The HI

Just got home.... Decided to not just hit the clubs, I needed to surf. I was overdue. Been like 2 weeks! Anyway I'm home and covered on sand from my toes to my nose. Still though pictures before a shower! I did promise.

Ok here's some of my collection. This is only my HI collection, and believe me it would be bigger except for that pesky wait list lol! There are also more things not pictured of course like other VoltageKeepers, battery packs, a box of various cables, glass stems, etc...

From left to right we have the new stem Alan made, 2 GonG 14mm one long & one short, a 14mm Guatemalan Granadillo shorty WonG by ED (modded by me to solid wood), 2 Black Locust 14mm WonG stems one glass tip & one all wood by Alan, one 18mm all wood B&W Ebony WonG by Alan, and two Redwood Burl glass tipped WonG stems in 14mm and 18mm.

In the back are two VKs, from left there is a small/tall the works case, and a custom designed (for me) internal battery pack powered VK. My other VKs are being upgraded and not here for the photo (in case anyone is wondering where they went).

This is my 100 year old pine HI. It's made from salvaged wood from a remodel. Love it!

My first HI. The Redwood Burl with a Granite base. My baby... Even have stems to match (see first pic)...Alan rocks at making matching stems! Even when he's not trying!

So there you have it. My current collection.

I feel like a proud papa right now. Lol.

=)

That redwood burl with granite is beautiful!!!!! Did u supply the material for that or was that one just made for u?

Thank you!

It was actually acquired in a trade, and recently serviced by Alan - Though it didn't need it!!! I'm sure @Alan could fill you in on the specifics of the design and materials. I believe it is a custom piece though, but can not speak for sure as I didn't get a history with it.

The stems were made recently, and Alan surprised me by matching two of them to it! Really cool because I only casually mentioned it if I remember correctly. Makes me love using it that much more!

=)

The ordering process is simple. You ask to be put on the list, I think there is a year wait for them. When your name comes up then you discuss wood and stems and such.

What hoyo said! Though if you watch the classifieds like a hawk..... Very rarely you might find a HI.

They are sought after so they so they don't last long for sale.

Best bet, email Alan, get on the list, and wait. It's well worth it!

=)
Yeah I was fortunate enough to get an older high from Alan. Even though it is an older core...it rocks!!!!

I never had an older core HI, but I can attest the newer core units are incredible!

Alan made me a set of Amboyna HIs that are very likely to retire my whole vape collection. And that is saying a lot. I loved my Nanos greatly, but they just can't compete with the open airflow of a HI.

I'll def check the classified but I also sent @Alan an email just awaiting a response, hopefully it's good news lol

Now that is a hell of a VVPS, be careful of that one...you can go 'Poof' if you turn it up too high...

I run my HIsaber between 11.8v and 12.2v.

The HI needs no help combusting. I could always do that no problem with the standard 12v. The harder part was getting a huge rip while avoiding scorched herb. It's possible, of course, by manipulating the stem and keeping the herb just far away enough not to burn. But it's so much easier with a vvps. For me, it unleashes the range and versatility of the HI and makes it so much more pleasurable to use.

I agree with you 100%. My VVPS gives me the ability to control my pleasurable vapor range to my satisfaction. My VVPS has an output range of 0 to 18 volts and as stated above, what works for me with my HIsaber is about 11.8v to 12.2v with no combustion. The output range of the VVPS that @exit is going to use is '0 to 120/140v'. Can he use it at +/- 12v? Sure, but the ideal range is a very small slice of the entire voltage spectrum that his VVPS can produce. It would be really easy to accidentally overvolt his HI.
@exit knows what he's doing.
I'd hate to see the entire HI combust!
(we need an emoticon for that, a log vape in flames)

I have a universal power supply with switchable voltage. I was thiknig of maybe using it while i wait for my voltage keeper as I can switch between 12V and 10.5V.

What are people with HIbrid cores enjoying? I will want to use it right away, i know it!

I can go as low as 10.25 on my HIbrid + VK, but lately I've been keeping it stuck at 11.35 and only using the HI during the evening hours. I've found at this voltage I can inhale as slowly and relaxed as possible without any possibility of burning the material, a style which works perfectly with my gridded inline.

I loosely and amateurishly estimate that this never gets the material above 390 F, or not much above, as I can put the material in a Solo at level 5 (393 F) and get a few wispy hits out of it, and based on the color of the HI ABV.
