It doesn't matter if the top isnt open, it's gonna provide a fair amount of diffusion, and its only got like 1-2 cm of clearance from the perc to the top of the can.
I have and Love a GB186 - take another look at it, its got 10-15cm clearance above the perc, and with a water level barely submerging the top perc, I get it stacking up the whole can.
Seriously, have a think about the airflow and how the bubbles will stack...
Eh, to me that piece looks like a waste of $$$
$30 may not be much for a piece of glass, but it's more than I'd be willing to pay for a piece that'll end up being used as a paperweight...

I think the can is a slightly different size, and I think the base is slightly different between them, but I don't have them in front of me to check.
The D020 has an angled showerhead - with I believe 10 slits.
The D020-D has a simple matrix - I think this one only has 6 slits? (Maybe it's 10 - my one is on loan to a buddy right now so I cant check) inside the perc is a little band of glass that splits up each slit (kinda like gridding, but a different technique) which effectively doubles the number of points of diffusion.
That one looks much better to me
More clearance so the perc can stack, I can't see you inhaling water too easily with that one
Edit, just noticed the price on that one, says $75 for me... That's kinda high for dhgate stuff, but if that's the sorta piece you want, it's still 1/2-1/3 of the price of an equivalent US made piece

How is the D-020-D different from the GB-187? cause if there isn't that big a difference i may go with that one instead of waiting for "soon" from yingmin :S but i would really like to get the 187 if it were available.

187 is slightly taller. I don't own a D020-D but I do own the 187 and it is very smooth. I believe by appearance that the 187 has a better perc and would have less drag. Maybe someone who owns both can say

IMO, you can't go wrong with either the D020-D, the D020-W, or the GB-187.
The can of the GB-187 is like that of the D020, so it is less wide than the D020-D/-W. But it makes up for it in height.
As for the difference in the percs, the 187's "matrix" perc has a tiny bit more diffusion, but not really enough to make a huge difference. They both have a similar pull, and I'd actually say the D020-D is less resistant but the 187 stacks higher.
Problem is though, the GB-187 is OOS.

I got a response, but shipping for a 5 lot was ~$70 or so, making the order ~180 or so IIRC...didn't seem worth it to me.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for them on DHG, things have slowed down with very little in new entries. This badboy isn't $30 cheap, but it is totally reasonable coming in @ just under $100. It's also beefy as hell at 7mm, shipped domestically (USA) and seems to have better QC standards than the Dhgate pieces. Very happy

I'm not too interested in the D022..... Now a sidecar GB-187 - YES PLEASE (doesn't exist yet, wishful thinking)
Personally, I say buy the D020-D or the D020-W (W is my favorite so far)
