Vaporizer suggestion!

Hi everyone :)
This is my first post and I'm already asking something hah!
Okay so I've been lurking around as a guest and I've read some really cool stuff about vaporizers so I decided to buy one.. I saw many good reviews about the arizer solo so I think that'll be my choice, what do you guys think about it? I want something efficient and durable.
My only problem (idk if it really is a problem) is that I'm from italy therefore I've no idea where I should order from.. I gave a quick to ebay's prices for the sole and they are all around 200 € (~250$) when on PV it's 160 $ haha
Do you guys have any suggestion?
Also I've read that it's better to use it with a water gong but I've no idea where to order one neither which one..
If you guys could point me in the right direction took I'd really appreciate it :D
Thanks:leaf::peace:

You can't go wrong with a Solo as your first vaporiser IME ..... it's efficient, simple to use, built to last and easy to keep clean. A couple of European stores listed here sell the Solo - but most reputable head/vaporiser shops tend to stock them. Don't forget if you order from the US/Canada - you usually have to add on delivery and customs & excise charges.

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to read before signing up and asking the usual question (What should I buy??)

Yes, the solo is a great introduction to the world of vaporizing. it's gotta be the largest threads on this site, if not close to it! You don't get to be one of the most talked about vapes without doing something right!

Don't make the mistake I made and pass over the Airizer Solo because you wanted something more aesthetically pleasing!

Which vape did you get instead?

The Davinci Ascent

It's a nice vape, even convinced me to fuck combustion long enough to get hooked on vaporizing.

Unfortunately the multiple daily sessions killed my first Ascent after one month of use! I knew I'd be vape-less for over a week waiting for a replacement. So I jumped the gun and got a Lotus vaporizer. (I said screw it, I need a simple elegant vape that shouldn't fail under normal use!). The Ascent is a decent vape, but it's way overpriced in my opinion - I say $175 maximum, not the $250 list price I paid for it!

I still want a Solo at some point, but with the Lotus, Ascent, and e-Nano, I have no need for another vape (but ooo that VAS nagging me)

Alright thanks for answers guys!! I sent a message to planetvape asking if they ship to italy and if so how much it'll cost :)
Which water tool should I get? I want something not too big, cheap and reliable.. I was thinking about getting the pinnacle water tool since it's pretty small, any other suggestion?

Thank you for the suggestions! :)
Can you vouch for them and their products reliability? They seem to be from china and the first thing I've read on this forum is that glass from china might not be the best (worst in some cases)...:|
Also do their tools still need a gong adapter? Can't really tell it from the pictures since I'm kind of new to this stuff
The pinnacle water tool is still my first choice but I can't seem to find somebody selling for a good price haha (or maybe I'm just bad at google'ing :lmao:)

The female opening is 18/19 mm and the quality of the glass is remarkable for the price. I have the D020 bubbler Ratchett suggested, and it's very good--much better than the PNWT, IMO.

As usual, Chinese glass is lower quality. If you aren't careful, you'll get something not even 2mm thick and brittle! However, there are several vendors selling thicker glass at wholesale prices (they just so happen to also sell in quantities of 1).

I have purchased many times from sunshinestore - his quality is very good. I see the same glass at my LHS for $155 (yes that $30 piece, is $155 at my local shop!). There is a huge thread over in the glass section where people are searching for the best vendors and reporting back on what they find. Sunshinestore is one perfect example - I would have never found them without the help of this site. Start with the D020 at $30 - it's very small and cute - I was blown away by the quality for the price (I'll never buy glass from the LHS again!)

Yes, you will need a GonG adapter - those are usually specific to your vaporizer. I have gong adapters for all my vapes, and they're all different. You will need an 18mm GonG for the Solo. The D020 has a female joint, so you're golden (gong's usually have a male joint unless you get a custom order).

(Note Some of the newer "oil rigs" that you're starting to see have a male joint and you need a female to female adapter to connect to a GonG). If you're confused about which is which - look for the ground glass (frosted) - if the ground glass is on the outside of the fitting, it's a male joint. If it's in the inside, it's a female joint. There are two sizes - 14mm and 18mm (sometimes AKA 18.8 and 19mm)

----

Edit - don't get the pinnacle water tool - good idea in theory - but 9 out of 10 people on this site aren't thrilled with them - I have one and haven't used it more than a handful of times - craning your neck to hit a piece is unappealing to me when I can have bent-neck bubblers for the same price!

Chinese glass typically has a lower degree of quality control, but it's all cosmetic. If you get a blemish that affects the use of the piece, I'm pretty sure they'll replace it; that's pretty rare though, from what I gather. If you can spend 300 USD on a matrix ion go for it, but you can get a 30 USD knockoff that'll let you experience that perc in a cheaper, more fragile piece. You'll find some of the same glass on US and EU sites for slightly more (I'm essentially positive that the place I got my 50 USD pirelli tire perc just orders wholesale from dhgate and upsells them.) You get your order in 2-4 days instead of 2-4 weeks, albeit for 150-200% the price. They do sell knockoff hydrotubes on those chinese sites as well.

Also, breaking 30 dollars of glass doesn't hurt nearly as much as dropping a piece that cost a paycheck.

I currently have the nano and the lotus, and I like them both for different purposes. I've turned my lotus into the one that I take with me anywhere; my nano hasn't been unplugged in weeks. It gives tastier vapor, but requires an AC outlet. The lotus has that small cost of butane over time, but the vape itself is 75 USD cheaper. I'd recommend either of them based on your particular needs, but if you get an AC vape, be sure to get a power inverter. I think that MOST of them are designed with US outlets in mind.

There were solos on massdrop fairly recently for as low as 130 USD iirc; if you like the solo a lot, but want to wait to pull the trigger because of the cost, you could pick up something like the Lotus now and wait for another group buy wholesale; it's such a popular item that I'm sure they'll do another promotion eventually.
