I just got my nano today and I noticed that my dial starts at 10 and not 0. Is it supposed to be like that?

I was just told today that you can pop it off and set it right. I would contact epicvape before I tried it though.

Don't think it should be like that. IIRC there are a couple posts about this all the way back on page 296. Could be a tough search, though.

After a late night session of 'research and delvoplement' /E-Nano demos, I got kinda inspired and came up with a few t-shirt/hat/sticker ideas for Epic-swag.
Don't want to derail this thread, so just 'like' if you would be interested in any of these for stickers/hats/t-shirt swag.
'Make everyday epic.'
'Vape for life.'
'Combustion, you can live without it.'

So, Nano-Nation, dial your E-Nano up, Get your creative on, and email me with any font/graphic ideas for these and future swag. Andy@epicvape.com
Maybe we can do a poll/contest? Open to any ideas.

I just realized I commented on @Caligula s post not yours yesterday. I have 1 done and will do at least 1 more maybe a few since I have a number of ruff doodles done up already. you just want them pm'ed to you here? I upload to instagram usually so I could just tag you there too.

all this stairing at and drawing nano doodles had me like "I wish I had one to use now, damn" anyway I can pm them all to you when im done.

back to the thread, vape on.

Bloody hell this thread moves fast. Good to see this amazing wee product go from strength to strength. And a true sign of a quality product IMO is that there are no flashy adverts with celebs(a la vapir) yet more and more people are hearing about it and buying. I'm kinda glad I got mine just before it got so popular. It truly is a great wee vape and now I've done the dry stem thing to death it's away to be paired with a water piece for bedroom sessions. So I'm gonna get the DO20 from sunshine store so is it an 18 mm adjustabowl I need? And I may be imagining this...... Does the nano GonG fit the solo too?

I just got my nano yesterday. I've been running it at around 7 and can't seem to get big clouds. My screen is pretty close to the heating chamber, but maybe I'm packing it wrong (I pack rather tightly so my flowers don't fall out). Is my unit running cool?

How close is your load to heater? I use 6 normally and my load is never further than 3 to 4 mm from the heater and I also pack tightly. Are you flowers dry?

I use my stem horizontal, vertical, diagonal sometimes even at a jaunty angle and I've never had any issues with herb falling through to the heater core whatsoever.

I get some stuff on the screen but so what? It's not like it combusts or affects anything negatively, and a quick blow and it's gone.

Try packing it not as tight....i never really tamp mine down whatsoever. I find I get the biggest clouds off of the smallest loads!

The weight isn't the issue, it's more a concern over herb falling down onto your heater. If you sandwich your herb between two screens in the GonG before you connect to the nano, you'll be golden.

When I used my Nano with my Fanatic HT from VXL, I held the HT in one hand, then lifted the Nano to meet it. I wouldn't rest the whole weight on it, myself.

I have a video around here somewhere with an HT... the credits list that I used a 14mm Gong from @ACE OF VAPE , plus a 14->18mm adaptor I got from Oregon Glass Blower, as the HT from VXL is an 18.8mm female connection.

If it were me, I'd test it first to see if your concern holds water, so to speak. The Hydrotube is not a lightweight accessory so I think your concern is warranted. Hydrotubes can also be very finicky when it comes to water level, and if you don't have that right or lean it at too much of an angle it can leak - you don't want that.

Wow!!! Looks like your Afzelia burl! And also looks like the Golden Amboyna burl, Big Leaf maple burl, and Golden White Teak also!!!

Way cool vid @Enchantre !!! Nice seeing it again.

@NightTrain it should work fine. IME the little pinnacle jobby isn't worth the hassle, and the nano just loves being inverted (sexy, little, kinky bitch mine is anyway) so am more than happy with bubblers here. But if you've already got one it should do well, just a little tricky to set up without spillage. Best way I found while messing with the pinnacle is... load gong, invert nano onto it, flip the mated set, line up hydratube and go. Really not too bad. But, putting a loaded and un-well-tamped stem/GonG on an upright nano can easily get a bit messy and wasteful.

if your using a hydratube just throw a flat screen on top of the load and it wont go anywhere, then your good to go so the herb doesent touch the actual heater.
Thanks for all the tips and advice, you guys are great!

same thing happen to me, still trying to perfect it.. i think everyone thinks im crazy lol.. still patiently waiting for my replacement gong to be shipped so i can really see how my nano works.. not happy with there support at the moment.. been about 3 weeks now and nothing..

Is it warm to the touch on the outside?
I started out on level 6.5 when I first used the NANO. However in time I creeped up to 7.5 then to 7.0 now back at 6.5 where I started. @lazylathe told me 6.5 was the number. Anyway the flavor at 6.5 with a loosly pack wpa of GSC is flavor country. Plus for those of us with a medical need the effect that this device delivers!

So what level works the best for you?

I'm now convinced my nano runs a bit warmer than some (most?). Anytime I contact the heating element screen I have at least a little bit of combustion. It's pretty rare, but when it happens I pull the nano as soon as I taste it and usually see a few thin wisps of smoke coming off the screen as the offending crumbs burn up. Usually just a very dark spot in top of load, too. I just stir tamp down lightly (to get some head space) and go at it again. By the way... E-Pik is not too bad to tamp a load down a bit, but I usually use a pen cap or small golf pencil.

YES!!! Don't pack it tight. Circulation around your load is key to getting good vapor production. Looser load combined with a few small stirs will allow you to extract more from less.

Practice! The nano is pretty simple, but there is still a bit of a learning curve to pull the big clouds. Gotta crawl before you can walk, and walk before you can run. You could probably figure out most of the finer points over a few months - or just skim this thread for a few hours instead. Also.... not saying your stash isn't up to snuff, but lots of gooey trichs produce more vapor faster.

A few quick cloud tips:
Make sure your stash is pretty dry and do a rough grind
Load small and light - don't jam a bunch in there
Get as close to the heater as you can without touching
Let the nano fully warm up (wood should be warm in your hand)
If you do these 4 things, you shouldn't need your heat up super-high to get clouds
Hit it steady. I usually like slow and steady, but fast and steady works well too. Oscillating your draw seems to mix the heat up somehow and IME doesn't produce as well.

My experience was that my nano seems rans cooler when I got it and now it seems to me it runs hotter, I use level 7 -7.5 for flowers (dark brown abv), 7.5-8 for kief and 9 for shatter.

I don't know how true it is, but I think more you use it better it works!

So never let your nano taking dust!

Interesting stuff... Mine definitely runs on the hotter side. My dial is dead on and I never go above 5.5 for dry.

The variance could be in the outlet and not the unit. I am not an electrical engineer but it is my understanding that you can get minor variances due to the load on the circuit and the length of the wiring. Maybe someone can chime in who has some background in this area.

I think a big culprit is the PWM controller (temp dial). These controllers are very simple in design and don't offer a consistent output from unit to unit. Yes, the condition of the power coming from the outlet plays a big role, but the PWM plays an even bigger role (in my opinion)

The real test would be for someone to purchase a spare cord/controller for their V2 Nano, and test running the same nano on both cords at the same temp setting. (Probably need to give it 15 minutes to acclimate before running the second test to ensure the temperature levels out)
