They don't fit as snug as the ones that come with the LB

but I ended up preferring them more as I like their loose fit and they last longer.

I got 4 of the 2700 and the c9000

and VERY pleased with it.... :)

Make sure you shop around for cheapest price. It can vary greatly.

I got the 4 - 2700 and the c9000 shipped for $51 on newegg. But that was me shopping around and watching the price for a week.

Hard to say, on my old LB my maha 2700's fit real snug, but on my friends unit which is very recent the 2700's are loose. So MF must be changing the hole diameter slightly when they change to a different stock battery, first they came with Tenergy's when I bought mine, then Eneloops and now MF says they switched to maha Imedion.

The maha 2700's have a great punch to them but need to be used the same day they came off the charger for best results. The 2700's last noticeably longer and get the box hotter faster than the stock batteries.

The maha c9000 is the MACK!, get it even to charge / condition / break in the stock batteries. I see Imedions now come in 2400 mAh which might be a perfect balance between the stock 2100 mAh and the 2700 mAh and since they are Imedions they might fit perfect too.

If you get the Imedion 2400's let us know how they fit.

@Magic Flight:
Which of the following batteries are recommended for perfect fit on the most recent version of the MFLB.can you rate them 1,2,3 .... 1 being best fit and 3 worst.

Maha 2700mah
Imedion 2400mah
Eneloop 2000mah

The powerex 2700 are excellent with the 8 cell 1 hour charger, i don't know what id do without it. And they fit fine to me, i kinda adjusted the copper coil so it would be tighter. Theres nothing better until they come out with rechargable lithium ion double a's. Or urine powered double as....:p

Audiodelic i would worry less about how they fit and more about how long they last, the self discharge rate, or how much power they produce because you can always make the fit snugger or looser.

That is the first real home made innovation I've seen, great idea but to hard to flip and shake for me. Great work though.
Thanks! It's not too bad taking it off. Here is an off/on/shake example with a fig jam jar water filtration system :p - the button is pushed for four seconds for a normal MagicFlight-esque experience - or 7 seconds for a thicker fog.

what a great idea, it's like a little magic flight launch box docking station!

and your jam jar brings back fond memories of all the bongs I've built out of spice jars, baby food jars etc.

going to have to build me one of those!

I can actually answer this one since I have them all- they all fit the same, snug in my MF. I think though that there may be slight variances in the boxes because of the positioning of the wire. So, as NSX posted, purchase the ones you want based on power and discharge rates you prefer.

For me, I got the C9000 charger that came with 4 Maha Powerex 2700's, and also purchased the Imedions from Thomas Dist, and had 4 Eneloops from my initial MF purchase.

I do cycle them all- the 2700's since they are hi-discharge, get used when I first charge them, or when I'm going to a party as I can use two for the entire night with me, my husband, and several friends hitting the box. I notice I get more uses out of them, as they are 2700 mAh that makes sense. The Eneloops & Imedions are back ups for when the others poop out either from use, or non-use after sitting for a week or so. When I get down to using the Eneloops, I charge the whole bunch up.

I love the C9000 charger btw, after whatever alkaline AA's or AAA's we have in the house die, they are being replaced by lo-SD rechargeables..

MF - Any word on the AC adapters? I remember the time frame of late July being thrown out, just wondering if they are in the near future.

I spoke with Thomas Distributing and was told the attack issues were resolved yesterday. Happy shopping.
I was just on the site w ni probs at all...except deciding which batteries/charger to get lol

According to Canada Post my LB shipped to Mississauga yesterday. Should have it Monday or Tuesday :D

Has anyone tried the 2400 mAh Imedions? Conjecturing out of my ass of course but on the face of it they look like they might be a nice compromise between lsd batteries and the Powerex 2700 mAhs.

The Imedions are lsd batteries, they compare to Eneloops, I don't notice a whole lot of diff, maybe lasting a for a few more hits.

For anyone new to the MagicFlight, who found this forum while searching - here is some simple overview information about how the Magicflight works. People who have one will be like, duh! :p

First, the MagicFlight works as the result of shorting a battery. You can do this yourself with a screen and some wire - but making the real MagicFlight took years of hard work and experimentation - and high cost equipment to get everything just right.

howsitwork.gif

You push the battery into the battery hole. Inside is the positive and negative leads just waiting to be shorted. If the battery's positive end touches the back of its hole, the short is made and the screen, wires and battery heat up.

MagicFlight chose just the right materials to make the screen, metal rods and battery get hot in a safe but powerful way. Search this forum for information on how long to keep it in.

Haha I like that, a docking station! I hope someone makes a cool one soon! I made a version with a different wood, a small one - but the switch flew across the garage when I pulled it out to change something - I spent hours on my hands and knees looking for that switch (in red wood shaving dust) - but it was gone. I thought "I can get a new switch." but I was already defeated. So now I will add wheels and participate in an adult pinewood derby (if they exist) - also my camera only takes blurry pictures as of... 4 minutes ago! I was cleaning the lense though while it was on :ko:

Update: I took another picture and it works. Here is the inside of the docking station without wires, the battery, the magicFight or the SWITCH - since the switch is gone! You can see the back right corner where I tried to burn it because I was so pissed about not finding the switch anywhere :p

Got a question. I've had my mflb for about a month now and love the thing. I occasionally I add a little kief to my herb and was wondering if I can vape any other concentrates in my mflb?

I'm tired of answering that question. It's probably asked every other page in this thread and I'm pretty sure there are threads about hash and the launch box. R E A D suckaa

Some types of hash work. Oil would not work.

Actually, I've been experimenting with BHO in my box and it works quite well with no residue or anything left behind. The hits are harsh, but they work really well. No sign of my screen gumming up after about 10 dabs on the same part of the screen, each weighing about .02

But yeah, what bluntfaced said.

This is interesting, thanks for sharing. So after a few (?) hits the screen just looks empty? Have you tried it with several oils or just one batch?
I would assume the 'purer' the oil the better.. I wish I knew this when I had some budder :p

Also, maybe it's time for a FAQ section for the MFLB? Many questions repeat themselves, like what's the best battery/charger, concentrates in the Box, number of hits/trenches per battery, cleaning methods, drawing techniques etc..

I would be happy to host something like that if it is okay with MagicFlight - Just a place for everyone to post videos pictures and more specific topics - Or a simple page with FAQs, Techniques and Common Errors

Edit: I have a domain I've been putting MagicFlight tips on but it would need work http://www.flightskool.info/
