so - on using the Volcano pad ... I have a few of these since I don't use them with my 'cano. I'm guessing you cut the pad in the shape of the oven? I've been packing my Pax ultra full but feel like some is being wasted as I don't stir the oven and dump it after a few hits. If using the cano pad means I can pack it tight about half full and place the pad on top, I will definitely give that a try.

Exactly, cut it to shape (I used wire cutters) and one pad could make 2 for the pax. You use less flowers and it's vaped evenly all the way through.

You can call me Caveman.
I know a lot of you guys are into double screening, volcano pads, and the like.... I'd just like to say that I've never felt the need to mod my oven at all. I like to grind well in an SCS or Mendo Mulcher, pack my oven tight, and go to town. One stir towards the end, and bam! Perfectly vaped loads every time.

I'm not against other methods, just thought id throw out that maybe not all pax'a are equal. I know my first one sure wasn't half as nice as my new one. Didn't vape nearly as well. Both were purchased from authorized retailers. I was an early adopter so that may have some influence, but my current pax, bought this year, fucking rocks with no oven mods at all.

Love my pax.

Just picked up a Pax few days ago and IT KICKS ass!!! 2 hits from it in highest setting medicates me for hours! It really pays for itself in a long run, I think HEATH > WEALTH, that's one thing brainwashed population always forgets. And it does well for both ;)

Here's my little review for others who consider a reliable portable:

Vapor is SUPER THICK, CLEAN AND TASTY! And it comes with TEN YEARS WARRANTY!!!! I'll be a lonely old man walking around at a national forest preserve, with a wooden cane and my Pax admiring nature enjoyin life, and guess what! my PAX will still covered if it malfunctions caused by misfortune!!!

So easy to use: You can use it either you're pissed drunk or tripping balls! Just follow the blinking light beam :) Try using a MFLB or other vapes with no heat sensor during the peak of an LSD/Cactus trip :p

I accidentally dropped mine today, and its still working. Is this thing pretty shock resistant? I should have no worry as long as the thing works right?

What's the best way to use the ABV that you get out of your Pax? I have a ton already

I feed my ABV to my worms. This makes them horny and hungry. Horny worms make more worms. Hungry worms make more castings. Earthworm castings might be the best thing you could put in an organic garden. The circle of life is a beautiful thing. I'm high.

Yeah, I can confirm this! Not only is the Pax body built to take some bumps and bruises.. the internals are also very well engineered so nothing slips out of place in the event of a tumble. As long as it heats up and shows the correct lights.. you're good to go!

I cant seem to stop letting my mouthpiece jettison across the room when I open it though. It's completely user-error and I know it; I have a bad habit of clicking it and letting go causing the mouthpiece to fly open with force. Gotta keep that thumb on there until it's open. :2c:

Looks like Ploom finally got rid of those annoying mouthpiece lube packets.

It also has a brush applicator.

http://www.ploom.com/pax-accessories/mouthpiece-lubricant
I ordered this and also the carry case http://www.ploom.com/pax-accessories/pax-carry-case.

The applicator works well and is reasonably priced for what seems like a lifetime supply.

The carry case is well made and fits very nicely, but overpriced at $19.99 IMO. Also, while the material does help conceal some odor, Ploom could have done much better if they had lined their case with a charcoal liner. I think there's a niche market for a true deodorizing bag that is currently not being met. A Pax specific 'deodorizer carry case' could fetch 30 bucks which undercuts the only other decent deodorizer bag vendor that I could find, http://www.deodorizerbag.com.

Also, while shipping costs were ridiculously more than actual shipping costs, I ordered on a Friday and it arrived on Saturday. So I'll consider the extra to be for 'handling' and I'm happy with my transaction

Royt Smell Safe Krypto Kit Case Olive Color And Poker Royt RYO Case

I picked this up off eBay for under 20. Fits my pax nice but has minimal extra room but I don't keep a lot of stuff with my pax. Just a tool couple alcohol wipes and my pax. I keep my material in a med size air tight aluminum space case can. The space case is air tight/smell proof too these two combine are unsmellable lol

Hey fam, Been rocking my Pax since December and it has been a dandy piece of machinery. Since I have owned it I have only cleaned it once (due to stickiness of mouthpiece) and it has been working flawlessly. Love the aesthetics and the fact that most people believe it is a tobacco e cig.

So far I am charging roughly every 4 days to a week, and basically my protocol for usage is to keep it on orange and take 2 or 3 huge inhales (holding it in) and that concludes my sesh. I used to run a few times on green, then stop, then orange, then stop, then red,,but i read on reddit the tip about starting or keeping it on orange throughout the duration and I am very pleased with that.

I will turn it on red once my flavor is out on Orange and hot damn, i get plenty lifted. Almost too much for my liking, but the flavor is a bit overdone for my liking, but it gets the job done.

I smoke e-cigs and received this case as a gift:

http://wholesale.vapage.com/Vapage_Weekender_Case_p/vpa-069.htm

Works awesomely and holds the Pax nice n tight, and it does a very decent job of covering up the smell

Peace dudes!

Any news on an updated version? This models been out for 2+ years now.

I hear ya, I am wondering if Ploom has ever heard the industry mantra "innovate or die".

Would love to have a built in stir tool since this device so needs to have it's payload stirred a few times. I carry a small brass nail but if they could make something that stores in the body, that would be huge.

I think every single portable vaporizer needs a removable battery.
How am I supposed to go through a day of camping or something when the battery lasts only 1 hour?

but my momma said
Just give me a Pax with USB charging since portable chargers can be found for such a reasonable price now. I'm guessing it would probably take longer to charge through USB, maybe not, but that would be a trade off I'd be willing to make. Now that I have my ESV I'm really liking the flexible charging options.

Waitin for a convection pax with minimal (required) cleaning. I'd imagine battery time would suffer being convection it would need more power?

I also hate when I'm walking out Of a restaurant and I'm still in the building and I click m mouthpiece and It goes flying, then I try to pick it up all smooth like. Thing about the pax, waitresses like it.....

there is nothing wrong with conduction imo. esp as the Pax is mostly IR ( 60-70% would be my guess), it converse battery power, and works amazing a=espat low temp well, ot's like sipping on a ganja milksake :leaf:

I've grown to love this little computerized herbal apparatus more and more, i must have been hiding under a rock for not buying it sooner; imagine the money i'd saved = MORE Weed!

i carve a packing stirling tool with a piece of wood from home depot, works great, and wont scatch your bowl. i will take a pic of it later... when i get some potato chips . brb

Just thought I'd share my pax and ryot case setup:

The left side portion contains my credit card grinder (fantastic for portability and fine grind consistency with this vape but the bud needs to be quite dry) and that zippered pound which attaches by Velcro. The pouch is lined with a reflective foil and is pretty smellproof.

The right side carries a bunch of baggies for avb, screens, qtips, pipe cleaners, a brush, 91% ISO,
& glycerin in the tubes, and a metal poker/stirrer which came with the case. The Pax sits comfortably on the left side, on top of the plastic bags.

It zips up well without any sense of being overly tight, and there is absolutely no smell which escapes. I'll look up the model on amazon, I forget which case it is, but so far it is a great accessory!

The color is called Diamond. Looks like silver to me.
You need to look at the official e-mail they sent out. The unit looks glorious in their self-shot photos. I was just coming here to post about it myself.

On unrelated news, I brought my Pax to Riot Fest this year (2nd time doing this) and had no troubles. Someone even thought it was a cigarette because of the cloud sizes it was producing. I also noticed a lot more people with pens, e-cigs, and vaporizers this year whereas last year I was in the minority. Power to non-combustion!
