I lost my job 2 mo ago... I used to work 10-12 hrs a day and was really into Sativa for there uplifting effects..

But now I feel like I'm going crazy from Sativa and I cant control my thoughts at time like I'm racing out of controll.

since I am now not working and starting to worry the Sativa has become like take a huge shot of adrelin or something.... Like really freaking me out and not letting me sleep good day after day.

I knew Sativa was racey but lately with out having something to do it has turned me into a worrying lunatic..... I'm done with it for now

The Chem Dogs flowers make extremely anxious the desp says its a Sativa and Leafly says it s Hybrid... But I know it makes me crazy right now .... But the Headband wax also called a hybrid is more mellow...

I think I need a good Indica Dominate Hybrid... like some Girl Scout Cookies.....

Edit - Now I see GSC is Sativa Dom... hmmm I was wrong?

Anybody else feel like pure Sativas were making them crazy

For me both Sativas and indicas tend to reduce anxiety. That said, I've known people who feel a little edgy and out of control with a strong sativa. However, they were mainly inexperienced occasional users with low tolerance to cannabis. Perhaps because you're currently out of work you're vaping a larger quantity per session than usual. Try taking just a few hits and let it set in before using more. Or, maybe switch to a more balanced sativa like Blue Dream which typically is a little more mellow than say Green Crack or Super silver Haze which some people feel is a little too racey. If that doesn't work, there's nothing wrong with sticking with indicas if you find the effects more desirable.

Another thought....have you changed suppliers or dispensaries recently? Sometimes cannabis that hasn't been cured properly and for the right amount of time can cause undesired side effects.

Sorry to hear about your job loss. Hopefully, you'll find an even better job soon. But for now, my advice is...Load some bomb indica, sit back, chillax on the couch and watch a good movie. That's what I'm going to do right fucking now!! I'm going to hit some killer GDP and any anxiety and stress will melt away.

I get anxiety from sativa dominant strains "sometimes".

Sometimes, sativa's are fine for me, but once in a while they'll make me very jittery and anxious. A completely different feeling....one that isn't enjoyable at all.

I don't know if it's my state of mind at the time, a chemical thing, or if I just need to thoroughly roast sativa's to a darker color/higher temp overall. My last trip to the dispensary consisted of mainly indica dominant strains either way.

In my experience, most sativa strains can exacerbate anxiety as opposed to relieve it, but that's me and everyone is different. Indica's do help me relax, but with the added effect of couch lock and a possible nap. More research is needed on my part to find the perfect strain that works for me....but that may be a never ending search as the effects between sessions is always slightly different in one way or another.

Edit: I just wanted to add that exercise works best for anxiety for me. Works wonders.

Yes, Sativas are too much for me, and for lots of folks. Don't worry though, time to check out this thread: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/indica-lovers.13256/

I went and got some MK Ultra and I'm feeling way better today.

I'm experienced and for the last year I been way over indulging with lots of concentrates allays on the sativa side if not pure like diesel and silver haze....

I took your advice and went and got some indica and just vaped till I was chillaxxed

It sounds to me like you should consider some high-CBD strains. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23042808

I though those didn't get you high at all?

Just an idea, maybe it wasn't flushed right?? I've been trying to figure this out myself :) some flowers do that to me real bad.

Maybe it wasn't... Maybe it wasn't flushed.... I don't know? My GF thought I was on meth... This last batch of Chem Dog which is listed on leafly as a Hybrid but I can say it seems like Sativa to me... Really fucking strong Sativa.... It was really good tasty stoney,,, I want to try it again just to make sure it is hurting me.... I'm scared and I have never been scared of any weed .. It smells very chemically, crisp, pine-sol maybe, like a cleaning agent? But this is Chem Dog... its got that diesel in it yeah?

edit........ ok like an idiot I had to prove that this was fucking me up so I Sub'd a fat bowl and 10 min later i feel like shit all anxious.... I'm going to vape some purple indica to calm down again now....

It sounds like your tolerance is defiantly up there a bit. I mean, if you're used to using pure sativa concentrates and now you're getting an overly intense bad high from just sativa flowers; I'm thinking you're current batch of flowers was not flushed properly or it's laced or something IDK..

Is this dispensary or street weed? Either way, I wouldn't use anymore of that shit!!

I see you're a Charger Fan...very cool... I hope they kick ass this season!!

I don't lend too much credence to what leafly or dispensaries say, both are often wrong, and from seed some hybrids could throw out sativa or indica leaning phenos. I just get a gram of what smells good, and go from there. Then in my collection I file stuff under up, neutral, and down. Diesels go in my neutral, generally. Chem's the same.

For instance, I can use a 26-27% thc sativa, and get really relaxed, have the same amount of an indica with only 17% thc, and be peeking out of the windows with my heart beating out of my chest. A lot has to do with set and setting as well, and losing your job can mess that up.

I hope your working situation improves. Enjoy the MK Ultra.

Whoa boy, last night I had two pulls of some haze, had a major whitey (more than just feeling anxious)! First one in over a decade.

I experienced full on tachycardia, heart pounding out my my chest, mania, feeling like I was going to faint, eyes wanting to roll back into my head, chest pain, the works. Still kind of scratching my head as to why... :science: The only thing I can think is maybe I drank too much tea.

Came out of the blue, I was fine, and ten minutes later I started feeling really tired, and whammo! I was planning on a mild experience to watch a movie, so I only took two pulls. Had to watch the movie all over again because when I could pay attention it didn't make any sense. It was Noah, kinda violent movie... Maybe the violence in the movie started it off...

Loaded up some J-1/XJ-13 later that night, and was fine. Gotta get right back on the horse, no? That was the last of the haze in my jar, though... So I couldn't load any more of that again, until I run across more in the future.

Hope your herb has been treating you well.

edit: I try to only vape once a day, so I typically pick what is left in the grinder or for what effect I want. I'm not a big enough baller to vape multiple times a day, unless I am seriously ill.

Unfortunately I'm having a similar experience with sativa. Amnesia Haze & other Haze is all that goes around where I'm from.

I've concluded it has to be some sort of physical effect mainly with the high THC sativa's. My sinuses will begin to close up, and I even find eating a tad more difficult as it feels like its pushing its way down through a smaller tube. This sounds like a sort of allergic reaction to me, which is a pity because I love the rushy head high and the creativity it brings.
My heart rate will increase noticeably which I can monitor with HR monitor which measures HRV (heart-rate variability) as well. My chest starts to feel tight and my HRV drops, indicating that my sympathetic nervous system is heavily in work.
Often I drop to the floor to do pushups and I notice that I actually feel stronger, which would make sense if my sympathetic nervous system was in slight overdrive.

Now what I've also noticed is that for moments I can get rid of this feeling by being fully present in the now such as by doing certain breathing exercises. When I'm outside walking or jogging, the feeling will pretty much go away entirely and I'll get into a more Zen like state. It's mainly when I'm sitting down trying to relax where this at its worst. This tells what I hypothesized for a while, and concluded for certainty after reading up about Wim Hof (The Iceman), that we can manually effect our own nervous system. I'd suggest giving him a Google if anyone is at doubts to whether or not it can be done, but I know it can.

I've started to react like this following an incident where I overdid it earlier in the year with a few unsavory party chemicals. Instead of resting the next day, I did a HUGE bong and went to the cinema and had a full on panic attack. Mentally I seemed fine, my thoughts weren't out of control, but physically my hands and arms started to seize up as blood diverted into my torso, creating a painful bending in my limbs. My hands and nose were ice-cold. It was a scary experience and was definitely the result of me not treating my body right for the few days prior.

So either these sativas are causing a slight allergic reaction now, perhaps in a nervous system memory response to that incident, or there are underlying emotions/issues causing this anxiety. But I absolutely put more weight into the former as I tend to meditate whilst stoned and really enjoy the process of listening to ones thoughts.

Anyway what I've stumbled across lately from measuring my HR and HRV is a website called HeartMath.org. (http://heartmath.org/free-services/) Initially I discovered it trying to improve my athletic ability. Check the free-services part of the website. They go into detail about the state of Coherence, which I've really given heed to lately. They indicate how our emotions & thoughts, our nervous system, and respiration/heart-rate are all linked and in a lot of cases can be improved. They talk about heart-breathing and visualization as a way to relax once you feel any stressful or negative thoughts, nipping them in the bud. Anyone who practices meditation well already knows this I'm sure.

Having being doing this heart-breathing and a lot of intense physical exercise lately, I can actually feel this state of coherence. I can nearly predict my HRV before I measure it (higher the better) just from how I feel.
So lately when I vape some Haze I can actually feel the coherence being disrupted, like the blood/air isn't getting to the right place hence the tightness. I find putting my hands up straight and stretched behind my neck helps resolve this, but I'd like to know for definite why it happens in the first place. Luckily it does not happen with Indicas and I hope to be getting some soon.

Hope I helped someone with this post, once you understand the state of coherence things will be a lot easier. Any anxious feelings, for me anyway, are PURELY derived from that lack of coherence. It makes sense when you think of it, if you're worried about your heart-rate or a tightness in your chest, your thought processes that follow aren't exactly going to be the calmest, most rational form of yourself.

@Detonator ..it sounds like your experiencing anxiety because you've lost your job & certain strains are bringing that anxiety to the surface or magnifying it.

Put the anxiety strains in long term storage and give them another go 6-12 months from now and see if it was the weed or you.

You might want to consider tapering of your consumption for a few weeks to see if that helps with your general anxiety issues.

Feelings of Anxiety are no joke like you say horrible.

If you can...try to reduce the drugs while increasing exercise, walking, running, gardening, house cleaning that kind of thing.

Also look into diaphragmatic breathing ....great tool to have in the box for those stressful times in life.

Amnesia Haze everywhere... = Florida?

Do any of you guys have access to a scope? Curious as to the colors of the trichs. A lot of people pull sativas too early. Long flower times and smaller harvest "windows" make it diffucult to time right.

Ireland! I don't but I might get one, I suspect you may be right. Considering what's in circulation here is grown by underground ops looking for a quick buck...you'd expect them to be growing Indica but nope, sativa everywhere!

Got my hands on Northern Lights a few months back and it was the best weed I had in ages. The guy knew the people who grew it and they've been doing it for years, bit of care really does make the difference.

It seems a lot of people on this thread are having problems with the Haze strains. As an alternative, it may be worth trying a Haze hybrid like Blue Dream. BD is approximately 70% Haze and 30% Blueberry. The Blueberry is a strong indica and it really takes the edge off a pure sativa. Blue dream is uplifting, but very balanced. Not too racy IMO. So, I would think switching from pure sativas to sativa dominant hybrids would be worth a try. Just my 2 cents...

A taste on the tongue
I always find blue cheese quite relaxing.

Try having small vapes a bit at a time it's easy to have more but hard if you freak out from too much.

I'm still having bad anxiety. Indica helps but I can't just be stoned all the time. I went to a free county doctor cause I'm broke and they put me on Zoloft... Its only been 8 days now.... But sometimes i THINK i'M GETTING WORSE....

The Doctor said here take these they might calm you down and help with anxiety or they might make you more racey they could do either? what the fuck.... Now I cant tell if I'm worse or better?

Other in my family members took Prozac with suceess for ther Panic Attacks.

Anyone else deal with this? I was not like this 6 mo ago.... Now I'm hating it

There maybe a reason for your anxiety? You said that you weren't working? I get anxiety and I blow issues up into larger things. It's something I've lived with since a child.

For a time in my early 20s it wasn't so bad.

Some days things don't bother me. But other days I have problems. Here lately I've had a reason for anxiety. I get sick to my stomach and can't sleep, I sweat. I hate it.

I use Indicas, but I don't have problems with the Haze group of cannabis. I use Blue Dream and some other Hybrids.

I do things to get my mind off of it. I try to keep busy. I also try to keep life as simple as possible and still be productive. Not to bring people in my life that's not a positive.

I was kinda a the top of my profession. It was very hard to get a job doing what I did with my salary. That is what started all this anxiety. Now my gf just got a job and should be less worried but I'm not. I should be able to relax look for a job, get stoned and relax but I can't.

Now after 8 days on
Zoloft and wake up felling like I'm rushing on speed, after not much sleep.. I'm glad I got some indica wax cause that calms me down.... I called that clinic and luckily got an appointment for tomorrow... I feel so bad the last couple days I hope they give me something better.

Very hard to sit a concentrate to do even the simple things now..... Sometime feels like I'm going completely fucking crazy.... i hate this

With all the stressful changes going on in your life the Sativa can heighten those anxieties. I prefer an indica for the soothing relaxing qualities. I like to experiment with sativas once in a while but always come back to a good strong OG that is indica dominant.
