonight and see if it will help-

Is my cartridge supposed to feel really loose. I can move it from side to side I feel like it needs to be tightened.

Use co2 oil

Yes, that's normal and necessary for thermal expansion reasons. The main body 'floats' on the four screws threaded into the core. Don't force it.

Use co2 oil

I'm not sure what good repeating this advice is to the OP. I'd suggested CO2 oils, "Have you tried other oil? Fairly thin CO2 oils seem to work very reliably." but they are far from necessary, other types can (and do) work well if they do well on the foil test. It's good to remember that only a fraction of us have access to CO2 oils, and unlike BHO, QWISO, Hexane and other techniques the cost/complexity of rhe rig prevents isolated individuals from making their own.

Good to try if you can get them, generally excellent extracts I think, but not necessary to proper use/enjoyment.

How do you know so much about The Luna

Hi all,

Just found a source for wax and I'm trying to decide if I should splurge on a Luna or Cera. Probably unnecessary, since I have a PnP, but I'm curious about opinions on Cera vs. Luna (and I'll cross-post this).

Thanks for any opinions.

I ended up picking up used units of each through the FC classifieds. I like them both a lot.

For me, the Luna has been more finicky. I get consistent thick clouds with the Cera all the time. Every once in a while, the Luna just doesn't hit quite right, and I haven't been able to figure out why. Largely just annoying as I might have to hit the Luna a couple of times to get it going versus the Cera which always hits hard.

Luna is way more portable in size and weight and probably resistance to drops.

Of course the Luna button is considered more ergonomic, but personally I don't mind the Cera button now that I have a good one handed technique figured out. The Luna button did have some issues on some earlier production models; not sure if that is fully resolved.

IMO, for home use or if you are using a case, I would go with the Cera. If you want something that is more pocket friendly, the Luna is better.

This is great info. Thank you very much. Stealth (primarily around the house, but pocket friendly is good) is my biggest concern. Does that change anything? Have you been able to discern a difference between the two in terms of odor generated (I'm thinking mostly wax/oil for this but am vaguely intrigued with the loose leaf...).

Thanks again.

I have noticed no difference in smell between the 2. I find the Luna to look more like a large ecig which some may find more stealthy.

Luna will only do concentrate carts and not loose leaf, so Cera has the edge there.

LOOKS LIKE THERMO ESSANCE IS CLOSING SHOP TOMORORROW! WTF!!!!!

That's a bummer indeed. I wonder what the future will bring. Perhaps someone will buy it up?

Uhhhh what? Source? If this is true I'd be VERY shocked and completely depressed.

EDIT: Its on the website. I feel burned actually. Not like how dare they, but more like god damn it there is NO direct competition.

I agree. I wonder if it could be successful to make only 'the old stuff' (T1, Revolution/DART, Evolution, etc) and drop Cera and Luna? I would, of course, call for a restart/retooling as the lines are so different.

I wonder if they will have some means of ongoing service. I also kinda wonder how and when I'm going to get my Luna back (and how long it'll work before needing service on the switch again and how that will happen.......

Sad day.

We all were kidding ourselves by not seeing this coming. They went from super active here to ghost, and IMO the level of service dropped. I needed things serviced over and over again and the attention to detail just didn't seem to be there. I was willing to overlook that stuff because of the AMAZING experience I had in the T1 days. Everything was better back then IMO, besides battery life.

If the T1 were re-released with no changes other than using 18650s, I'd buy one today.

Too bad you can't start your own vape company OF... you know exactly what we want by now haha.

SHIIIIIIIIT. Well I hardily suggest the firefly as an herb vape to anyone needing a replacement. As far as finding a comparable oil vape.... I have no damn clue.

To be fair, the commenting on here was mainly Tim and that stopped a while ago when he left. Long before the last partner decided to leave for a new project...that was the real warning sign things were going down hill...

As for alternatives I disagree. I feel the fire fly was a great alternative to the cera LL and a little easier to use for newbs.

This blows! I was just about to send in my EO cart for a rebuild - can't seem to clean it well enough to perform the way it did when I first got it. And it seems like my LL cart needs attention once every 8-10 months to perform reliably. Not sure what I'll do when they need those adjustments...

Too bad, this stuff was pretty cool compared to the competitors in it's class.

Argh. Horrible timing for me. My Luna cart just had a screw come out. I know this is not a simple user fix, but it seems I don't have an alternative at this point. If anyone has any tips, let me know. Feel free to PM if you are concerned about liability and such. I have no choice other than to try to fix myself.

You disagree with what? I was suggesting the firefly as an alternative so we are on the same page there.

I prefer the firefly to the cera LL for herbs. I'm fine there. The problem is I've never hit anything quite like the cera EO when it comes to oil.

Whoops misread your post yeah I agree... I think the Hercules is a great and possibly better alternative than the EO...yes there's a slight learning curve but once you get the hang of it, it's a beast and if it gets gunked up just take it apart and clean it up to new...

Add in the iris Vv top ( v2 is in the works so it's not available yet) and it far outshines the EO ( IMO)

I might have to pick up a herc, but then I'd also have to buy a new persei because mine smells like burnt electronics and the top is fried.

I noticed on the site they seem to sell every part other than the top?
