ooooo is this true of all double tops?

i still have a functional one. I was hoping I could send it in and purchase a warranty when the final version is done, but that sounds fun too
I'm not sure but it is easy enough to test with the core. Just lower the voltage and let 'er rip. Just be sure that your Herc is assembled correctly. The double top will NOT like shorted carts. Play it safe and check it with a meter before trying it out.

I've been lurking the w9 tech homepage all week, when the 80 option is selected it lowers the price. I assumed it was a bundle discount. It does look odd but the mobile site had been going through pretty regular updates lately (and is definitely an improvement I feel)

im still trying to find out if my hammer top is mis-firing or if its my core

sometimes when I go to press the button I get nothing no power my core is on but my button wont glow
I have to unplug it some way either the bottom of the persei or unscrew the head and re screw it back on or unplug the power cords and plug them back in

it was doing this every 1/50 times now it seems like it does it 1/10 times this is really annoying to be showing someone my awesome vape pen "but wait sometimes it doesn't turn on you just have to unplug it really quick??" is anyone having this problem whats causing it

should I submit a ticket ... don't know if its the core or the insert or the head ?

I don't see how to start a Ticket on W9's site anymore. Am I missing something obvious?

I'm on the fence about ordering hammer top + core + herc. Also the 3.7 rod, I hear it's more beginner friendly. I'm totally fine with all the hardware, looked at pdfs and read stuff on fc. My only concern is with how I can use the wax with it. I've been looking through the forums, but I wanted to ask before I pull the trigger.

Could I put in around .5, take a couple hits, put it aside (maybe even for a day or two), take a couple hits, wait hours/days, take a couple hits and so on until it's dry? Or do I need to just make sure to keep adding enough to keep the coils saturated and enough to actually vaporize? I do 1 bb with a kiss cart and I'm good, 2 for fun time. Usually .5 lasts me 20+ sessions. I use an herbalAire with a bubbler as my daily driver and I'm wondering how to fit this into my life because I really, really want it. Is the herc too much machine for me?

@StormyPinkness -- The setup -- you speak of is perfect …

no need to re-prime the coil unless you clean it ---

you take a few hits --- then cool it down and leave it horizontal till u ready again -- then u pick it up - press the button & follow all over again until the hits stop ….

then you just add a drop more -----

then u run out ---

remove a lil from the reclaim and it keeps u good 4 another 2 days :)

Do you have a Persei already? Otherwise, from what I saw shipping last, that combo will work, but I believe only the insert is guaranteed with the core - the stainless steel tube that has been shipping with it is a damned nice convenience that allows me to leave multiple setups ready to go AND my Persei seperate.

I don't think that piece is guaranteed to accompany it forever unless UPtech would consider endorsing that combo... A home/tailgating combo that rips hard, while leaving the Persei itself as the option to make it truly portable?

There's some marketing ploys with the availability of that tube (and the shorty insert that current comes with the small SS kit tube minus bottom as well).

I've currently got two coils in my SR-74, loaded about 3/4 gram total and has been going for a couple weeks using it for when I don't have something else available. Maybe a session a day, maybe more, and I'm always getting something after 10 secs if not sooner and I do believe my AW's may be growing a bit tired, seems much more consistent on the Core (which dialing DOWN, not UP seems to be the key to flavor, just might take a few secs longer to make the same size cloud since you can maintain the same temp window with a slower draw). This thing reminds me of the Bender a lot...

I've had mixed success using the older carts in this manner, but as I learn the SR-74, it really seems to have delivered... I just now need to figure out when it wants more, as once it's all melted into the coil there's no gas gauge (I've previously been leaving wads on the top of the coils which eventually melted down and I put more in then, which with backreading sounds like too much, but I've not had a drop leak into the bottom yet.... the screen? different story, but wary of pulling it until I calm down with the draws).

Big clouds haven't really seemed a necessary goal for me to achieve so far. I know they're there as I grow to appreciate the power driving the device, but I allow it only to get as far as I want without seemingly too much waste, but it gets me there much quicker than anything short of dabbing! If you want to get stupid with it, just be warned that the stupid will likely set in 7-10 minutes after you started being stupid ;)

Thank you @invisiblefriend and @TommydCat for convincing me (didn't need much convincing it turned out). Ordered that plus a tester and the sr-74x upgrade because why not.

That sounds perfect, having it around ready to hit. I love my herbalAire, but vaporizing with it is kind of a 10 minute thing. I'm very happy with my omicron lite and kiss carts for my portable. I have a minicron too since it was just a little smaller and such a good price. I want this to be more of a desktop unit next to my herbalAire. I'll eventually get some bubblers and try to get the okeanos to justify buying this over using my omicron lite. I'm already significantly over my budget....trying not to think about it. I know I won't care once it gets here. Thank god it gets here almost next day with the cheapest shipping option. Wish I could pick it up, I live an hour from where it ships from.

I'm curious how refilling is going to work. I know you put in some to saturate the coils, and the more to vaporize. I thought about .5 total, use it until there's no more vapor or it's super weak, then put in .5 more until it's done 2 grams then clean it?

the best thing thing i can recommend for loading the herc is to get the 74X upgrade I wish I did sooner @StormyPinkness 15 dollars really will make your life easier

it really isn't to hard to load the herc I like to use a dabber and break off a piece of my oil that will fit down the tube obviously its better to do three or four scoops into the tube rather then trying to load one big .5 glob I like to open my herc and check down the tube and I reload when I see no visible oil and I can see my coil I still leave the coil saturated

I just recently received the SR-74 that does not have the SR-74x upgraded parts, which are a separate kit for $15. Three weeks now, I think? Perhaps something changed after..

I believe that UPTech would list the SR-74x as a different SKU for a whole unit to avoid confusion, as the SR-74 was released instead of confusing the SR-71.

However if you don't have a threaded top, this is questionable!!

Or, perhaps it will just remain an upgrade? (And second chamber for someone with a second rod and a few spare parts -- $15 a whack + coils to carry around a variety of flavors? Much more expensive than the carts, but these are proven tanks - just wonder how to store them in a leak-proof manner? Doob-tube or similar? Or perhaps this is just crazy talk and I need to get on with life after I close parenthesis to end this inside thought).

@THC SCIENTIFIC - Ordered Jul 7 with a shorty core insert, probably a bit before the dithering about the threaded caps really came up (admittedly I was mostly AWOL from FC for a while around that time).

I'm hitting a comfort zone with it now, and looking at that SR-74x upgrade more as a way to carry around some more flavors at a time (with the same investment in coils as well). I don't see what I currently have to stop working for any reason..?

I love the thought of having a spare tank I wish we could purchase the retaining nut since that's about all they don't sell to build another sr74

we started shipping out sr74x around mid July, and you would need to purchase two sr74x upgrades to have true interchangeability since the 74x stainless tubes do not work with the 74.

I don't think we are talking about splitting the tank in twos and swapping just the top chamber at least what I would like to do is just purchase another rod AAF washer Coils and the retaining nut and build an entire new set up and just swap it in and out of my heat shield @THC SCIENTIFIC

I will then have two herc tubes one with a threaded cap and one non threaded
as of right now my 74 tubes I just cleaned and put right back in my Hercules box it would be cool if I can run one 3.7 and one 7.4 at the easy of just screwing in the tank

I was just gonna swap, but don't mind that limitation.. $15 is a steal for.. forever ;)

I wouldn't want to slide the sticky dirty rod out and shove it into completely different oil it makes no sense then have to swap the washer and retaining nut if they just sell the retaining nut this eliminates all problems

besides I am a complete OCD freak I wear rubber gloves when I assemble or take apart my tank I don't want greasy hand oils everywhere
this is the oil I run in my herc

Oh, completely agreed, which is one of the few reasons I still have a "library of flavor" in the older cart system I still haven't shaken off completely. Despite their limitations, they are completely self-contained, store well and I have quite a few that are still producing, but frankly can't fill the same flavor profile I'm getting with the SR-74.

I'll likely wind up eventually going with 2-3 full kits and just upgrade this one. The threaded cap, if nothing else, is teaching me the wisdom of leaving it the hell alone until it's done ;)

The 74x does not come with the bottom assembly plate as that's needed to have a fully working Herc. That's why only way is swap out top part.

I understand that but half the time I would go to unscrew the cap off my 74 the bottom chamber would unscrew anyways exposing the gold pin in the Teflon and bottom plate you are speaking of

so we can use the one we already have I only plan on hitting one at a time any ways
the spare tank is for different flavors and backup you can have two tanks loaded and go camping or something

so im just saying how easy it would be to have the two stainless tubes assembled with coils washer rod and retaining nut I will swap these while using the same gold pins and bottom plate those can stay in place this is possible if you sold the retaining nut alone @THC SCIENTIFIC
