My lauch box was very hot the first few days. No matter how fine I ground the herb it got black edges and green middles.
Now that I have used it(PLENTY!), it does not get that hot any more. It has sort of mellowed a bit.
I can hold a fresh battery in for 20 sec without combustion, and I do. Now that both my skill with the box and the temp has gone down, it hits like a dream!

what I came in for was to mention that while I was taking a hit down a historic alley, someone suddenly came around the corner down the way. I didn't know exactly what to do...then I had a flash of insight...and put the LB up to my ear like it was a cell phone...

This site is called FUCK COMBUSTION so I would think a few more people would be more concerned with actually avoiding combustion- not to mention the potential safety issue of this device actually burning someone or starting a fire.

When combustion occurrs @ 425 all the carsonagies and toxins become active...this is what we are trying to avoid as medical patients who use vaporizers
Good Vaporizers will eleminate 80% of the Carsonagies, toxins, benzins ect...... not promote them.
Mod note: The facts are- combustion does not occur as low as 425 F (more like 450). Toxins are in evidence to some degree well below combustion, and are only avoided by staying at low vaporizing temps. Your 80% figure is not backed by any linked study and even good vaporizers can reach combustion or close to it if they're designed to do so. Please make an effort to support your statements on this forum if you present them as facts.

Also, under the right conditions it does appear this device could actually be a fire hazard. In some sitations all it takes is a hot coal to get something burning.

Ain't a conspiracy bud. I've been coming to this site for quite a while now but never got around to registering. I've seen vapedg13 around on some of the other boards too and saw his complaint and it rather coincides with my complaints about the LB so I've thrown in my two cents. I also like his sense of humor.
Really though, I don't want to see a device like this give us all bad PR. We're fighting for legalization over here right now and the last thing we need is some news that some old granny somewhere lit herself up in bed using the damn thing.

Lets assume that 13's lb is defective and heats up to fast and to hot.
It seems that draw rate has little effect on the heat
. Yes vicki a call to
blissville is in order . 13 will have to have a raffel on who gets the hot defective
box because most of us would love to try and tame that hot little beast.
I find this very funny as just two days ago someone posted about never seeing
a complaint on the LB. Well we have a hum dinger right here and its kind of
refreshing to hear that someone has found issues with the box.
The fact that 13 is an old vapist leads me to conclude that his observations
are probably on point and valid, but his mastery of LB technique might be
suspect. I hope he tells us what happens with his friends LB.
I've used my LB to revape some golden brown ABV from my friends
volcano. I got vaked!!

I got it from Puff It Up and the free 3 stage grinder that came with it is really nice.
Does anyone know the specs of the charger that it comes with? And the batteries?
I'm debating on whether I need to spend money on a charger kit.

It is possible you have a defective box...I have heard of that before. Though many people come here and discover user error we have also seen boxes run too hot or too cold.
You should at least contact Magic Flight and give them a chance to troubleshoot and/or replace it. They have a warranty that cannot be beat with excellent customer service. I think almost every person that has tried mine has bought one. I have other vapes but my LB's get a lot of use as they really does work well and combustion doesn't happen easily for me. If you've read all the advice and your box is still combusting so easily I'd email them if it were me.
