Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Damn sorry to hear that. I like the HT (have an f bomb for solo)but it's not the right time for me to purchase them ATM.. Just using china bubblers from the other thread. D022 works really well for me and is my favourite to use with most vape because it doesn't diffuse to much where u lose any flavour but enough to take away the dry throat irritation.

A person doesn't need fancy glass to get the desired affects. I've got a couple D020's on order, as I am a very careless man. I'm clumsy: it's as if I were stoned ALL the time....pity me.

I have the 18mm fbomb. For me, its the perfect size for concentrates hits in the EVO. And it is very easy to reclaim condensed concentrates for either vaping once again, or, I add it to my ABV coconut oil for boosted brownies. So much fun, so little time.

You can use it with the cloud with an 18mm F (for the EVO side) to 14 mm M (for the fbomb side) GonG. I think I got that right. Someone will chime in if it's wrong.

Had another successful session with the evo. Still has the slight tick sounds when heating and cooling.. Is this normal for u guys..

for me it is, yes. not every time, but often enough that I notice it from time to time. someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the sound is caused by expansion and contraction of the heater and insulating materials and it is considered normal.

just inspect your bamboo if it worries you. if your experience is like mine, you'll probably stop checking after a little while once you realize it is NOT the sound of your glass cracking.

Dude, i'm so super stoked that PV hooked you up with an EVO you are very happy with! The EVO that I used (from @lazylathe) never once had any sounds of popping or cracking or anything, and I used that thing for a good couple of months I think).

Your original EVO abv on max doesn't look like there is anything wrong with it IMO. Your grind looks chunkier than the other pics, and with the EVO technique really does matter and determines how dark your ABV gets. I started getting that colour ABV on MAX temp, but then when I started to learn the technique and that is was different from Cloud+, I slowed it down, and got the ABV colour I wanted by the length of time I hit the bowl.

Furthermore, I have recently also discovered, as many have already determined specifically in the Herbalizer thread, that ABV colour doesn't mean much. Your original EVO ABV probably was almost all extracted, and i'm starting to notice a pattern of two different kinds of vaporists here....one is a higher temp vapour/smoke hybrid vaper, which I used to be....massive high temp hits, little flavour, and worse on health IMO (DARK ABV), or two a lower temp, purist that wants vapour only (no traces of smoke) and favours taste (light abv). After using the EVO (and Herbie) which are the latest in vaping tech, I now know not to base things on ABV, but rather EFFECT.

Really looking forward to the future of the EVO and VXL. Looks like SM55 has been busy, but I always look forward to and enjoy any updates and information from Monkey Land!

lol i noticed the vaporist preffered pattern aswell. im the type that likes the massive hightemp hits.. i guess coming from combustion 3 months ago, i still crave those hits.. for it being unhealthier, ill try to keep that in mind thank you. how do u know if u are getting half smoke half vapor hybrid? can u taste it like combustion?

Forsure man, I love those massive thick hits as well from time to time, coming from an exclusively bong smoking background. It has taken me nearly a decade of high temp vaping to finally start toning it down a bit, so do what feels right - and you're vaping not combusting, so you are obviously way better off health wise, it's no comparison - even high temp hits. You can't really taste the combustion unless you are VERY close to it...kinda tastes like when the Cloud bamboo is dirty and you get burn kinda tasting vapour.

I think for me personally it's just experience, and no I guess I really can't tell the smoke/vapour hybrid, but i'm not concerned because I just dial it down, unless I specifically want that kinda hit. The EVO rocks because you can get the tasty low temp clouds, or massive bong like Clouds. Such an awesome vape, you are in good hands with it, and with Customer Service from PV, you got it made dude.

I have personally never had a vapor/smoke hybrid. Not really sure I know what you mean by that honestly. Are you talking about just taking a really massive hit, starting at a higher temp? Ya, you'll get some billowing clouds, but that's still not combustion, and no smoke.

If I continually hit the load on max, well past full extraction, I can start to get a semi-burnt taste. It's definitely not combustion yet, but it doesn't taste good at all.

The only time I've combusted was after I broke my bamboo. I tried taking another hit just to see what would happen. BIG MISTAKE! Since the glass was cracked, the heat came pouring in. When it's smoke, trust me, you'll know!

I understand it's not combustion, but it is pyrolysis and I think there is another thread discussing it on the forum as not to derail. In fact i'm pretty sure that SM55 himself even discussed vapour/smoke hybrid in one of his interviews.

Definitely normal I think, that's the case for me.

On that note, I like the EVO so far but does anyone else think the green light is a completely false indicator? It seems like I always need to wait a good 10 minutes going from powered off to proper temperature. If I go by when the light turns green, then it appears much, much cooler than what it gets to when time has passed. I don't even pay attention to the light color at all anymore, and basically just check a clock.

I don't mind that much, but I wonder what the point of the light color even is.
Stonemonkey said the green light is just to indicate when vapor production will start. So technically the green light means it's up to temp enough to start making vapor. It just isn't fully up to the temp you like or are used to yet.

What happened to all the Hydratubes on the VXL store? There used to be a lot more, now there's just 4.

I just want to gaze at the SwaggerPuck is all. :(

TheRamblingSoul,
I believe they take the highly desired one off the website when they are out of stock to stop people from contacting them constantly to find out when they are coming back in stock.

I'm real close to pulling the trigger on the Cloud Evo (it's either this or the Aromed) but I have a few questions.

First, how hot does the ELB get during use? My concern is that, because it's metal, it will be uncomfortable to handle the ELB, remove the cap, and replace the ABV. Do you just have to keep switching ELB's?

Second, to clarify, are the problems with the electronics confined to the international units? I'm particularly concerned about reports the unit can turn on by itself. Has anyone here experienced this?

Thanks!

Almost any decent cord will work IME. I found several around my house that worked just fine. I am currently using one similar to this.

ELBs cool down very quickly and are not a problem to handle at all. There are no problems that I'm aware of with the current domestic units. I've never heard of a unit turning itself on before. Where did you read that?

The ELBs are a little hot but if you need 2 just have them both ready. It's not that hot and you can pop it in. It takes a little time to heat up and your first WT should be one of their hydra tubes but lots of WTs work with it. I'm thinking about buying the solo hoping it's a smaller version of the xhale.

Does anyone have thoughts on that; I want something more portable with a WT but I am pretty attached to my pax.

I have never had any problems with mine but it's just a few months old. It Leays gets hot and always turns green. It is big and a little heavy but it is a beast and it has very little learning curve. Overall it's a pretty awesome unit.

I think he was asking if it was only international units that turned on by themselves. No domestic units have been reported as doing such.

Two things.

1. Sometimes my auto shutoff doesn't change the light which is real tricky cause yesterday my indicator was green and I was hitting it and getting nothing. Dumped the ELB. Still good material, turned EVO on and off and it started heating again. This morning I turned it on and it turned green without even heating. I'm chalking these incidents up to glitches in the matrix.

2. I just came back from a vacation and I brought my E-Nano with me. Man, am I happy to be back to the EVO. There is just nothing like it at all whatsoever. There is something to be said for high density, high intensity vapor coming out of the EVO. Sure I blew clouds with my E-Nano but it required a lot of technique and me f'ing around with the packing style.

Anyhow point being, the EVO is the game changer. I can not live without this thing. I was close to bringing it to vacation but I have no travel case, and my Uncle is a klutz (he dropped his e-nano stem like 5 times while I was there), so it would have ended in disaster.

It's like, holy shit EVO, you rock :-). Also, another thing is my Uncle has his e-nano up way too high so his ABV is black dust (aka he's going too hot). I tried to warn him, but he's having too much fun with the way he does it, and he feels I'm wasting it by putting out dark brown ABV. LOL :-). Sometimes it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. LOL :-)

Before I purchased my Evo my friends Aromed was my favorite vape. I was VERY close to buying one for myself and decided to take a risk with the evo. I can happily say now that I am beyond happy that I did! My friend with the Aromed is even jealous of my Evo and he used to walk around with a big head telling people how nice his vape is.

Bottom line is, Choose the EVO! I love both units, but side by side the Evo out preforms.

Many thanks to everyone who replied! I'm sold on the EVO. Any suggestions on where to buy?

Right now, the best deal I've seen is $359.99 on Vapor Nation with a discount code. Anyone know of any better deals?

Also, are there any warranty issues with buying from Vapor Nation?

PS: Just to clarify, Stu, I was referring to the international model turning on by itself. Specifically, the terrifying report here. I'm pretty diligent about turning my equipment off, but it would be a pain in the booty to have to unplug it every time lol.

yea there is a bit of a learning curve with the e-nano.. im just loving my new evo tho, its so easy to use without any learning curve, just let it heat up, and my replacement evo heats up pretty quick and i can get clouds at 12:00-1:00 now. The EVO is my stay at home vape, nano when there is AC, and SOLO for the roads. the thing with the nano is it can take a beating, and i bring it to my friends for sessions because you can just leave it on and pass it around without having to worrying about anything except them combusting with it. The EVO is too delicate to be passed around IMO, dont want to have to send it back for broken bamboo etc..
thanks to the help from a few members here i was able to tweak my EVO a bit and make the experience better/easier. Replaced the power cord with one that doesnt tend to curl and retain memory, and also got some extreme q parts that i was able to turn into a whip adapter for the EVO just for when i get some VXNs. i also got the extreme q ss bowls or whatever.. was wondering what do u do with it for the double cap method =) or is that method not even worth it anymore.
