Found something that might work! i'll prolly pick a set of these myself when i get my EVO through MD.

Does anyone know the difference between the quartz and regular VXN's? Is it the strength of the glass?

The funny thing is that I only used my VXN's for a small period. My dude still has no concentrate HAHAHAHHAA. It's been over a month. Oh well LOL :-)

Durability for sure.

They say you take a redhot glass nail (presumably still boro) and throw it on a bucket of water. It shatters.
Then you take a redhot quartz nail and throw it in a bucket of water. Stays intact.

I guess that's the best comparison I've ever heard, from a glassblower on FC.

My glass VXN lasted months, it didn't break because of dropping it in the EVO or knocking it with a hydrtube, it broke because it slipped and fell in the sink.

If only I had just used a plastic bag like I had always done lol, but my point is the glass VXN is already strong enough to last forever with proper care.

Quartz (like crystal wine glasses) is twice the price because it's clearer and sparklier. But I bet if you slip and drop it a few inches onto a hard sink basin it will still shatter :2c:

Also, glass has a Mohs hardess of 5.5, quartz is 7... I would think the last thing you want to do is expose your soft glass bamboo or hydratube to an impact with hard quartz. But maybe I have that backwards and the hard, brittle quartz would be the one to shatter first? We need :science:

Why not borosilicate/pyrex glass, isn't that the strongest?

So I come back from my second week of adult-acoustic-guitar camp (simply Heaven) and cranked up the ol' EVO. I load an ELB amongst a covey of clean ones. I grab a good hit, and I remove the ELB so's not to cook my herb between hits. I put the ELB back in, and suddenly, vapor production has stopped. I crank it up to three and wait 'til green: still no vapor production.

Well, I'm concerned. My EVO, my Life. I'm checking connections, viewing green, I start to frown. I begin calculating: 4 business days UPS Ground to PA: 4 business days home: 2 days to process? Some sad minutes pass.

But then it dawns on me: is there anything in the ELB? No, There isn't. I have been sucking on an empty ELB. Yeah, I went to college: I have an amazing grasp for the obvious....

Crisis averted.

Thanks for the info, guys! A few clarifications... because I was just a leeeeeetle medicated when I wrote that review lol.

First, I'm realizing that some of what I thought was scuff marks on the case actually appears to be detailing. I think it's supposed to look like clouds of vapor or something. Can anyone confirm this?

Second, I realized the *thunk* isn’t from inside the unit. It has something to do with the power cable shifting. When I unplug the cable, or hold it firm when inverting, there's no movement.

Third, I didn't order from Vapexhale (I got mine from Vapor Nation) so I didn't get the sleeve. But based on the smell complaint, I probably wouldn't use it anyway. I did, however, get the wristbands.

So, I took seek’s suggestion to place them around the dial. Worked like a charm!

Don't feel bad...wait until you panic because nothing is happening no matter what temp and how hard you pull...only to notice the full, ready to go, ELB sitting right in front of you and not actually in the EVO...:doh:

Recyclo-Tube 2.0. Notice the "hook" has been raised up quite a bit. You'd have to do something crazy to get water down into the joint at this point. Also, the vortex chamber has been reworked as well.

I believe at this point its pretty much perfect. Some people had emailed me asking if a slow draw would vortex this guy.

Yes. It will. Mrs PoopMachine will be assisting with a video tonight.

As beautiful as your HT is, @PoopMachine , a clumsy person such as myself, would shatter that in a New-York-minute. It only took me 5 days or so to break a Swagger Puck, and it was a straight tube w/o external vapor pathways. Good on ya for being a careful individ'l.

Ive been lucky.. I still have my original Vertigo HT that came with my Cloud. The only piece of glass Ive ever broken was my Mobius. I dropped a glass pick on the base from about 4 inches and the base broke in half. Thats actually how I met my glass blowing buddy. I needed someone to fix it and someone recommended him to me.

My friend just tried the EVO for the first time, and was able to produce much much darker ABV than me using the same material and temp setting. He hits it much slower at first. He really liked the flavor and massive rips. Did 4 ELBs, each with diff strain was all done for the night. Left super glossy eyed.

This is a VERY valuable post IMO, and sums up why some people are getting darker ABV than others. It's not always "cool running EVOs", just technique.

Interesting... I've experimented with a few different temperature settings and inhalation techniques. I get fat rips pretty consistently, but the flavor still isn't as robust as my old whip-and-cannon setup. Any tips on how to increase flavor specifically?

Then it's most likely due to the power cable plug. Quite a few users have been frustrated with the stock cable female not mating well with the unit's male receptacle. Try a cable from another piece of equipment, like a TV or monitor or printer or PC; that should reveal if the stock cable is the problem. Cables like this only cost a few bucks.

Maybe . . . less diffusion, lower temp, slower/longer draw, smaller load. :science:

Im shipping for him so if youre willing to pay, Ill ship it. Im going to rebuild his PC for him this week and then hopefully I can get him set up here and he can do his own shipping but in the meantime, Ive been shipping his stuff for him.

What is the drag like? Sounds like the pull is pretty easy. (Looks fantastic, but I'm totally new to recyclers.)

Got my order for two vapexnails yesterday ..aww yeah :rockon:
I never took great care of my first one and I wanted to see what you guys thought about the cleaning process. Soaking it in pbw seems to do the trick but it never gets all the oil residue above the smile off. I have a skilletool I use to scrape however that only gets so much off. I tried using q tips ,in that scenario the cotton gets stuck to the nail. I can live with it for the time being until my OCD gets outta control. What to do what to do
Edit:turned my evo on 10min ago and now what appears to be vapor is coming out the gong without an ELB or nail inserted.:huh:
