Mine finally arrived and within 10 minutes I have to say WOW. Can't attest to the durability yet but this thing is TINY, and works exactly as advertised. Believe the hype.

Thanks MF!!!!!

Nice, this is all very reassuring guys. I was trying to judge by the size of the trench when i saw it at the Toronto expo, seemed like it would be about 2-3 elbows on the extreme, filled to the top of the trench. Im so excited waiting for the launch boxes to get here. Definately gunna rip it until i get it figured out, may even have to go on a little fishing excursion when it gets here. I figure I will have to get the C9000 charger and the MAHA 2700s sooner or later, but should be able to make due one a few batteries for now.

When it gets here is it good to go right out of the box, or is there any packing oils or anything that need to be burnt off?

Edit: How long does it take the current stock charger to charge the stock batteries? Hard to find things searching this thread sometimes because its so huge, comes up witl tons of miss hits.

It is good to go right out of the box.....batts will probably have a charge. I was well medicated about 10 minutes after opening the package. I was actually blown away by how medicated it got me as I have a high tolerance also (I am 6'4'' about 230 and been medicating for 25+ years.) I am about 4 or 5 months into my LB and am just noticing a dip in the batteries (I rotate 4) so I ordered up the C9000 and 4 Maha 2700's.......figure the charger will bring more life back to the original batts and I will have back up batts for future use. I just started using a wireless mouse and keyboard so I will keep that charger busy :D

the thing that sucks about the stock option in general is that you have to charge 2 batteries at once....can't charge them single.

so you can never have a back up. Do you just have 2 batteries coming?

If anything just make sure you have 4 batts so you can always have 2 ready to go.

The charger I just got with my MFLB (new gen with rubber seals) from Vaporizers.ca charges each battery individually. I dont see any model number mentioned on it, it's branded by MF with two green LEDs above the battery slots. I used it for a few days until my C9000 arrived and went through 40 hours of breaking in the maha 2700's. I found the stock batteries did over a trench each. With the stock batteries, whenever i switched batteries I set the other to charge. No downtime! ;)

For folks who dont want to splurge on the high end C9000, look into the other chargers in the line, they'd do a similarly good job, just without the crazy amount of information display. The C9000 is perfect for controlling every aspect of charging and knowing exactly what state your batteries are in.

Hey Mr. Smoke No More, I have good news for you! I had nothing better to do this aft so I thought I'd check out your estimate that a trench would be 2-3 elbows on the Extreme.

I grind much finer for the LB than for the Extreme, and I used LB grind for this test. That means a slightly higher weight for the same volume, but I don't think the difference matters much. I filled an elbow to the top, packed firmly enough to stay put. Frankly I thought the stuff was too dry and fine to stay in the elbow, but I guess it's got enough sticky goodies to make it work. I was also a bit surprised at how big an elbow screen is. Still, I could tell right away that your estimate (2-3) was way off. Sure enough when I dumped everything into the LB trench it nearly filled it, coming up to just below the shoulder.

So, unless you pack your elbows really loose and only fill them about halfway, I'd say a trench and an elbow hold about the same amount. Having said that, I am already on record as getting 12-15 hits from a trench. I don't usually do elbows, but the few times I have I thought I got about six hits from one, maybe eight at most. That would be in the 160-190 range on a v3. As always, experiences will differ.

By the way, not to stray off topic but why did you go to puffitup? I guess it's a bit late to bring this up, but vaporizers.ca is a great company in my experience, no borders to cross, and your goods usually arrive the day after they've shipped.

Just saw this posted on vapeworld.com's website...

"MagicFlight strongly advices against using Radio Shack brand batteries. As well as using the batteries included with the MagicFlight Launch Box in a Radio Shack brand charger. This is because alkaline and other battery chemistries are not compatiable with the MagicFlight Launch Box or they will not last long."

I bought a set of rechargeable batteries from Radioshack. The battery chemistries are the same. Is this some sort of marketing BS, or did I really just waste my money? I plan on getting a new charger but keeping these batteries, as they are all 2500mAh which isn't so bad as far as power goes...

appa juice: That's not quite correct. magicflight has said that Radio Shack chargers should be avoided. See:

http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?pid=34460#p34460

The Radio Shack batteries themselves should be usable as long as they are NiMH and peeled, but they are said to be mediocre. I have never used them myself. Keep in mind that the rating printed on the battery can be drastically far from correct.

Hey everybody just wanted too let everyone know that I got my MFLB in on Saturday and wow!

It's awesome just make the purchase.

Just got it on puffitup.com for only $84.15 free shipping. Ordered it on Thursday and got it on Saturday afternoon! with discount code.

Puffitup has all the new models in too, they just received these directly from Magic Flight, and shipped the new features, including the new o ring, and battery stopper. (dont think those are the right names, but i'm a newbie!)

After doing research this is the cheapest place too get them, they even send you a free grinder and some spearmint herbs. nice little freebie!

So I'm new too the MFLB, and did tons of research on it, it's defiantly a great buy.

I'll post some pics about it!

Then again, that post was more than two years ago. In that time Radioshack's house brand batteries, which were previously bought from many brands and resold as their own, have been completely taken over by Rayovac. I think the batteries are okay, I just need to get a la crosse or maha charger.
