No So Cal here I'm in the north east baby lol IMO everyplace has the whole range from bad to fucking amazing you just gotta find it or grow it lol but my buddy hasn't done me wrong in 5 years and counting. He grows for one of the three mmj shops here. I do not have a card because it does me no good because my work goes by federal guidelines and I'm not comfortable knowing my name is out there on some type of list. But thankfully I still get the quality

Where did ya find 10 micron screens? I usually wind up using 25 micron from my local shop but I'd love a pack of finer mesh.

I folded the 6x6" screen into a bowl shape for my KX run.

A lil' dab will do ya
Hi all,
Been following this post since the Youtube vid from KX is not available. I did email them and they said they are working on a new video that includes new stuff they have learned.

So I did a 10 min wash with a almost a cup of dried flowers. Strained it thru a 25 mesh bubble bag I have and left it in a pyrex pie plate overnite.

Now comes the dumb questions: What is the easiest way to get it out of the pyrex? And then what do I do with what I have? Do most people smoke it on a nail, vaporize it, ingest it as is?

I do have a pic but I'm having a bit of an issue figuring out how to add it.

Thanks, S

if you didnt line the dish with parchment/ptfe/silicone then you will need a razor blade to scrape it out. if you did line it then you should be able to use the "fold n peel" method to get it out.

as for using it... use it how you like. dab it, use an ecig RDA and build a coil to dab it. you can top bowls and smoke it (yuck!) if you like. as for eating it... you wanna decarb it first.

Thanks 2clicker! I only watched the vid once and I forgot about them lining it with parchment. That would have made it easier.

I was trying to avoid smoking it hence the visit the FC forums. I probably should have asked what was the cheapest way to enjoy it. When I start reading about quartz and titanium nails and stuff my wallet looks emptier than it is. How about a vape pen unit that is designed for oils? Is that a good place to start? Or is the nail and dome better to get started with?

I like the Blues logo BTW. Thought they might get it done this last season but Miller didn't return to old form.

EBay quartz domeless nails are almost as good as the $100+ ones in function. 3 for like $20 shipped. The concentrate is worth more than a quartz nail :)

i would recommend a pen yes. im not a fan of the traditional dab setup personally. i prefer to use an RDA with ceramic wick/coil. if you dont wanna make your own coils the premade stuff is a nice option although mor expensive. but a torch and nail may be for you. its not for me.

about my avatar... thanks! i originally did the same logo, but instead of a razor it was a screen printing squeegee. and one day it hit me that it sort of resembled a blade after some scraping. anyway here is the NHL thread.

I do use pens as well. The thermovape cera is the best portable oil I've ever hit, but its $$$$.

I also enjoy the vaped nano on ruvaped.com its ti coil and wickless. It actually has been an incredible purchase for the $60 I paid to my local headshop.

Thanks to everybody who helped answer my noob questions.

For NickDlow, what would be the advantages to vacuum purging vs. simple evaporation? And similarly, what advantages would there be in heating up the pyrex plate slightly vs. just at room temps evaporation?

To answer your second question...adding a small amount of heat greatly reduces evaporation times...that is it. But, you must keep a close eye on the temperature of your solution...do not let it get above 105*F lest you start losing some aspects of the entire range of goodies that you pull from your source material.
Vacuum I will defer to the peeps that actually have a vacuum as I don't.

What is this fold and peel method you speak of @2clicker

its basically folding the blob of oil/liner in half like paper. then you rip the sides apart and the oil will only stay stuck to one side. then repeat until you have it all in one manageable chunk.

with limited time to reply here thats the best i can describe it right now. im sure there are videos of this somewhere. ill look tonight and post it up if i find one.

EDIT* so i looked quickly and there were no videos of this which surprises me. so i will attempt to explain it a different way.

say you are staring at a 10"x10" sheet of sliksheet. of which has 2g of shatter on it untouched from its now evaporated state. the bulk of your return is in the middle (i would hope) of this sheet (could also be parchment). so because of that we want to fold this sheet down the middle. this will also fold two layers of oil onto themselves just like the sheet itself. i like to smash them together a bit to really get them to stick to each other. so now the oil is basically half the diameter it was, but twice as thick. from there you quickly separate the two sides. this will leave most if not all of the return on one side. you have successfully performed the "fold and peel". just keep doing that until you have it down to a size you like to work with. after doing it a couple of times its pretty easy.

a couple of tips for this if you are having trouble.

1. fold slow and peel fast. dont get crazy with the peel or you could toss your return across the room. nice controlled quick peel and youre golden.

2. if the oil gets warm enough it wont peel as well and may get stringy. if this happens just fold again and place it in the freezer for 30 secs or so. then peel. it will come right off.

hope that helps! i know someone around here doing a run soon could shoot a quick video...?

Ah, nevermind. I thought this was a way to get a dab off of the parchment, not consolidate it back onto the paper.

well its more for obtaining your return from a freshly evapped run. instead of scraping with a razor. much cleaner and efficient.

i dont use parchment anymore. i LOVE the ptfe sliksheet stuff. nothing sticks to it.

I too use Slicksheets, as per your suggestions weeks ago.
