Arizer Solo

New this year @KidFated.
It will produce vapor but not nearly as well as glass. At the time I was trying to convert my wife. It really turned her off and she made me roll her one . Now she uses glass stems and loves the solo.

Yes I let it soak and use higher temps. That's another reason I don't use it. My battery was always dead. I am a daily user and after a couple long sessions back on the charger. For me and my unit glass works great.

We all do what works for us. There is no right or wrong. We are all different. I think that's something we say often in this thread. I only hear a lot of support, folks are really nice especially in the Solo thread.:leaf::peace:

EDIT. I think some of us Solo Fans want everybody to enjoy the Solo like we do. Sorry if I've ever came across as snarky, I don't mean to.

I can not use my wood stem in my solo effectively. I understand what your saying @Unnotrafitto . I mentioned it before but I didn't go down that trail very hard as I was in the minority so it must be me.

I for one can't get even close to the same vapor production with the ss bowl and wood stem that i can with the stock glass stems. I have to go through at least 2-3 timeouts(24-36 min) to truly finish the load. The stock glass gives a much quicker session with much bigger denser vapor then the wood stems.

Dense clouds are not the only consideration when using a stem.
It comes down to, do you get medicated? I get medicated with the Ed stems, I do crank the heat up a level with the Solo.
Often, I'm using the glass with the Solo, more than not if I'm in the house. I prefer the PVHES even with the newer 2014 Solo, some prefer the stock stems. I think I may have some lung damage from years of combustion. The PVHES glass stems are easier for me to use physically. I also medicate for pain, so if something doesn't get the job done, I don't continue to use it.

I enjoy using the Eds wooden stems. It's a great option to use in the garden. Also works well when going for walks. My muscles have a tendency to cramp up. Cannabis helps to relax my muscles.

WOW over 1100+ pages almost 1200. I am seeing everyone talking about this new 2014 model solo... Can someone give me a comparison to the older model. Is it just more airflow or does the heater work better? TIA

2014 Solo
better airflow
Charge/use option
Quicker heat up time

Some folks say the newer model doesn't get as hot as the older model.

Initially I was able to get 12 ten min sessions with the Solo. I get 7 or 8 10 min sessions now after 3 1/2 months. The battery will degrade over time. When charging I take it off the charge before a solid green light (just under a full charge). Doing this will help save the battery life, fellow FC member OF suggested this.

Some folks like the older model better. I have the newer and the older model. I prefer the newer model just because of the easier draw alone. That's just me.

I use the old model because it still works fine.
113 seal provides a nice seal.
I use PHVES or stock glass.
I will get a new one later however I'll use this old one às long as it works!

About Ed's wooden stems : when compared to the stock glass stems with the same load size and material, I too get less visible vapor and a bit less flavor.
I still get nicely medicated, but due to these facts I mostly use them when I'm outside or when I'm sharing my Solo with clumsy people.
If I'm trying to convert someone to vaporization, I usually use a glass stem.

I don't think people can expect to get the exact same results between glass and wood, but each material definitively serves its purpose.

Between glass and metal, not wood ;) I wonder how performance would be affected if Ed used a thinner-walled bushing...

I'd love an all wood solo stem, the Ed's TnT all wood bowl for the EV2 is simply awesome as is one of Alans HI wood roasting tubes i use with the UD. Now with the Daisy and it's wooden herb chamber I'm loving the unique signature of Herbs roasted in wood even more.

Seems to be the way Nature/God intended for me to vape herbs.

I have to agree with your experience here as I too was having a hard time to get satisfactory results.
It is a preference for some or a solid backup for others.
Nevertheless, there are a couple things you could try if you are inclined. I had contributed some of the low vapour production to fast air flow and performed this mod where I sanded the length down some to shorten the side slits. This helped some and I started using the stem more. Than I found this post by @hd_rider who had the same idea but had gone even further by beveling the edge in. This makes for much less contact from the base to the ss bowl, thus lessening the heat being sucked off the bottom so fast. Lessens the initial heat up time to get vapour.
IMHO, Easy too. Just need rubber tubing, a drill and some sandpaper.

Thanks Pipes for offering the handy base for the Solo. Out of site out of mind far as the chipping goes. This will help protect the bottom. The handy plugin allows me to charge and stand my Solo upright.

I have that same base.
This summer I'm remodeling.
However my PIPES accessories for the SOLO will be front and center.
Your stand looks cool.
Be nice to use mine.

Has anyone upgraded to the Solo from a different portable?

I'm upgrading to the Solo from the Pinnacle Pro.

I'm sure it's somewhat about preference. But. Overall isn't the Solo better than the PNP, in terms of durability and parts not melting?

I understand no portable on the market is without it's quirks. But. Parts melting and the risk of inhaling chemicals from plastics is a ridiculous issue to be having with a final product.

only way i could see the solo being better was f it came in a smaller size. Seems like its possible...imo i dont see why the solo main unit is as large diameter as it is

I have both, and have both the PN PRO and OG. I still use my Pinnacles for travel and outside and stealthy situations. SOLO for indoors and more relaxing situations. SOLO is easier to use with glass. Never had an issue with either. Did you get the GPONG.

I think the Solo will be a great addition to anybody's vaporizer collection. The Solo is my daily driver. The thread is almost 1200 pages what does that tell you?

You can read through the thread but that would take you too long. Maybe read just 20 pages back is all. You'll see there are a lot of happy Solo customers. Buy your Solo from any of the vendors on this site and in case you have to return it, you won't get any hassles. I bought mine through Puffitup. They have great customer service.
