I got to test out my my new small SCS 3-piece last night!
I've been using a Space case scout, which is essentially a tiny two piece with integrated stash jar. A bit cumbersome since you have to grind, then dump the ground herb into the jar without spilling any of it. The 3-piece seemed better since the ground herb falls down into the bottom, but I found it too coarse for my liking.
I think if I hold it upside down while grinding, it will keep the bigger pieces from falling through prematurely. Maybe that's what you're supposed to do?
Even the small seems a bit big for me, though. If they decide to make a mini 3-piece, I think that might be better for me.

Maybe, but maybe not. The smaller the grinder the harder it is to grind. I have the mini, and when you combine the lack of grip (on the half with no etching in the metal) with the squarish shaped teeth, it can turn into gridlock, where you just can't turn it if you have a good amount of moist sticky bud loaded. It's the only grinder I've ever had to give up on and take some herb out so I could grind. And leaving the herb out to dry is not something I'll do unless I'm grinding for the Magic Flight and need a really fine grind. For every day grinding I think the small is better than the mini with this brand.
It's certainly a good option if you want a finer grind.

ive said it before, and i'll say it again. my coffee grinder is the best one i've ever used so far. those hand grinders are good to have around for certain times, but nothing beats my braun coffee grinder. 
when i bought it ,i spend the extra 10 bucks on a good one, as the cheap ones gum up and break over time. this one is 10 years running now. still works like a champ!

Hi guys, there are quite a few pages so i don't know if this has been suggested before. I see a lot of aluminum metal grinders for tons of money, but on eBay there are some cheap ass aluminum grinders.

Search on eBay for aluminum grinder, set the filter on Buy it now and sort the items on lowest price + shipping.
I have mine for 6 months now and it is still going strong. I don't have that much money for a fancy grinder ;(
Although the quality is very nice and looks sturdy. Try to avoid the grinder with a metal plate in the grinder to push the herbs out of the grinder. Underneath the metal plate there will be a lot of dust from weed(lol don't know the exact word for this) which causes the plate to become stuck.

Will be ordering my SCS as soon as they reply to my message.. Really hoping they can sweeten the deal to make paying $45 postage semi-worth it! Otherwise I'll have to compromise on my origional colour choice and get it from another site, but I really want a nice purple 3 piece to hit the consumerism spot

Don't feel bad about getting a bargain, or working to a budget. Do what works for you. The stuff going in the grinder is way more important than the grinder itself

@rakaus420, the main issue with the cheap grinders themselves is that they can be more prone to inexact machining, which can result in metallic shavings in your finished product -- so keep an eye out for this.
