We are not missing the point
We got your point and ignored it.
I can't speak for others and the reasons they ignored it.
I ignored it because you removed any credibility when you said
Both you and 7th Floor .....you are presenting yourself/them as some kind of authority....kinda laughable really.
What is laughable, is that you find The creator of the SSV, and his company to NOT BE "some kind of authority".
... I do know that it's pretty hard to read @tuk 's latest posts without taking offense.
Agreed.

EDIT:*
The extreme Q basket does the same thing when used with the Extreme Q.
It gives denser hits... even though it actually moves the meds an inch farther away from the heat source (cyclone bowl would normally hold the weed, but we as users developed the "elbow pack".. which gives better hits through compression... NOT proximity to heat.. it is actually farther from heat)
I just spoke with 7th Floor LLC (CREATORS of your SSV)...
They told me less than 5 minutes ago to just show this video....
the BASICS SSV troubleshooting, in which they instruct you to lift the element UP.. yes... RAISE the element to achieve higher temperatures and easier vaping.
(begins at 1:09 on this vid)

The cyclone bowl is huge and wide, and the EQ screen does compress this down to a very fine space. I never liked the EQ elbow pack much, you can see it only directs the heat toward the center of the EQ elbow screen.

But with the SSV it doesn't really change the diameter of the wand that much, at most 1 mm because the "mariah" is slightly bigger than the tip of the wand where the modified EQ elbow screen sits. I still use the same temp when using the VB mini wand, which compresses it even further.

But there is no denying that I do need to use lower temperature when using the SSV EQ screen. While the EQ needs to use a slightly higher temperature than normal when using the Elbow pack method.

Also DDave's 18mm F/F adapter for the EQ makes the distance between the heater and the load shorter and it has become quite the popular mod, so it must make some difference.

Someone has offered to trade me their SSV for my No2, I've been wanting an SSV for a while now so this seems like a good trade to me...Only thing I'm worried about is fakes.

Does anyone know how to make sure a SSV is legit and not fake? For example I know fake pax vapes will have a different screw on the back and the X on the front will be square instead of round.

I've never heard of a fake ssv, or dbv for that matter. Anybody else?
There are some fake lsv's out there, but they're more of a chinese knockoff.

I just pulled the shaft of my dimmer switch completely out....ouch! I was trying to pull my knob off to clean 6 years of dust and residue...long story short ,7th floor is shipping me a new dimmer switch and heating element. I will be replacing both myself, and will be the proud owner of an almost brand new SSV. just a tip to all you fellow surfers...don't pull that knob off unless absolutely necessary!...just my advice.I have already removed my bottom plate and am quite confident in an easy and uncostly repair...hey Vito...can you float me a loaner my friend?.....JK...medicate safely my friends..and lots of love.

My wand looks clean, looks like there's a perfectly clear airpath, but my airflow in my ssv wand has decreased drastically. Does any grime in the pinch part of the wand make that much difference?

Having the screen in correctly makes worlds of difference

As I have definitely learned first hand... i torched my screen clean, rebent it and works like a charm again.

The D022 and SSV is a match made in heaven. It's so good.

I tried torching one of my screens clean once - and it basically disintegrated... :o

Ever since then its been ISO/PBW/replacing screens with new ones for me.

Same here. I used to torch them back in combustion days and it would always discolor the screen and leave carbon residue.

Now I just rotate screens, clean one goes in, dirty one goes in jar of ISO. Once the screen is clean from ISO, it is removed and let to air dry or lit on fire until the ISO burns off.

Nice well written post! Learned some new things about this vape all the time :)

I don't think I've ever used my SSV without finely ground buds. Tonight it will be different.

P.S. what size screens should i buy to replace the ones in the wands? i have damaged mine by roasting the screen to clean it amongst other things.

exactly. dirty screens go into an iso shake, then a thorough water rinse and air dry. If the goal is to clean the screen, this is the most effective means I've found. after a couple cycles, its time for a new screen.

found my answer myself... lol

If you have Standard Glass, Spherical Ground Glass or the Old-Style Ground Glass, you will need the 0.625in/15.8mm screens. If you have the New-Style Ground Glass, you will use the 0.583in/14.8mm screens.
