hey guys do they sell large 3 piece scs, the website only has small in stock. can anyone with the 3 piece let me know the measurements.. please and thank you
4 piece large and 2 pice large have both 62mm, so I assume that 3 piece is also 62mm - ~2.4 inches.

I am waiting for delivery on a SCS 3 piece. Currently it is only available in small---supposed to be about 2" diameter. SCS has indicated it will expand to other sizes but no estimate on when that will happen.
For me, that 2" size is the sweet spot as I grind very little at one time.

Apart from hitting up PV and/or Aus Vapes for a 3-piece, you could ask SCS for a freebie to send with your 3 piece to make up for the postage cost. I emailed them to let them know that I would have liked a small rasta 4-piece but that I would have to just buy a black one from PV if there was no cheaper shipping option. They said that their shipping charge was fixed due to the shipping company they use, but that they would be happy to throw in a small 2-piece for free to make up for the shipping. I've seen several customers from Europe etc. reporting the same deal from SCS. Not sure if they would make the same deal with the 3-piece as it's worth $12 less than the 4-piece. Perhaps they might offer a free mini 2-piece with the purchase of a small 3-piece.

I guess that might not do the trick if it is about the overall cost rather than the value for you. I reckon having a 2-piece to throw in your pocket would be a nice addition though.

I never did make an order from them but I'm up for a 3-piece in the not too distant future. I wouldn't mind splitting the postage with you if you were keen, but I suppose that once you have to repackage one of the grinders and resend it within Oz, we could be close to were we started in shipping charges anyway.
Where abouts in Aus? I'm in Geelong, so if you are in melbourne or somewhere close I could drop it off. Good thinking but yeah we'll work out if it's worth it for the money we gain to save :)
There's so many great grinders out there, and new ones are coming out all the time. I decided to poke around amazon for 3-piece grinders, and while they don't have scs's, I found a very interesting one.

If you click the link, they also come in silver and blue. The design seems to be well thought out, with the upper lip on the inside to prevent residue buildup, aggressive "shredder-like" teeth, a nice rounded herb storage chamber, and of course the teardrop shape for those of us that are grip-challenged. I also like the placement of the magnet on the outside to not only line the teardrop up properly, but also to eliminate that middle area magnet that squashes instead of shredding the herb. The colored models are $49, and the silver one is $10 less so I would think it's not anodized like the colored models just polished aluminum.

All it needs is a little Certified Organic logo on it and it's a gem! That is a sweet design.

I agree. I would be buying a small even if it was offered in other sizes.

I'm the type who will get a Q or half-ounce and chop it all at once to store in a nice jar and scoop out what I need for convenience. Does this degrade the quality or reduce it's life expectancy? And do you think a large would still be overkill or would a medium do the trick? (In regards to a 3 piece SCS)

Thanks for any answers. This thread is very helpful

For a job like that I'd use a large or even a jumbo. Of course I feel that pregrinding such a large amount isn't ideal for keeping the actives intact.

I thought that may be the case.. Not sure why it would not keep actives intact other than that its too good to be true to have it already mulled up and ready to go :(

How quick do you consume that q to 1/2?
My understanding is that if its for a few days to a week you're fine, but longer than that is starting to get into the zone where you're guaranteeing there's gonna be some kind of degradation of your herb.

Actives degrade with contact with air/sunlight - chopped up = more surface area = more contact with air/sunlight.

Slowly. Very slowly. Lot of back and forth thoughts when it comes to me buying something, I have had a bad past of just jumping into things so now I ask a lot of questions! Glad people here know their shit!
Getting a fking small sized 3 piece and that'll do me for my vaping frequency for a lifetime.

I have a small 1" cosmic grinder that I love. It crushes pretty much everything I need for a personal session.

I have a 3 piece chromium crusher that I don't even use anymore since I got the cosmic.

Got my roommate a purple 3 piece cosmic and it's been nothing but great.

I see you were looking at a Sharpstone with the crank, and decided not to get it. I agree about the crank version, but I will tell you that I have a cleartop 2 piece push clean Sharpstone and it's a great grinder. So if your local headshop has Sharpstone, just stay away from the crank and they are great (to save on shipping if you can get one local).

Unfortunately the variety consisted of novelty grinders, knockoffs and ONE sharp stone grinder :( I did have a feel I the teeth though. Wow. Sharp and tough as nails. Without the crank I would have purchased it in aHeartbeat

Look what the Fedex guy just brought me!:D

Thanks to all the great posts here I chose the orange SCS 3 piece!
I can't wait to test it out tonight

I am usually not a fan of orange but, wow, that is sweet.
I have a 3 piece in gun metal grey heading my way.
Anybody have pics of that color?
Pls do a grind report. I just ground some today with my current
Broncos logo grinder and had to "finish" the grind with a small pair
of scissors :(

I'm in Qld. I'm guessing it would cost about $10 to post within Oz, so probably not worth it, especially if SCS is offering a free 2-piece in sympathy for high shipping charges. Let me know if you try with SCS and they knock you back on the freebie though. Would be worth splitting the shipping in that case.
