Is there something wrong with my Solo or does this happen to everyone. I have a m1a3 model and i usually use it around 4 or 5. When it hits the temp and i start hitting it, the red heat light starts blinking again. Its as if it can never hold its temp. It gets back to temp quickly but i just dont understand why its constantly doing that. Is it supposed to do that? Does me hitting it cool down the unit that much?
Sounds pretty normal. Are you getting good vapor flavor and getting medicated? If you are I wouldn't worry about it.

It's either a newer model, one you can charge and use at the same time. The older models you can't use and charge at the same time. The model #s are repeated so they mean nothing.

Johnny, I get good visible vapor from heat level 3 on. Levels 4 and 5 you will notice increased visible vapor.

Ok that makes a lot of sense! What about if I hit it on 5?
Sure, I can get nice clouds on 5. I've been hanging out at 5 mostly through water lately, I get a nice vape from it and the taste is great. It also has to do with how much you pack, don't forget. You'll get thicker clouds faster from a packed stem because there's more goodies getting vaporized at the same time. Really temperatures are just suggestions, you'll find what you like best as you get to use your Solo more and more.

Yes it's supposed to, you're drawing cold air through it! Think about it: we're using mostly convection vaporization, so the air needs to be hot enough to vaporize the goodies (hot air vaping = convection, hot surface vaping = conduction). As the air goes through the heater, it takes away some of the heat from it to come up to temperature. When the air is getting heated, the heater is losing heat. When the heater is losing heat, your Solo wants to get back up to it. If I draw hard enough, I can drop it a level or two and it'll blink the heater light telling me it's applying heat to compensate for the temp. fluctuations.

Definitely normal. In fact it's the only way it can hope to work. When you hit it you draw out heat, which the heater fires up to replace or the load would cool and vapor production would stop. You'll notice the gas pedal goes down in your car when cruse control hits a hill? Same idea.

If you watch carefully you'll note it will cycle on every 40 seconds or so 'on it's own' due to heat losses even when you don't hit it. Same deal there, too.

Don't worry, enjoy.......

This is normal. As you pull in cool air, the oven cools slightly. So it turns on periodically to compensate and keep an even temp.

Hey guys what are the must have accessories for this vaporizer? How is the high efficiency stem?
Thanks
Stock stems seem to work fine for many people (like me). AFAIK the one "accessory" (ie not in the box) that really makes a huge difference is the quality of the plant material you're vaping. Once you get that right, I'd say the next "accessory" you need is a willingness to experiment with different loading methods and temperatures until you find what works well for you with that particular material. After that's all sorted, feel free to start experimenting with glassware and stems but no fancy accessory is likely to turn ditch weed into high quality vapor IMHO - although if you find one, please let everyone know :)

The best way to find out is to try it - a lot of the fun for us recreational users (IMHO) is trying different variations of packing and temperature to work out what you like best - not even the very smart folk on this forum can tell you that !

Erghhhhh! I gotta stop giving a fuck about getting big clouds and transfer that caring to the effects I'm getting! Why do I care about clouds so much?!?!?!?!?!
It's a hold over from blazing most likely. Your mind learned to associate big clouds with getting off. You actually crave the nasty stuff in smoke for a while, but most quickly (a week or two) break that link. Still the 'I know I'm getting plenty because I see the extra coming out' bit hangs on. Subconsciously you know it's so. Has to be, always has.

Best way I know is to change the focus. Concentrate on the taste. The birds, watching the small amount of vapor drifting off in the wind, sip a bit more, see if the taste changes. Enjoy the day. Don't think about big clouds or even pay much attention to your exhaust. Enjoy the small sips of vapor.......and get hammered when you're not looking for it. Do that a couple of times and your mind will learn big clouds don't always come with getting high.

You have to relax and let it come, you can't force it like choking down bigger and bigger hits.

Regards.

Just bought my second portable vaporizer! I'm upgrading from my mflb after arguing with myself over a few different vaporizers that seemed appealing to me and within my budget. I decided to go with the solo because of all the praise I've seen for it here and other forums. Can't wait for it to arrive on Monday!

Wise words I have owned most portables. All Crapir models, MFLB,even a geniuine pax. None come close to the solo. @thejonny2014 you considered summat more basic? The vaporstar I have never failed( except occasional combustion) or a VaporGenie?

ataxian

PALE BLUE DOT
Ataxian i might be primarily a cloud chaser but the solo allows me to achieve both nirvanas. The flavor is outstanding even on temp 7.
Whatever you like!

I use level 4 the most with water.
I pack my GonG loose and my grind is whatever the space case gives me.
A few turns to break it up is all.

If 7 works for you great.

I cough when I go higher than 4.

I like joints better than vaporizers if I could. (level 10)
Health wise vaporizers are doable!

Find your NIRVANA!

How do you find the Solo for longer sessions with more people? Do you think it is a well suitable portable for group sessions?

Great choice, I bet you love it. Perhaps not as much as when you find out there are really only 4 of us making all those posts......and sharing the commissions from every sale.

Remember to give it a one time 'full charge treatment' (let it run at least 4 hours after the charge light goes solid) if you want maximum possible battery life. To be effective it needs to be the first time. I now it's tough to wait and all, your call. BTW, just kidding about the commission part....... Curse the luck.

Regards.

It will work, sort of, but is far from optimum. Better choices exist for group use. Load size is small and it heats up quickly with 'team efforts'. A much better personal vape IMO. They called it "Solo" not "Gang Vape"?

I successfully used it with 2 other peoples.
We all have a somewhat low tolerance, and a 12-20 minutes session (about 4-5 hits each) was enough for the three of us, giving us a good high while still remaining functional.

Just remember to turn it off manually before the first timeout (say around the tenth minute) then turn it back on, this way it won't timeout when you are taking a hit and it won't have the time to cool down (maybe by a level or two, but it will quickly come back to temperature).

Also I notice in a lot of advice that the main thing with the Solo is to use top shelf bud.
I suppose it is indeed better, but I have great success using cheap lower quality material, so not having access to top shelf isn't a reason not to get a Solo.

I've never tried it. Vaping isn't that big over here in Fraggle Rock. Plus it's expensive over here compared to the states. For group sessions I'd use a volcano or other balloon system. The solo is more of a personal piece of kit. For me anyway. And I've nae mates anyway!!!!! Haha

No mates? just invite us lot, well work through your stash in no time.
but yes SOLO for a reason. Had all my 3 portables going at a party sharing 6 people. They never got a chance to fully heat up and i was constantly loading bullets and stem. really enjoyable to get together with a few like-minded people.

Hey worst egg ever,
Do what I did, brought my solo over to my friends house and showcase it. I showed 4 friends what this unit was capable of in a group setting. That night all 4 went online and purchased their own. We've gone from combustion to vaporizing just like that.

that would be perfect, but some of my friends are pretty stingy so we will see!

Modnote: back to back posts merged.

sorry for double posting, but this seems like the most reasonable place to ask:

the Solo can be used while it's charging, and this is the new model that does that: http://www.puffitup.com/Arizer-Solo-p/arizersoloblack.htm

but in order for that to happen you need to buy an extra charging cable? http://www.puffitup.com/Arizer-Solo-Power-Adapter-p/arizersolopoweradapter.htm

Is that right?

The newer model Solos can be used while charging and you don't need to buy the extra PA. The extra PA was bought with the older model to allow to use it while plugged in.

The older model pre-2014 couldn't be used and charged at the same time.

Have fun getting to know your new addition to vaping.

I know how some people are but they will have buttons to push. Health wise, use of less herbs (save $) etc haha.

My new unit M1Y1 comes with a standard charger only but it has plug in and use feature as well. You just use the regular charger on the new units. The old units require the power adapter to plug and use.

If they are not interested in saving money and living longer (or either of them really?) it's kinda scary to think what their values might be........

Are you sure you wanna hang with guys looking to waste money and pursue bad health? Win them over.

Open box solo came with screens and o rings, thanks again Randy, still killin it!

Did you just get this? I can't find it on the PIU site????

yeah, people always told me the solo blew bigger clouds than the pax. i disagree. i have both and my solo even with the water tool on level 7 blows less than the pax. I also load .2-.3 in the pax and .1 or a little under in the solo. I use my solo when im solo and the pax when im with people or wanna smoke a fat bowl. i love them both though they are my babys
