FIrefly should really look into bringing a concentrate pad or something like that from to their store- I have been dabbing with the firefly for the past few days and I get huge clouds out of my dabs-

My friend and I tried it for the first time few days- then we had to go and meet friends- we were totally quiet in the car ride then we turned to eachother- Damn, dabbing this wax really got us good.

I really need to try the herbalizer pads- Ive been using a rolled up screen as my pad- I try to keep the wax from seeping down the bottom plate - It becomes sticky and needs to be cleaned soon.. It still delivers great hits - maybe 4-5 good clouds then 1-2 wispy ones before my dab sessions over..

A friend of mine is a rig/nail guy and he tried the ff with the Herbalizer concentrate pads. Ff should be all over this yesterday! It fits perfectly and works very well. I just soak the pads in ISO and have noticed zero leak.

Personally I think the firefly is too large for me, I don't think it is very discrete either

I agree and why I opt for the PAX for on the go and FF around the house. The battery life is unbelievably short-even with 2 batteries and an external charger. The thing just dies and goes red. A warning indicator might make better sense, IMO.

Great Scott!
2 batteries would get me 8 bowls.

I don't finish 4 bowls in under 45 minutes for sure, so with the external charger I'd be golden indefinitely, but I have 2 batteries and a car charger. I rarely bust out the car charger, and I literally never take the 2nd battery with me, I just wanted it before I had the car charger option for a long day or something.

I've always said that while the pax can be a bit frustrating to use and maintain, for stealth it's still the top choice. Although the elevape sv seems to be making some inroads in this respect, and the upcoming zenhopper could be a real game-changer.

Strangely I can finish off a fully stuffed bowl in about 6-8 hits total!

Now I gotta check out the elevape sv! Is the ZenHopper the Grasshopper? I ordered that like a year ago! Gave up anticipation. (Funny enough in between posts my Kreyos smart watch I backed arrived after what felt like a year ago.)

Yes the grasshopper used to be the zenpen, so I have combined the names :freak:

Haha, no worries. Yeah, I ordered that thing and frankly I feel a bit disillusioned by all crowd sourcing. The anticipation is not worth a $50 savings, IMO. Kinda feel robbed. I've backed around 6 different projetcs and I have yet to be thrilled with ANY of them. :-(

I still dig my firefly and don't have a huge need for stealth, so I was never very concerned about the timing of this project. Kind of like when I supported the evoke, I just want to see a great product come out of it.

Have been reading this topic for weeks now. Since my buddy introduced me to the vape experience ..he has a PAX. Long time smoker here trying to jump to the healthy path of vaporizing. I think I am pretty much sold on this device. Great information here from day one I think I am ready to jump into the FF family instead of the PAX. Any recommendations? advice? Should I order from FF itself or VaporWorld? Will the stock in FF will be fresher more upgraded batches than VaporWorld? Im just ready to pull the trigger.... my biggest problem right now is... what color to pick :o .. I love the black .. is my favorite color.. but the Red.. the Red is screaming get me.. ... I'm so undecided what ya guys think?

Highly appreciated

Great community you guys have here.

Yeah, I hear ya bromie. I probably would have re-supported the Grasshopper, cuz I'm sucker for stealthy vapes, but everything else has been fairly disappointing. While it took forever, I do like the Pebble watch. Can't say the same for the the other products I supported.

Incidentally the PAX mouthpiece has another issue so it's back for repair again so I am relying solely on the FF. My technique feels solid and I'm digging it enough but if I could only choose one portable vape it would still be the PAX. The FF to me is a very close second for sure.

I think it depends on your needs. If stealth is not an issue then by all means RED RULES! The thing is like a cherry red vintage sports car! When you rev the engine the light matches the sexy body!

Welcome to the fun! I would order direct from FF...their service is insanely good. Like, so good, you won't believe their speed of communication or willingness to make you a happy customer, and keep you happy. As for color, red is pretty bright and unstealthy. I have the silver and the red, and I would likely not use the red if I need some stealth. All three colors look gorgeous in person.

I am so with you. I cannot really get more than one bowl from a full charge, but that is around 20 plus hits, and I lean on the button prettyh hard sometimes...

Well here I am, I've been following this thread for MONTHS! my first vape was a Flowermate, purchased about a month ago. Before that only edibles. in my 30s but such a youngin' when it comes to weed!

Anyways I was lucky enough to get a sweet craigslist deal on a slightly used dark grey model. SO HAPPY to join the club! Thanks all for posting your experiences they were incredibly helpful. Now I'm off to hit my first draw of s nice chunky hand torn Plushberry. Ahh, it's so good to be alive. Cheers!

I think I'm going to use my FF with whole nugs only from now on.

I don't know if the clouds are as big without grinding and maybe it's a little less efficient, but any negatives are canceled out by the fact that the mess level goes from "annoying" to "zero." Loading and unloading becomes a breeze. There's very little fuss. Worth it IMO.

It makes this unit more of a true portable when you take the mess out of the equation. I don't have to walk on eggshells while taking a hit for fear of ABV getting stuck to the lid. Seems like the unit will require less OCD-like cleanings too.

Also, I crushed up a nug after I was done, and the resulting ABV was pretty darn even and similar in appearance to my typical ground nug ABV. I was surprised by that.

I like using wholes because of the extra flavor, and because I've grown to really hate grinding. I just want to get to it, not sit there and grind.

No more grinding for me!
Found the same thing to be true and preferable (I'll slightly tear to really load up the bowl. I'm getting way more flavor then ever before with virtually zero window and channel debris. It naturally breaks down and with a stir here and there this method is grand!

Once again I have to beat the dead horse of "how great is FF service?" But beat I will.

I returned my second (Red) FF to them because, since I've owned it (late March), it's always seemed to run a bit coolish, and require a lot more work to get full extraction than my Silver. They were kind enough to send me a FedEx label, so it was painless and free. They got it yesterday and immediately checked it out. I was told there was a fine residue of white ash on the coil, likely causing it to fail to heat all the way.

Two things I found interesting...1. Shelby said they can't repair it, so they're sending me a new FF...(isn't it odd that the coil can't just be replaced?)...and 2. this kind of ash buildup is consistent with using concentrates (and she reminded me the FF shouldn't be used with concentrates).

I was quick to reassure Shelby that I didn't use concentrates, in part because that would void the warranty, and mostly because I don't use them, wouldn't know how, and wouldn't know where to get them. It's just not something in my repetoire. But I really didn't want FF thinking I had voided the warranty through misuse. (But weird, right? Because the residue may have been there the whole time, since it's always underperformed since day one.)

Anyway, I certainly can't complain about their stellar service, or getting a new FF which should be arriving end of week. On one hand it's not a great track record that I've purchased two but will have owned FIVE since December once the new Red arrives, and on the other hand their amazing service goes a long way to mitigate any problems. Seems like nothing can replace great service and fast responses.

I'll report back once the new one arrives. The FF adventure continues...
