Quick question...I am about to fire up the SR-74 for the first time, but I am unclear on which battery(s) to use. Do I go with 1x18650 or 2x18350? I am cloud-chasing, if it makes a difference...

So there is our stolen Gen 4 top.

How's it going?

What's your feedback on it?

I think you've done it with this one. No more misfires, no more 3x blinking, no dim light when using the herc (3.7v and 7.4v setup) or the KISS (3.7v).

The touch button is much more reliable that I expected. Its incredible comfortable to use and works every time. It is very sensitive, even the slightest corner of your finger works. No need to push, I just rest my finger in the nicely indented spot. It doesn't fire unless you use your finger (needs that tiny electrical current we humans emanate), so no risk of firing in your pocket. But just in case - this one features 5-click on/off. Also I hear that there are more features that will be in the final production run (Hammer mode?).
The center pin is now spring loaded so it makes a solid contact every time. I can screw my herc and KISS all the way down, so no more gaps. The red LED was a perfect choice because it illuminates through your finger so you can always see if its firing.
As a Core user, this has replaced my Omicron setup that I was using with the Core. Now I just need that SS tube adapter. Final production version will lower the voltage gap on the Core down to 6.0v.

All in all I think you solved every problem of the previous generations.

I'm struggling with the Hercules again. I've taken this thing apart so many times I've become an expert on its design. My problems are all over the board, sometimes it won't heat, sometimes it does heat but produces no vapor, most of the time it yields a pull about half the size of a kiss cart but with much better taste. Every once in a while I get a huge draw and it gives me hope.
My ceramic rod is in a good spot, I don't really understand how to properly adjust the gold pin. I really want to figure this out.

So jealous right now..

Would blow 50 hobos in a line for one.. Jokes.. But really my V3 and V1 back up just died so I'm Herc/Persei deprived. RIP.

@THC SCIENTIFIC, any estimated release date? Need this in my life ASAP! :)

Thx!

Does the button stick out?
Does the Herc fit snug to the unit?
Still 5on/5off power feature?

Fill us in bud!
Thx!

Button does not stick out, it sits flush.

7.4 and I've got the recommended aw's. Gary has been on to help dial me in I'm just getting inconsistent results. I'm certain it's user error and I'll love this thing when I get the hang of it.

@Silicon Advisor If you are using the stock white rod that comes in the SR-74 you use (2) 18350 batteries. It is a 7.4 rod. If you are using the optional black rod you use (1) 18350 (if you have the SS kit) or you can use (1) 18650 with the stock battery holder for 3.7 volts.

If you're using one coil, be aware that it tends to slide within the upper chamber. Check to make sure that the coil is at the bottom of the chamber, if it looks like it's sitting above the rod push it down with a tool. This is usually my issue when my herc heats up, but gives no vapor. The only fix for this that I've seen is to squish the coil between two coins, so it becomes wide enough to not slide up and down.

I've noticed my coil above the rod many times. I push it down with a toothpick and its works better. Can I use two coils to keep it from sliding?

If you have pushed your coil down with a toothpick a few times already, you haven't given your coil enough of a squishing. I used a 160lb vice and my coils don't budge. Okay, I didn't really, I just got high and put it between two quarter dollar coins, and stepped on them with the ball of my feet. Works good.

Ok, late last night I made a Kiss Globe/Nibbler-GN video and here it is...

But first a little setup, for this hit the cart was totally cold, I had last used it 4 hours earlier at which point I had put a fairly large (around .1 probably) dab of shatter into the cart and taken a couple of hits. This was my before bed time anti-insomnia hit. You can see that the first several seconds of button press there is no vapor flowing although I am drawing. The cart was clogged a bit likely to do with the amount I loaded, the type of material, and not pre-heating at all before hitting. This was a longer button press than I usually do at around 20 seconds plus the heat up time.

The Nibbler-GN is really nice, the only thing I wish it came with a "tube" style mouthpiece rather than the
"trumpet" style it has. Not a big deal by any measure though.

Yes but keep in mind that this increases the amount of meds needed for the buffer.

@ Beanporn -- did you take apart completely and run reclaim through again ? it seemed to get u going last time .. I recommend continuing to do that with slight changes in the rod placement & angle of use ---- and run it through again just adding a drop extra ---

What angle of use produces best results?

Took my batteries off the charger this morning, loaded them into my persei and it showed a blue solid light around the button. The batteries also heated up. Afraid to try anything at this point, anyone have any suggestions? I just got it a few days ago.

Try putting the bigger battery in the Persei. What happens when you press the button now?

We are checking to see if it is the Top, or the batteries.

That was a cool video, loved to see the vapor "fall" into the main chamber. Rig seems too bulky for a pen tho. Im thinking the Nibbler G will be more my speed?
