I am using an omicron light for now . i don't have a dry herb vape at the moment .
And I only Smoke/vape Indica .
I have smoked up until I go to bed for years and usually it works for me .
I don't think I have insomnia . I just can get comfortable because of pain in my back and neck .
So I vape an switch over an hr before bed . Just wondering if vaping the flower will make me sleepy .
Guess I just have to try .

My honest opinion is that pen vapes just don't do it for me the way a nail hit does. I would recommend and inexpensive rig, nail, and torch. See what your concentrates can really do.

As far as the difference between vaping flower and burning it. I believe that the inhalation of carcinogens is what makes one more tired when combustion occurs. I do recommend vaping Indica strains at high temperatures for help with sleeping overall. Not only would it help if you had insomnia, but obviously the Indica strains will naturally help with your aches and pains. They help especially at higher temperatures.

So far I am ok with how the vape is doing , gives me a little more relief but leaves me more clean headed.
But I am not opposed to trying something else.

As far as vaping flower ,I am considering what vape to get and saving my money .

Fun~ I am all with Deadshort, in that as nice as your pen might be, nothing will knock your socks off like a nail; even for the seasoned herbalist.

I find that one hit on the nail is more effective than several bowls of flowers vaped....and is incomparable to the nominal effect a pen gives me.

About a year ago, I got some of those tar fliters to use on my spliffs. The stuff it caught was NASTY. But what really got my attention was when a friend used the tar filter on a normal cig. It only caught about 1/5th the goopy stuff. My spliffs were about 0.5 grams with equal part tobacco and a king size filter. Being 1/2 the size of a cigarette but creating enough garbage for the tar filter to catch more goop was the hint I needed to find a better way.

That being said, I miss the ritual of rolling, the powerful but not not unpleasent smell, and the virtually no effort cleanup.

Doobie Snacks?
I am using a FlashVape since a couple of weeks now. I never really liked smoking in particular. But I iike to smoke bowls sometimes, they seem to never get me stoned too much.
Rolling me some doobie snacks is completely different. 3 or 4 hard hits of a pure weed joint can make me super high.
Whereas vaporizing the same amount is more enjoyable.
Is it possible that combustion just gives you a "dirty" high, burning the materials might cause some by- products to fuck with your high and causes sleepiness and other symptoms like elevated heart-rates?

Well, if you consider potential carcinogens like benzene and arsenic dirty, yes, you can get plenty of that when you smoke, but none of them when you vaporize. You might also be responding to the instant blast of everything--toxins and THC--that you get when you combust, compared to the more gradual activation of THC during vaporization. To me smoking tastes like ass, so I am probably never going to do it again. But everyone is different. A lot of the time I use a vaporizer not to get blazed, per se, but because of how good it tastes. I never did that with smoking

Power outage last night. Sat in the dark with my lighter (shudder) Man what a difference 6 months makes. I started vaping in Feb. Haven't looked back. Forced to use my trusty one hitter I almost puked from the burnt taste.
I lived with my wife for 46 years and she was champion cigarette smoker and I never, ever noticed smell. She passed a year and half ago and one of her buddies stopped over to say hi. She smoked 2 or 3 and we both left house. Upon return I couldn't believe stench. I wonder what sort of stinky cloud I have been leaving behind for years.
Vaping Rocks!

May I suggest looking into a Lotus Vaporizer? Awesome flame powered vape.

A taste on the tongue
I hadn't combusted for 7 weeks including a 14 day abstinence (not through choice) last week I took 2 pre rolls out and they tasted really horrid got me wrecked due to reduced tolerance and a few hours later I had to go to sleep when I got home.

So yes it's horrid and makes you tired.

Funny thing is some bubble hash I have I'm smoking that in a small glass pipe and it's not rough at all. It's very light brown and smells a bit like baby sick.

So... I've went from a HEAVY smoker of mainly hash/tobacco spliffs, and around 8 months ago I switched to vaping and edibles. The edible high is my favourite high, but it is just to heavy for everyday life. I enjoy vaping a lot. It brings out the subtleties in the different materials I'm using, and of course the temp control is amazing.

I took two pulls of a spliff that I rolled for a friend a couple of months back. One of my favourite strains taste wise, blended with a small amount of organic tobacco in RAW papers. Didn't feel like it! Oh my LAWD that shit tasted like... shit. It felt like meeting an old lover and realizing that she's not really your type, but you were a bit fucked back then so you fell for her.

I'm almost a bit ashamed, because it's easy to come across a bit arrogant when you constantly turn down free canna from people who just wanna be nice to you, but hey, people roll mid grade morrocan hash in red Rizzla papers with nasty Luckies, so... I guess I'll just have to be a bit of a snob haha. I usually blame it on health issues, which is partially true, but I sincerely do not enjoy combustion anymore. And to be honest I was a spliff snob before so maybe it's just natural for me to be a vapor snob haha

I'm truly commited to never smoking again. It is just not for me anymore. My body rejects it, and it makes me ill.

This got me thinking. What lighter based vapes do you guys recommend? I need a back up who doesn't rely on electricity.

Cheap, small and effective. Somethings for when the power goes, when I go camping, go on a holliday and can't be bothered with charging all the time.

I know I'm sacrificing relatively precise temp control and all, but that's okay. All I wan't is vapor!

The Lotus is not stealthy but easy and very effective.

The hammer is butane internal ignition as is the iolite.

Thank you :)

I'm really looking for a vape that can be used with a regular lighter.

You don't need a lighter for the iolite or hammer. You do need a jet flame lighter and high quality butane for the lotud

The only one I know you can use with a regular lighter with is the Vapor Genie. I would personally recommend the Lotus. It offers fantastic vapor with a cheap gas station torch lighter. I've had nothing but good experiences and most of the people I know who own a Lotus love it.

Not my own experience, but my buddy owned a Hammer and despised it because he said he could taste butane. It may have just been faulty, but I had no interest in owning one after he told me that.

So the price difference between a Lotus and a VG is it definitely worth it?

Sorry for the silly question, but it will only be used as a back up and when electricity is not an option, and that ain't that often. But then again, I might be willing to pay for better vapor quality with a flame operated device if it is really noticeable. I really have tried finding qualified opinions on this, but most of those discussions go haywire. Who knew a vaporization method that could give you 200% THC could be so controversial

These butane vaporizers do not appeal to me. I feel like I might as well just use a lighter.

Anyone care to convince me otherwise?

I'm always inclined to listen to good arguments :)

I was really hesitant to try the lotus at first because I didn't think a vape using a torch would work that great. Just didn't see the point. But after all the great reviews I decided to give it a shot. And wow it's amazing and has took over as my daily driver getting used probably 80% of the time. Also gave never used a vg but after comparing the two it was a no brainer to go for the lotus.

From my very limited experience with the VG, I wasn't a fan. The technique for getting quality vapor was too much of a hassle. The Lotus is a breeze and produces amazing vapor. The best argument I can give is that when the power goes out do you want to get frustrated or stoned? The VG may cause frustration while the Lotus will get you stoned.

I was pulling good hits from the VG classic right away, all i did was follow the written instructions. Didn't find much of a learning curve, the hardest part for me was knowing when the bowl was done(it was my first vape and first vaping experience after 42 yrs of smoking bowls).

There ya go. Each person is going to have their likes and dislikes for each and every vape out there. Your best bet is to try everything you can to make your decision.
