Arizer Solo

Hey Guys, I just received my brand new Arizer Solo from Massdrop today. I unpacked it all, plugged it in, and was met with a green flashing 'CHARGE' light, I thought this was all good so left it for a few hours, after coming back about 2 hours later, I'm met with a solid blue 'IDLE' light and a solid red 'CHARGE' light. When I try to power it on, I can choose a heat, but then it just sits there with the IDLE light and red CHARGE light. I have no idea what's going on here, tried unplugging it for a while, holding both buttons for several seconds which apparently resets it, etc.
Model number: M1T0.. incase it helps.
Did I get a dud?

I'm 61, and not the oldest by far on this forum. I'm estatic I live in a legal recreation State (WA). I would have never imagined in the wildest dreams of my youth that pot would be legal, or that I'd spend hundreds of dollars on delivery systems...

I'm 65. I also live in Washington State. It feels so weird to not have to worry about being busted big time anymore. Sometimes I wear my Solo kit on my belt.
Looks like I'm packin' a gun or taser, but I don't loose it that way. What every well equipped aging hippy needs. Always ready!!

No. Flashing=charging, solid=charged.

What I thought too, but it's solid green when plugged in (idle light is the only other light on) and when I try to use it after unplugging it, I turn it on, select a heat and then it just has a solid red charge light and idle light.

A bad battery already?
Do you have any problem opening it up and unplugging and plugging battery back in?
Just to confirm, you meant like this right?

If so, I did that, plugged it back in and re-assembled, however it hasn't changed anything, same situation with charging lights and then no heating.

Hey guys, sorry went on vacation would have asked this when it was being talked about a handful of pages back but, do you guys suggest replacing the bottom screws with non-angled ones and a washer even if the bottom plate is not cracked yet??

edit- as a precautionary thing? I do not have orings yet but i will be getting the thin ones once the stupid stems become available. which they haven't been for the past week. How often are they in stock from planet vape?

If it's not cracking anywhere I would leave it alone. Get a magnifying glass and see if you find any hairline cracks on the bottom. FCer Pipes sells a kit for that. Shout out a PM to him if you want the kit.

I have never used an o-ring and I have cracking and chipping. Arizer probably got a bad batch of plastic.

Question for solo experts. I know you can use the 2014 versions whilst charging ... is it OK to do that if it's the first charge? I can't wait 4 hours to use my new acquisition when I get home tonight :)

First charge sets the batteries boundaries and needs to be topped up full and beyond. Will cost you life cycles down the road to just use out of the box.
The reason is there are two batteries in series and ideally they will be at the same charge level or balanced to ensure the charge is correct and shuts down at the correct time. If one of the two batteries is laggy than the other one will be getting over charged each charge cycle thus driving it much harder. There is a little circuit board on the batteries pack with offers some protection here. If a severe mismatch is detected it will cut out the batteries from circuit. Which shows as going dead when heater comes on. An extended trickle charge might help here if the balance can be restored.
Bottom line, it's going to be a late night..?

I broke my beautiful bong today. This really upsets me. I liked to turn my exhale upside down on occasion and vape thru my bong.

So tell a newbie what to do because if I get another wt I want to be able to work it on both the exhale and the new solo I've been dreaming about. I was all set just to turn that solo upside down. I still have my xhale water tube so I'm not completely screwed

Every once in a while I still like to take a bong hit. Not very often; kinda like a old style way and I do like vaping thru water. I think I would only use the solo that way. I guess if I get the correct adapter I could use my side circ.

I wished I hadn't broken it. It was a nice one.

I see a few comments from the community that we are all excited about possible lifting of the prohibition. I think it be legal everywhere very soon. As a very retired crim defense lawyer (3 kids too many to work as well - I leave that to my husband) I have waited a really long time for this.
And I am getting to denver as soon as I can

I do 5 dry.. am i weird? Why do you guys stick to the lower levels?

No, not at all. Try all combinations, and do the one that you like. I like the lower temps 'cause I get to savor the flavor. I got all the time in the world to do a set up. I inhabit the "Geezer Zone". You don't want to get behind me in a car. I also find, for me, if I go straight to say 425 degrees, I cough more than if I eventually get that hot over time. Someone knowledgeable once wrote that some components of marijuana scorch at high temps and are better sloughed off at lower temps, and that someone was not me. I'm not a scientist, but I like to pretend I'm one on Internet forums. Its what works for me. Now find out what works for you.

I bought my EVO before I bought my Solo, and I "won" an auction at xmas here at FC that supplied me with my first-ever glass pieces, (selflessly donated by @PhotoRider, a major God-O'-Glass FC'er whose collection is truly awe-inspiring) all of which had 18 mm F or Ms. Which sounds kinky I know (hey, I'm into F&M - look at my whips). When I purchased gong bowls from Planet Vape, I made sure they all were for 18 mm. So I can easily interchange pieces. Your bong may be fixable. Check with your local glassblower. It basically all goes together with the proper adapters.

Theres no right or wrong. It's what works for you. I like heat level 5. I vaporize for pain and inflammation the higher temps help with pain. I use heat level 3 and 4. It depends on the time of day. Mostly I vape at 4 and 5.

The lower temps you can appreciate the flavor of the vapor.

When I use my WT I use the higher temps like 6 and 7. That's mostly at night for me. But that's me.
