Im looking to pick up a vape this month and I feel like the solo is the one Ive seen the most recommended but the divinci ascent looks nicer and seems more portable and versatile since it can do oil and wax?

Naw, that should be ".....that can correct your state of mind". Right?
I suggest you use it as shipped. Then you can decide about PVHES and so on. Many rush into it and end up back with what Arizer designed. An exception to that might be if you're breaking stems left and right, in which case you might want to consider Ed's stems.....
Learn to use the Solo, then you can make an educated decision on what might suit you better?

But what about the reclaim? I'll clean it for you.....I don't plan to clean it, makes it look less suspicious when using in public. Looks like a fancy straw at least that's what I think, it's hard to type I just finished a 4th session. -_-

The Solo can also handle oil and wax, either by sandwiching between two layers of flowers (or ABV) or by putting your oil/wax in a cotton ball.

I have both the Ascent and the Solo. They each have their place but I prefer the Solo. The Solo is the sturdier of the two, its more versatile. Both units have wonderful flavor. The herb and wax sandwich work really well using the Solo. Also the wax wrapped in the cotton method too.
If I could only choose one portable vaporizer, I would choose the Solo. Maybe you can save up and eventually have both.
It's good to have more than one vaporizer. Every vaporist needs to have at least 2 units in the line up. You don't want to get forced into having to combust.

Anyone who can't chase clouds with a solo is doing something wrong. This little thing hits like a train. Easily the best vape I've ever owned. And I'm currently at work ... straight ... dreaming of chasing clouds.

I use the SOLO the most and I have some vaporizer that are better according to me. However the SOLO works very well and so easy to medicate with. Maybe it's not as pretty as some of the other portables however like a good reliable tool I use the SOLO the most! I can get clouds if I wish. This evening the SOLO was MILKING big time so FLAVOR and EFFECT were obtained in every sense of the word!

Funny because I have yet to achieve any cloud chasing with my Ascent - maybe under the proper conditions you can get huge clouds with the ascent, but I personally could not. (NOTE - I have learned a few tricks, but haven't been willing to waste that amount of herb simply to test how much cloud chasing can be done with the Ascent)
All in all, I regret opting for the Ascent because of it's sexy design. I really wish I had opted for the Solo instead. (Note, I don't have nor have I ever used a Solo, but from what I understand in how the two work, the Solo is a much better vape for a better price)

They're both very good, IMO. If you need a vaporizer you can put in your pocket, the Ascent; if that's not important to you, then the Solo.

Ataxian might be primarily a cloud chaser but the solo allows me to achieve both nirvanas. The flavor is outstanding even on temp 7.

Contrarily, while I can enjoy tasting to the top with my Ascent (430), my solo at six and certainly at seven (410), tastes terrible.

I consider myself a FLAVOR chaser.
I get clouds as well however they are lined with blue vapor swirls.
My level is mostly 4 even with Milk Shakes with Blue Swirls!

Tomorrow is vape night! So sTOKEd!! (see what I did there??)
Gonna load around 0.07ish in my stem by Ed (which also has a domeish/bucket type of screen to keep the herb closer to the heat source), take 4ish hits off 3, and see where it gets me! 0.07 should easily last me 2 really intense highs, so I definitely won't finish it tomorrow!
Do you guys blow very big clouds at level 3? I'm a cloud chaser, and today when I watched a video of a guy with his PAX I was so jealous of the huge clouds he was getting :/

I would definately recommend the solo. It is a very solid vape and you can't beat it for a portable. I have also heard not so great things about the Davinci Ascent.

Is there something wrong with my Solo or does this happen to everyone. I have a m1a3 model and i usually use it around 4 or 5. When it hits the temp and i start hitting it, the red heat light starts blinking again. Its as if it can never hold its temp. It gets back to temp quickly but i just dont understand why its constantly doing that. Is it supposed to do that? Does me hitting it cool down the unit that much?

Not big, no, but visible. If you want thick clouds you need to turn the heat up a little more than 3. For reference, the Pax uses more herb to vaporize, and is constantly vaporizing your load if you're hitting it or not. The Solo does that to an extent but not nearly on the level of the Pax.
