Arizer Solo

Started playin around with temps when my insomnia started robbing me of precious shut eye last night. Hamster style with a full stem packed down to jus below the lip of the stem. Cut to 24 minutes later and I'm still blowin out cloud after cloud. First time ever in my life I've had a load kick my ass. Was gonna power up for a 3rd cycle but had to admit it had kicked my arse good an proper. Cheers for suggesting going lower wi ma temps. Now it's just after ten on a Sunday morning. Sun splitting thru the blinds and a balmy 22 degrees. Already had my wake up stem, now for my usual super Sunday sesh!!! Gotta love weekends!

@Ratchett since you have a 3D printer I have an IDEAL?

Why not use an ABS or whatever to make replacement parts for the SOLO {bottom plate on the new models are defected} FYI

Take a new model and remove the bottom plate.
Scan and make a computer model.
Or just draw one in a cad program?
Sell a repair kit?
(screw driver to remove 4 machine screws, replacement plate) @Pipes could supply the stands or you can make them for him? @OF could post how to make the repair? @Snappo could be a sales rep? Call the company: COVER your A@@!

Could just be the new batch of GSC making me think: OUT lOud!

I apologize for not seeing this post earlier. @ou812? was asking me about this earlier in the week as well

Yes! I can absolutely help with designing a replacement base plate for the solo! Hell, ABS plastic? I'm thinking more along the lines of steel! You could also get it plated in bronze or real gold if you want to add some bling to your Solo!

Unfortunately, I do not own a solo nor do I have access to one currently. I would love to either have access to a broken plate, or a solo (in any condition, working or not) so I could 3D scan the model (for future reference), and take accurate measurements of the part.

I know there is a large crowd of users who would love some 3D printed Solo accessories. I promise, I will get there - my designs go through 50+ revisions before I'm happy enough with the design to post on my stores - I have a lot of prototype designs which are not yet available for sale

Sometime before the end of the year, I hope to purchase a Solo for numerous reasons, one of which is to make a whole bunch of accessories for ya'll!

This sounds REALLY interesting. I just bought ANOTHER Solo a few months ago, even though I still haven't opened the box! I actually gave ANOTHER brand new Solo I had in the box away to a good friend several months ago. Since them I've been not just spreading the word, but spreading the Solo too :)

I still think custom accessories for vaporizers can be a huge market. I mean heck, why does the iPhone get all the fun?

:)

I suppose I can send you my new Solo, it's just sitting around. I have two other ones to test your designs also. If you'd like to get started on this idea now or later let me know so we can set it up!

Not everybody does it the same, we all have our own rituals. Do what works for you. There's no right or wrong. I love getting great ideas that I've never thought of. Regular screens are really cheap, you can buy a 100 off Amazon. Have fun trying out new things.
This is very true what you say!

You know I love my GSC during the day however for WAKE & VAKE I'm finding this PINEAPPLE KUSH helps my nausea, headaches & increases my energy!

I know we are all different however I'm finding what works as you know what works for you!

Level 4 on my SOLO with a small bubbler and a full PHVES GonG packed loose. (some hate the PHVES)
I love them!

Before my coffee the SOLO is just perfect!

I could buy so many other devices.
The SOLO heats at a range just perfect delivery of my medicine.
Ok it's cheap and extremely senseable.

It is an affliction of the pocketbook; do not make light of VAS: Vaporizer Aquitition Syndrome strikes deep in the brains of those so afflicted. There is a receptacle in the brain that SHOULD send a signal out when an optimal vaporizer acquisition has occurred. "Seek no more", the receptacle tells the brain. The problem arises when many new, slightly eccentric and totally cool units hit the market, all of which have highly excitable proponents urging early adaption.

A study should be made. We should seek a Government Grant so as to buy enough supplies to get us through a year's worth of heavy experimentation.

To paraphrase P.T. Barnum, "There is a VAS patient born every minute."

Hey all

Owned my solo for approx a weekend and this is the unit for me. Density, efficiency, portability - I know its a little on the large side, but in person it is soo much smaller than I could have ever anticipated from the photos.

Been looking for a portable for a while and got to try/purchase various units. The solo rivals my desktop unit (extreme Q) - it is an all round great unit. I will try to return or resell my other portables. I wish I had tried the solo first, such is life.

No VAS on my side just enjoyment of GOD'S creation!
I have to go to the garden to medicate.
Is it because I don't have power near my garden chair?
Is it because I need water path to make the vapor as cool as can be!
Is it because I find the session kind of long? (I stir 1/2 through)
Is it because my medicine last a long time?
Or just maybe it's because it's a SOLO?

I love CANNABIS and the strain that really works well all around is PINEAPPLE KUSH.
Officially it has been added to my medicine cabinet!

Then you, @ataxian , are saved from the horrors of VAS. VAS also encompasses the seeking of The Holy Nail for concentrates, which stems from The Last Pigout, where Lenny took a dab of wax in the Holy Nail, saying, "Take of this, and hit it, all of you. For this is a dab of my very best wax. Do this in remembrance of...Fuck! This is Some-Good-Shit..."

Is it true that vapor takes longer to be absorbed and therefore you need to hold in your hits longer? How long do you guys hold you Solo hits in for?

IIRC holding in vapor is good because the less visible vapor you exhale, that means you absorbed more. so its not like smoking. i hold mine in for a couple seconds, usually i can hold it in for a couple seconds before i start to cough anyway.

What does IIRC mean?

My issue with this is I like exhaling vapor, it's fun!

MYTH!

The 70's movie UP IN SMOKE created this myth!

I don't think about it really.
Breath vapor in breath it out!
Your body will use what it needs.
No VAS? but i do think you suffer from GAS.

I think I'm cured of GAS as well!

I found the little cheap bubbler pairs better with a SOLO than anything I have tried.
However because of EGO disease (ED) people will not believe.

I like a little more volume with a harder hitting vaporizer.
The SOLO balanced with the right water configuration is a all around very practical medical device.

Gas and VAS I did have I do not refute.

However the NIRVANA is finding PERSPECTIVE!

Some of you might not relate however this is point of view:

"1989 CABERNET" is it the automatic cork remover or the manual tool?
Maybe it's whats inside the bottle?

CANNABIS is the HOLY GRAIL!

Hey guys!

I'm a first time poster, and I'm officially getting into the vape game next week after doing gravity bongs since I've started smoking. I can barely do gravs anymore, so I think this will be good for me. I've been doing A LOT of research on vaporizers, and I think I'm going with the Arizer Solo. I hope I won't be disappointed. I forgot to mention I thought about getting a cloud evo, but I don't know if I want to spend that kind of money on a vape just yet!

So I'm wondering where can I get custom stems from? It seems like all the custom stems are sold out, so that's very disappointing for me. Also, are there any tips and tricks for this thing? I read about the dome screen, and I might try it when I get mine next week. Also, are there any legit sellers I can buy the solo from at a good price?

Thanks :)

First off, welcome to the Forum. Solo is a great choice IMO. I hope you enjoy it.

My 'tip' advice is to not worry about custom stems (or custom anything) until after you've given the stock nit a fair trial. Especially if you have no vaping experience, you need to learn about that process before getting carried away with tools anyway. One step at a time.

I think it's a mistake to assume that Arizer didn't do a good job with the original design. They are not stupid as demonstrated by their other top tier vape products. The Solo is, IMO, well thought out originally and well proven as delivered. Have a little faith?

Not everything new or 'read about on the internet' is a good idea for everyone. I think you should make your own choices, not let random net.guys make them for you?

Good luck with your Solo, read back a couple dozen pages. Most of the typical 'what should I do?' questions are sure to be there.

Expensive stuff breaks.
That is one of the reasons I buy cheap stuff.
iLdKpnd.jpg

The GonG from planet vapes is more valuable than any glass adapter.
I would cry. (maybe)
You could use a silicone tubing and an adapter connected to one of the Stems the SOLO comes with until the GonG become available again?

The EVO is a very nice vaporizer however a SOLO for the MEDICAL patient is very useful.

It's cheap so don't let that stop you.
The EVO you can buy later if you want? However for a first vaporizer you can't go wrong with a SOLO.
Watch out for VAS it's like the EBOLA virus! I've had it once and survived. However I have tried many vaporizer's.
They are well made and do a good job however the SOLO I can handle. The SOLO I still use the most.

It may or may not be to your liking however for the price point it's a way to introduce yourself to the world of vaporizing!

When you become infected get more stuff!

Thanks for the response. True, experience is the best way, but with no experience using vapes at all, I have to be able to justify spending a lot of money on something I've never experienced, so knowing opinions help out.

I know it's a myth that holding in smoke gets you higher, but what about vapor? I've heard vapor is different than smoke in that aspect.

You're welcome. I think we're on the same page. Except I think you should delay plans for aftermarket stems, fancy techniques and all that unit you take care of the learning about vaping part.

Until then you have no way to make an informed choice about the future and what vape/options work best for you. Use the stock unit long enough to wean yourself off blazing. A couple weeks of no cheating at all (blazing) should do it. By then you may well answer some of your questions yourself and will be in a much better position to ask the questions and understand the answer.

I get the excitement and all, but take 'it as it comes' is good advice I think. Here specifically, but also generally in vaping. Don't force thicker clouds and see what happens.

Enjoy it.

Vaping for a week without cheating totally makes sense to me, and I'm going to try that. I'll then be able to judge what I need and tweak my setup from there. Thanks for the advice man, and you opened up my mind to just experimenting more. Once I get my vape, I'll definitely come back here and post my first reactions to let you guys know how it goes! :D
