Discontinued The Herbalizer

c76man

In search of the best terps and smoothest vapor
Also I use concentrates a good bit how does theherbie handle these and is the efficiency there ? Not trying to sound like a broken record here haha
For me, using the concentrate pads with wax has been much more efficient than dabbing. Rather than one lung buster, I get multiple hits and equivalent effects with less material.

Is this what everyone's looks like? See how there is a little piece if metal missing? It's not a full even ring. Are all of yours the same or is mine defective and chipped a bit or something?

I think your metal plate has slid a little bit, Just slide it back if you want. It will work fine like that either way.

It has the appearance of a metal "washer" that made it through quality control.... that was not fully in the round. It seems to be machined with a portion shaved off one side, like the very last cut of a die press.

It actually looks like the plastic is covering it a bit .. Like someone said a few posts back

Should I request a replacement unit ?

I am forced to disagree.
I am looking at your images now with magnification.
Please take a look at the areas that are circled, and you will see that the plastic does not appear to overlap.
Indeed the metal appears to overlap the plastic.
(And... yes.. You should have a perfect flawless unit, and the Herbalizer Team will see to it that you are satisfied)

Its also very annoying that my whip tubing does not always like to stay connected properly into the bowl.
On my herbie I just give the connector a gentle twist as I'm inserting it, and viola! it's secured.

So I'm thinking about purchasing a herbie. The hefty price makes me uneasy and I want to be sure before buying. I currently own the Evo and I love big cloudy thick delicious tasting clouds while at the same time.conserving herb. Also have the Enano which is probably where conserving material came from. Anyways could a member maybe post a video displaying how thick of clouds the herbie is capable of making ? Could .1 do this ? Thanks eveRhone in advance the herbie looks very intriguing.
Herbie is definitely capable of producing huge clouds,
but that's not its forte' like it is for heavy-hitters like the evo, sublimator, and infinity :2c:

I agree, it looks like an issue with the plastic and not the washer to me. Is that plastic that appears to be overlapping the washer part of the top mold? Or can it be pushed back inside Herbie?? If the washer was cut incorrectly, we should be seeing other "stuff" like I did when my washer came loose.

Looking at this, I would think performance would be severely impacted if your bowl has a gap sitting on top of the plastic - allowing outside air between the heat source and the bottom of the bowl. Does your bowl sit flat/flush or is it slightly tilted at an angle

the fan assist with the whip is a breeze and takes no effort. I'm now using thicker tubing with a wider path and the pull is fantastic. I prefer it to using it with glass because the pull is so effortless. I am now honking on it as hard as I want with the thicker tubing and getting a full hit faster than any other vape I have ever used. I can start and finish a session with Herbie and cache a full bowl in about six to ten hits (depending on the strain) and be done with it in less than a couple of minutes from start to finish. I have been running everything through water for years until now, since I love this bigger tubing. I hope that helps!

I constantly take as big hits as I can mainly because I love huge hits, and I also vape at night for bedtime. I'm very athletic and swim often meaning I can take hits up to 45 seconds. I tend to only vape on 445F.

The fact is you can get MONSTER clouds with this thing as well as hitting one bowl forever.
  • Shorter tube hooked up to glass
  • Place both aroma pads on top of a 3/4 full bowl(try hald and full as well)
  • Turn on the fan and enjoy!
Combine this with a few other tips I've seen in here (including crumbling up the abv and proceeding to vape) and I can honestly cloud out my room. With a bowl I do allow the bowl to heat up a bit before I go for those big hits (1min with 30 second of fan warming it all up). This can produce harsh vapor when heading towards the end of a bowl but you will get big clouds. The pads on top of the bowl tend to create a much darker abv similar to my DDave's method EQ bowl.

I've also used the aromatherapy pads on top of the herbs with the smaller whip with much success as well. Mind you I don't like taking dry hits at 445F but it works.

Also try micro amounts at 445F you'll get very dark ABV. Sprinkle the screen and watch it go!

In regards to the bag I've been using the same bag for over a month and don't really have any complaints. Honestly it's a cheap plastic bag with a mouth piece attached what is everyone expecting? Especially since only one company has seem to have gotten the mouthpiece right. Bags are a simple concept that don't hold up well to wear and tear. I still use them but I usually hit my bong :)

Hope this helps some people find the cloudy goodness they are looking for as this unit is VERY capable!!

It is not suppossed to be "connected'.
It is meant to just lightly sit in there.

The bud needs to be of high quality to get thick vapor... and also, it must be primed first.
360º won't give huge clouds until you get the load going.
A couple of hits at 400, then try lowering it to 360º for thicker vapor at lower temps...
or else just be patient and do a number of hits to get your herb really cranking!

I will certainly heed your advice and try priming with a higher temp first.

In Alaska, while we are a medical state, there are no dispensaries, so I'm not sure exactly what strains or quality I am getting. I'm still relatively new to marijuana, and vaping in general, so I probably don't have a good eye yet for determining quality.

Back to the whip tubing; I find that if I just let my whip tubing lightly sit atop the herb chamber I get very wispy, almost non-existent hits, and the tubing becomes dislodged far too easily. This morning when I vaped before bed I became frustrated with it popping off with the smallest of movements and so experimented with using my left had to hold the whip tubing securely to the herbalizer and using my right hand to hold the whip. When I did this I found that I got clouds that were much more comparable to what I would expect. To me that indicates that there may be something wonky with my whip tubing connection, although I don't see anything that looks out of sorts.

On my herbie I just give the connector a gentle twist as I'm inserting it, and viola! it's secured.

I was trying your method this morning, and I wasn't able to get it secured real well. I still find that minor movement partially dislodges my connector, which interferes with the vapor path.

I may have to explore an alternate solution such as using a small cut of slightly wider tubing in between the herb chamber bowl and the whip tubing connector, or try to find a small silicone o-ring to place on the connector...I'm not sure.

I would love in the future for herbie to release a bowl and whip connection that connected with magnets like their herb chamber does atop the heater. I think that would allow for a very stable connection that could rotate freely.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what diameter tubing I should look into to secure atop my herb chamber? I think perhaps I've seen some posts in the past, so I will go back and re-read this thread some to see if I can uncover it.

Thanks folks, happy vaping.

You might have an idea for addressing the leaking bag problem - a magnetic attachment?

If the Herbalizer goes on Mass drop again I might seriously consider getting one after reading through most of this thread. I love my EVO but would also love instant and precise temperature control. The thing I love about the EVO is that I can load up 5 or 6 ELB's early and just vape through them over a night very quickly and efficiently. I just have to turn my EVO on with a WeMo before heading upstairs and she is ready. I have a very efficient process for using ELB's, dumping, cleaning, repeat. After 16 ELB's I pull my glass jar of ABV and dump everything at once with a couple min of my time to dump and scrape. It is annoying to have to keep opening the ABV jar between hits.

How does the Herbalizer fare when vaping for a night with that bowel? Everyone's pics of Herbie looks like their is always some ABV residue on their devices. I hate things being dirty so that would bother me. I worry about how much effort to dump and keep that residue at bay. I know that seems like a silly thing to be concerned about but I like it clean and want the whole process to take very little of my time. I've got it down to a science with the EVO (reclaim included) and am trying to think through how the herbalizer can be just that more convenient for me. I'm curious to hear people processes.

@John Lewus I find it very easy to keep my unit looking like new. I carefully brush the bowl out after each session and that's it. I've wiped down the unit itself a couple times and soaked the bowl/whip connector pieces in ISO a few times as well. It's very low maintenance. I'm actually surprised by the amount of ABV I see in the photos posted in this thread.

@virtualpurple If you're unable to get a secure connection with the whip, there may be something wrong. I have absolutely zero issues on that front. Just firmly press the whip connector piece into the bowl and it should lock into place.

Maintenance is very easy, open, dump abv and brush. every month or so iso bash for everybody. Like new again, repeat.

For hitting method, you can let a load rest in the bowl but better unload it to me.

Another mod i made is a wooden stand of few cm to let the downside on device with a wide funnel of fresh air to intake. it seems to improve the airflow for sure. May be ill cut special pads for herbie soon.

herbie is still a champ here.

For the process: throw few spoons, a rock of H on the top. few hits for heating (water+first tasties). open to stir. hit, disconnect the bowl, tapping on the knee to unmash upper screen, reconnect hit. repeat 20+ times depending on your temperature playing.

So Josh asked me to reach out to people here that might be interested in doing a video testimonial on using the Herbalizer, especially the medical users.

If you are a medical user, and you don't mind sharing a video, there is an instruction sheet here: http://herbalizer.com/Herbie_Tumblr_instructions.pdf

I think the overall idea is to set up a tumblr that has video testimonials that are tagged by aliment, so as to help others that share the same aliment. Someone new to vaporization or MMJ could visit the Tumblr, sort on their condition, and get advice from people that are already very well versed (The FC Community) in their respective treatments.

The tumblr can be found here: http://herbieheads.tumblr.com There is already some content there, but the notion is funnel a lot more information that is relevant to medical users.

If you have a Tumblr account, or don't mind setting one up, please use step 2 in the instructions PDF. If you would still like to contribute, but cannot set up a Tumblr account, then step 1 (from your desktop) or step 3 (from your smartphone) can be used instead.

Additionally, for those that participate, Josh is asking for feedback on the instruction sheet: Is it easy to follow? Can it be made more simple? Corrections needed?

Thanks in advance for any participation. If you have questions, PM me, and I'll try to get you answers.

Does anyone have a second bowel? I am thinking I would always want one ready to use at all times pre-filled if I got a Herbalizer. If that massdrop happens it is going to be hard to resist.
