I don't think a thread like this is going to create any harmony in the FC neighborhood. This had disagreement and contention written all this, when I saw it in the other thread.

When you start preaching to the masses with that holier than thou mentality it's sure to bring some anger out in some individuals.

It seems like you have everything all figured out for everybody with that one step approach. Why would you even set up a thread like this? Is it to make yourself feel superior over others?

I think most the FCers are adults on this forum and they don't need someone to tell them how they should lead their lives. Most folks seem mature enough to decide how they want to spend their time.

Your attitude seems to be to amuse yourself and others. I don't think that is a good way to spend your time. It's like there's a mocking and a petty undertone to all this. I'm not sure what your motives were in all this? Did you want to make others feel badly about themselves?

If these wise words of wisdom work for you and the way you live your life, may you spend many happy years on this planet. But don't tell others how to live their lives.

To be fair (to a post that I could not read with any seriousness), The threads name is
My theory of healthy cannabis usage
I guess that limits some of my sentiment to a more laughable plane.
Now I can look upon this more as satire.

May each of us in life, after the commotion ends, be allowed a "personal theory".
May each of us have the wisdom to know when and where to share it!

No I think it is more like the OP himself at one time had a problem with cannabis and got into some sort of self-destructive behavior involving it, struggled with it and was torn and anguished about it perhaps. Who knows, possibly he even became a shell of his former self! Further on down the road he figured out a way of life consuming pot sparingly that worked for him. So it's more like the zealotry of the recently saved.

In fairness there is something to what he is saying, albeit clumsily. And the regimen he recommends probably is a pretty good wheeze if what you want to do is get the most stoned you can for the least amount of money and ingestion. Nothing against him and more power to him if it is working for him.

You're making my case for me here. If a person can't feel good/ok/normal without cannabis (or any other substance) there is a dependency issue.

Umm, when did I say anything about needing weed to feel normal or good? I said I was at class one day NOT stoned for once and someone asked me if I was because they thought I was acting differently than usual. You're putting words in my mouth. If you're going to put something in my mouth, please make sure it's a freshly loaded vape. I will also accept Dr Pepper.

Does anybody know the unwritten rules?

Homer is holding a vaporizer.

When you know things have gone too far.
. you vape alone
. you know the abbreviations and the lingo
. you own your own piece or 10+ pieces
. you vape everyday
. you vape with your parents
. you drool over weed porn and have a collection of glass porn
. you don't participate in stoner culture - you have your own culture
. You hardly ever cough

A lot of these things the OP has mentioned are true for me, in that I too sometimes struggle with laziness that I tell myself is compounded by my cannabis usage, and my mind slides into escapism. I am dealing with this in my own way, and I may take advice on how to do as well... but although you make a good point, @MindFork , I would never try, unwarranted, to tell someone else when and why they have a problem. What works for you... well, it works for you alone.
You think it's as easy as 'just' stopping or moderating usage? For some it's a lifestyle for a reason. Let me tell you a little story. I stopped using cannabis for a couple of weeks while waiting for a new vape recently. I realized that I have the same emotional ups and downs, the same stark tracts of preoccupation and procrastination, the same anxiety and stress issues that my mind chooses to deal with by wriggling out of thinking about. I had a couple of emotional breakdowns that only passed when I smoked a joint. I realized that either I am so used to cannabis that I need it to equalize myself on a day-to-day basis, or I simply need it to deal it with my anxieties in the first place. Perhaps it's all interlinked, causation and effect, although my anxiety issues stem from a lot more than cannabis and have been around longer. It made me realize that perhaps there will be a day I will tone it down from 24/7 usage, when I will have a more social job than just writing. Regardless, my point is that if I, a one single (and considerably educated and well-read, if I do say so myself) person, can have such a long and complex history with the substance and am still struggling to unravel its threads in my life, how is it possible that you, with only the first-hand experience of one human being at the most, can figure out what's right, not just for you, but for most people? I am very glad it worked in your life, and that you've moderated usage, but the human mind isn't a machine, it's a very organic and fluid representation of your self - that 'self' is individual, and known only by you.
Think about it. :)

I think the OP is kinda young. When I was in college I KNEW what was right, not only for me, but for everyone else. Convincing others that they were wrong just because they didn't agree with me was a collegiate occupation, not only for me, but for most others there as well.

What life teaches you though is the difference between the "right and wrong" concept and the concept of just being different along with learning that not everything is black and white, but rather painted with shades of greys...............and colors. ;)

..... But don't tell others how to live their lives.
Wise on both counts @CarolKing

But as you can see by this statement ... the point of the OP was not to create harmony!
The wording "you're making my case" represents the combative approach of a prosecuting attorney.
None of us knew there was a case here, and we are glad for you if you feel that you are winning it!
You're making my case for me here......
I think that the OP was a little bit put out with all of us who talk 24/7 about the positive aspects of meds, and of the joys of 24/7 vaporization, and just felt it was time to say his piece.

Yes.. of course I am biased.
I have been using for coming up on 50 years.. and I am quite the advocate for heavy.... no, let me re-phrase that... constant use!

The weed is better now but if you listen to the "know-nothings" on TV, who all seem to be cannabis experts yet none of them actually use it, they say the medicine is so strong now that its a danger. They don't think about hash making (concentrates) which people use all the time, has been going on a long time, and is much stronger than flowers.

Bill O'Fuckface talks about the "unintended consequences" of legalization. Its all about the kids right? What about the unintended consequences of prohibition? He never speaks about that.

Bill O'Reilly..."Danger.....Danger......The weed today is MUCH stronger than it used to be and poses a major health risk." Well, Mr. FuckFace, did you dense mind ever consider that being that it's stronger, users just use less than they did years ago? Fuck, years ago, I used to smoke a whole joint by myself. There's no way in hell that I could or would do that today.

People typically want to get to the same place as they did before. If the weed is weaker, you use more to get there. If the weed is stronger, you use less to get there.

O'Reilly is a Harvard grad and as such, I have no doubt that his reasoning skills are such that he knows better, but what he is doing is just appealing to the lowest common denominator of his audience for it is they who signs his paychecks.

actually, Mr. O'Reilly has substance abuse issues and self control issues ... he may see things as black and white. which certainly lines up with his audience - so i'm told, so i'm told ... i never watch him except for clips on Colbert or Daily Show ... i can get hoarse from screaming, sometimes. good thing i'm in the woods. and in a sound proof house.

LOL. Than for God's sake, don't watch Sean Hannity for if you do, your TV will have a very short shelf life.

Fox has caused me to do something that I've never done before and that is.............giving the finger to the TV with the exclamatory, "Fuck you".

The funny thing is 40 odd years ago they were saying the same thing, that pot was much stronger and dangerous and watch out.
I remember in 1960s, a friend talking about treating seeds and plant genetics.
He said that "right now weed is monoploid. Folks can get weed to be polyploid. In a few years everyone will be doing it and all weed will be polyploid, and much better."
It was a bunch of gibberish, and I never gave it a thought at the time.
He was right I imagine. Things are pretty good these days!

I was busy for a few days, but just got caught up on the thread. I'm glad everyone is posting their opinions here, as this is just my personal theory (opinion), with some extra backing from having known and queried lots of stoners in my life, as well as feedback from people who tried the 20/44 hour method with great results.

I usually prefer non-polarized stances, so in this instance the "use it all the time" crowd is one end of the polarity, with the opposite being the abstinence crowd. I put myself in the middle because that is my basic nature.

So to say that I'm not trying to bring about unity...When in human history have we ever had unity? We have cliques and groups that hold together based on similar preferences and biases. Religion, philosophy, culture, nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation, politics, sports, hobbies, intoxicants, entertainments, etc all divide us. We like the people who share our preferences, and we tend to dislike those who do not.

I have no obligation to try to foster unity, especially when my opinion goes against the grain of popular, polarized opinion, provided that I proffer my opinion with respect.

If you sense entertainment or levity in my tone, that's because I don't take myself too seriously, and I don't take reactionary opinions and ad hominems seriously either. I am fine with holding and expressing unpopular opinions, even when it means people will think that I am a _______ (fill in the blank :)).

This is simply my experienced opinion that kind of "slipped out" in another thread, and I figured that it was worthwhile to express it fully so that it could possibly help someone who may be struggling with finding a balance in their lives with cannabis. No other reason.

You STILL don't get it. The issue here is not what you said, but rather how you said it.

Hell, I'd even go as far as to say that there are many here who agree with you in regards to MJ use and abuse, but apparently, you can't see that because your blinded with your own "gospel".

Here's a hint for you. Giving people advice who did not ask for that advice usually does not go over very well and that "should" have been clear with many of the posts above.

A great line from the movie, Schindlers List:........ "It's all in the presentation."

I have no obligation to try to foster unity

Than you're not going to fit in very well here at FC simply because most of us do feel an obligation to foster unity here, ESPECIALLY when there are differing opinions. Unity does not have to mean that we all have the same opinion for it can also mean that we are all united in making and keeping FC the community of that which it is.

@MindFork On the contrary. Here's a little sampling of our rules (which you agreed to follow when you signed up here)

'All members must be treated in a respectful and adult manner. All members should respect and adhere to the promotion of harmony within the community. Do not attempt to disrupt the community in any way."

So yes MindFork.. you are under obligation to foster unity within the community here. I suggest you keep that in mind.

Now... you've got the respect part of this right. But you seem to have forgotten about the part that I've put in bold.
