Stuff like this just points out to me what a glass neophyte I am. Looking at other MS pieces its fascinating how complicated they can and do get. I was always surrounded by straight bongs or simple beakers. This is very different.

I've seen many cabinets full of art glass, but the idea of a cabinet full of smoking glass takes a little getting used to for a Midwesterner born and raised.

It is odd isn't it! In my world, the idea of a vortex / diffuser tube (whatever the fuck these things are called) is alien. Nothing but low-grade porcelain and pyrex glass bongs for 23 years and then BAM, the world of glass-craftsmanship opens up and it's overwhelming.

Mothership is the business! But they also know it and price accordingly. You aren't going to find any of their pieces for under 4 figures. Hell, even those swing bucket nails are a couple of hundred dollars.

That's sort of why I'm interested to see how CGD is going to price these things.

They start at $800 depending on size.

While I'm sure they're very hard to make, that's still way too rich for my blood...

I guess when mothership is charging $1k+ more than Corey it makes Corey affordable, but I honestly couldn't consider any $800 piece affordable.

I know, absolutely ridiculous... but really, when someone is talking about dropping $800+ for a piece, likely pricing is not as great a factor when compared to form and function. If someone is going to spend $800+ on a pipe, surely ya got a bit more in the bank;)

uhhh hi. money means nothing to me to be honest, at least in sums of a couple k. But I still will nonsensically be like, deal deal, early early, saving saving. As someone with no immediate disposable income loss, i'd gladly take 800 on a new artist with an increasing quality of work ( seeing no immediate change in learning curve of advancements) compared to an established quality where they have ( subjectively if your talking about industry) plateau'd in terms of something with a greater monetary return.... just think about the marginal increase in price of piece over time from CGD to MS.

but i don't think about glass from a stock point of view, so it's kinda irrelevant. i'll grab a almost msISH for 800 rather then 2400 every day :D gogogo discount glass in a temporary relative sense so you can justify blowing money !

So true, I used to do that, not anymore.
But there's a glassblower I do regret not buying more glass when it was available/affordable, and that is AK/Sarah.

Jr. Has a slyme one going up for bid shortly. I think it's the nicest so far. None has sold for under $1k tho. IIRC the last one went for 1450.

Better purchase than MS IMO. Jr's quality has been going through the roof. I remember talking to him about recyclers when I decided on my OGC one and his old interviews and shit. Talented guy.
edit: With a MS torus costs something like 1500 used, and an egg probably like 1.6-2.2 depending on size. Getting ridiculous in the MS camp. My buddy had a MS mini back when they were ~575 and sold it, they aren't exactly anything special, just solid build quality... and bases, don't forget about their 2" bases.
double edit: gotta admit the MS ball rig is probably in the top 3 rigs I've hit in preference though

I'm not being disrespectful to Mr. Corey. I really wish he wouldn't price those eggs so high. I'd buy one for $500 or less I don't think the Mothership pieces should be over $600. If these pieces are going to priced at ridiculous prices I'd prefer I be the only one with one. A truly one of kind piece. I don't care if some rich guy offers you a ridiculous price because money isn't an object to him. I'll have to agree with Ataxian on this CANNABIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL!!!. These pieces just compliment it. To each his own. I've spent countless on pieces and some are expensive. I just think some prices if they aren't Heady are a tad extreme. Now you all just got to read my rant. It was founded on the fact I love the Mothership Egg. I want one.:cry: As a Father of 3 kids a Husband and owner of a Dog, I can't justify to myself spending $2000 on a piece of glass any of 5 individuals (not including myself) could break at anytime. I could buy it but sooner or later I'd have buyers remorse. It'd have to create Cannabis for me not to.

Amen brother. Having received my $250 CGD rig, I love it. But is it true love, or a superficial sensory love? :lol: I think we know the answer. Would I spent $250 on a rig again? Maybe somewhere down the road, but at the moment the Cheap & affordable glass thread is what I will be into for the next few years :)
$2000 on glass is just... You have to really fucking love glass on a deeper level to fork that over.. Fuucck

By worked up I mean that there is an excitement brewing in this thread over fab eggs. And also talk of their pricing

I don't think a single person in here didn't get a bit worked up inside upon the sight of that earl Jr. It is breathtaking and the roughly 1400 auction price is a steal compared to MS

Edit: and notice how no one rudely told @tennstrong that there was a earl jr thread. All non Cory glass mentioned in this thread is done with a comparative purpose so there is no need to give people grief

2k for clear glass is just ridiculous. I love the way they hit but the fab egg technique is already becoming easy for most people haha you're paying for the name. Its weird how that kind of think has happened in this counter culture, kind of like an oxymoron
